Oh cool a discussion thread about something new at the parks! Let me just scroll through the petty argument that happens in every thread between the same people to actually get to what I came here for! Anyway, this sounds like a great investment for the park, assuming the food matches the quality of the theming. It looks like they've gutted the entire building so hopefully that means a new kitchen where they can cook actual meals instead of the usual quick service menu

At no point had I associated "Jane's Rivertown Restaurant" with Tarzan Lore. DW don't have that IP, and where was "Rivertown" in Tarzan? Some conclusion jumping going on here. Looking forward to hearing more about the animatronics.

Personally hadn't thought about it, 'cause it doesn't matter and won't be known. Could be 'cause it rhymed with Jungle, 'cause they thought it sounded good at the start of the restaurant's name, 'cause they thought it fit the character they'd made up, a myriad of other things, or a mixture of any of 'em. Is Kenny Koala a Barbie Ken Doll ripoff, or a Constable Kenny ripoff? Is Walter Wombat a Wario ripoff, a Mr. Wombat ripoff, or a ripoff of this plush toy?

It’s world building. “Rivertown Restaurant” sounds a little generic IMHO. Attaching a character to the restaurant’s name (who I guess is a resident of Rivertown and owns/operates it) immediately implies that there’s some kind of story and “history” to the place, adding to the overall immersion of the area. It also signals to guests that this isn’t a typical generic dining experience and may make them more willing to try it out. We also don’t know what the storyline for Jungle Rush is yet. Perhaps Jane will play a big part in the ride and this will form part of a bigger overall story.

I'm hoping they've given it more than a naming twist - the prominent 'boat bar' and the wording here: When I read this, my first thought was Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki bar. If they can incorporate some A\V elements and \ or some specialty themed cocktails, it won't just be a place to eat, it will truly be a repeatable experience you'd keep coming back to. I do hope this place pays off and succeeds. It'd be a delicious demonstration to Village that you can operate a full sit-down restaurant in a gold coast theme park. (I'm looking at you Rick's Cafe, Stars Cafe and various long-closed Sea World options, and yes I know they've been talking about reopening Stars cafe recently but it's been getting on in years...)
