  1. You know something is severely wrong when a customer leaves and goes to Dreamworld.😆

  2. Just had a thought. Since Studio Showcase just finished. Do you think they'll do a "celebrating 30 years" temporary display in the same location? I think it's highly likely they still have A LOT of their old props, backdrops and in particular many of the old cars etc. used. Do you think we might see a throwback featuring things like: - Old parade floats (in partiuclar the daffy duck & Sylvester cars) - Old costumes (Character ones & things like Police academy ones) - Photos & videos of old rides & attractions - Old set pieces (facades from old shows & rides) I know I personally would love to see the cobs blown off a lot of the props & vehicles etc. which I'm sure Movie World probably still have a decent amount of, and what better way to give a brief non permanent nod to their past, and potentially a section about the future of Movie World? Or maybe they can remove stunt driver and bring back police academy forever.. If you haven't noticed.. I really miss the police academy show 🤣

  3. Having visited with a little one I can certainly say the Sea World splash pad was the highlight of their trip. So could certainly see them adding one. Especially if you have parents who are minding multiple age groups and the older kids want to ride the H2O stuff

  4. Splash pads are fun for children, and give good variety for a family day out at Wet n Wild. It’s not really practical to have your kid at WnW Jr, and then dress them and take them over to the Looney Tunes splash zone if they feel like doing that. Plus splash pads are small and cheap enough you might as well have more than one, so the younger sibling can do that while the older one goes on the big slide nearby. For younger visitor too, you can just change the design slightly and it still seems like a "different" attraction to them. Kind of like how a McDonalds playground might be built by the same manufacturer as the Hungry Jacks playground, but the kid will want to go on both (and be happy to do so) because they look different, have different slides etc.

  6. Pardon me if I repeat anything mentioned above. Operations will be busy at the parks due to everyone getting back to normality. So while it's annoying to queue up etc it means they are generating profit even if it's just for a few weeks. One train ops. While unacceptable on busy days sometimes operational factors need to be understood. The second train could be tagged out or possibly muggy be close to service or have end of life components* on it rendering it useless possibly for daily operations. Parts shortages are evident in most industries around the world right now. Without making money at the parks you also need to put back on daily running cost. Don't run a train on and your saving on wear and tear. While frustrating for the guest it is something that supervisors etc do constantly think about. Sometimes however these taught and unpopular decisions need to be made for the benefit of the company.

  7. As a kid I love the pre show for Looney Tunes. The different rooms, sets and story of making your way through the studio and then drilling your way through the earth to begin the journey to finding bugs Batmans preshow actually made up most of the ride and without it, the ride would have almost been nothing. I actually enjoyed the pre show more than the simulator ride itself.

  8. This. Both Batman and Gremlins were so insanely memorable and so well executed for their time. How can you not love a big dark ride hiding behind a modest facade? Same with Looney Tunes and Bermuda - both pre-rides setup simple plots that were well executed throughout the rest of the ride. Bermuda would have to be the country’s best dark ride overall. Pre-ride videos don’t make up for poorly executed pre-rides, at best they’ll make the queue move quicker which means you’ll have to spend less time in a poor pre-ride. In which case, it’s a unanimous vote from me that both Arkham and Sky Voyager have the best pre-ride videos. 🍻

  9. I'm not sure why there'd be a problem with weight after all these years - it may or may not have something to do with the supplemental seatbelts on the harnesses, which are INCREDIBLY short (like Claw). I find there are quite a few rides at Dreamworld I used to be able to ride without an issue, that I now can't even get the seatbelt into since the straps were shortened.

  10. You're right. Wet n Wild has a rollercoaster, so why does Movie World need one?

  12. Ah yeh, don’t know why I didn’t think of that haha. Bermuda triangle and Vikings Revenge were awesome water rides though, I remember just being able to get on BT before it got removed and I was like 7. I guess I just miss a good ol fashioned flume ride of some sort and a water coaster doesn’t really make that for me. Storm coaster has one lil part at the end, which I find charming in that way.

  16. Batman Adventure (original) was fantastic, immersive and I believe is really missed. The format would still work today with updated simulators, but obviously won’t happen. LTRR was also fantastic. When I think quality pre-ride, I don’t want just a video explaining a backstory, I want an interactive element or queue that takes you through something unique and exciting prior to you even boarding the ride

  17. Yeah those aren’t the arcade games I was talking about. I know the old Penny Arcade games such as Fly-a-Plane and Green Ray etc. were owned by Luna Park and restored some years ago (though the Horse Racing game seen in the article is still in limbo cause the guy wrapped up his business in 2018 and LPS has been trying to get in contact with him to check its status); I was talking about the vintage pinball machines that are owned by this guy: https://dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/southern-courier/greg-terranova-of-malabar-collects-more-than-80-vintage-pinball-machines/news-story/116c9a666600bd52edfc1b2b61699275 It was these machines where some had to be sold off and I hope none of the ones that were LPS originals were affected. Cause some of the pinball games were listed as being in the park in the 60’s/70’s; I would hope these would have stayed.

  19. I think you HAVE to be looking at a water ride for the park. It’s in desperate need now and it has to he as far away in public opinion from the two home made rides they had, so go super modern. The two other things the park needs is weenies and restoration of theming to OCEAN parade. So I really feel they need a nice big splash boat ride, obviously with the theming tweaked for the Ocean Parade theme but Intamin makes an off the shelf model that not only fits but ticks the boxes. Plus the vertical lift is a nice gimmick.

  21. This sound a bit dicky and a bit of an out, but... If @themagiciandoesn't provide a source, its confidential. This forum has "reputation" for that reason though. Someone with the top rep on the forum posts and doesn't provide a source, they still can generally be trusted, just use common sense and make sure its not a joke. If you or even me started posting stuff, then sure be skeptical.

  22. I might be misremembering but didn’t they start out with 7 trains when the ride was new?

  23. Space Roller doesn’t have any insurance, heaps of operators struggled to find insurance during COVID. Wild Mouse has been around for about a year now, was supposed to do Sydney last year but obviously was cancelled. It’s just an SBF Cyclone, same layout as a Pindari Zyclon. Nothing special.

  24. Why do they need a splash pad when the park next door already has one
