One of the trains is one the track per the Dreamworld Instagram story An-oGZZZOxGlRD-eBexHwXJ-eMn0vwa7acI8mNVHdM1s3VPKuBIg6ve_UwemlYpc6l9f9tvyfL648Ex3ki_28u1x.mp45 points

It wouldn’t be in the same location as the old BB house, I could see it however popping up more onsite with easier access for crew and visitors. Locating it up the back of the park would strategically give that area more foot traffic throughout the day. with all the success of the park, with many lingering announcements on the horizon, I could see them throwing another curveball. After all Dreamworld has revitalised their logo recently to look like its original logo, they’ve taken the effort to touch up a lot of their classic buildings. They themselves are also touching on their old format. This would be the cherry on top. like I said. May be wishful thinking. But it would be a perfect pairing again.2 points

Can’t lie, I’m pretty excited for this, The Gold Coast is very lucky to have3 new coasters opening this year (technically 4) but I’m most pumped for Jungle Rush, once the Intamin announcement is made things will be looking good for dreamworld.2 points

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I can understand where you're coming from, though I haven't had the same experiences. I think having some alternate films running periodically is a good thing. Clearly they can run more than one film in a day so it isn't a programming issue - though I'm not a fan of the "10-2is film A, then 2-5 is film B" approach because it forces you to get to the park early enough and then stay for both (which is a good thing for the park, but doesn't work for those who might be tempted to drop in for the new film, if it doesn't suit their schedule. Even switching every hour would be a good compromise, in my opinion - but again, i'm not sure what the financial costs are with showing one of the other films, so if it needs to be limited runs, I can understand that. I do agree it's not a massive priority for them - but these new Africa films do sound like something different and i'd be keen for them to come to Dreamworld.2 points

Never say never, but practically no chance on planet earth. There's been so much urban development since the last series was at Dreamworld - the piece of land the house was on was isolated, now it's next door to a massive Westfield. Also all of production (from the edit suites to staging live shows) was on-site and heavily leveraged the Amphitheatre which was neglected and then subsequently bulldozed, which means a lot of infrastructure that was originally there would have to be rebuilt.1 point

I'd like to see 'em use these ones. Makes sense for temporary showings, can be used to send a further message (namely species conservation, like the Tiger Island ad in SV's queue) & guarantees future new movies if they wish to continue down that road. The article also says there's been interest for the project in Australia, so maybe they've already looked into it.1 point

No, it doesn’t. You can keep throwing data and tables and bullshit facts all you like - what suits a park on the other side of the world doesn’t make it the standard for what has to occur on the Gold Coast. You have proven jack shit. Using semantics of English language also doesn’t make your argument any more pointed. Pretty sure 99% of comments on a forum of any topic are taken as being the opinion of the poster, they don’t have to be prefaced with “in my opinion”.1 point

Sure, I'll take that. Sky Sailor at various Fantawild Parks: Openings from 2006 - 2015, no known new films. Voletarium at Europa Park : Opened 2017, no new films. Flying Dreams at Ferrari Land: Opened 2017, no new films. Race Through New York at Universal Studios Orlando: Opened 2017, no new films. Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey at Movie World Abu Dhabi: Opened 2018, no new films. Sky Voyager at Dreamworld: Opened 2019, two new films.1 point

That'd be because 'best ride on the Gold Coast' is a matter of opinion. If you were saying 'Superman is the most liked ride on the Gold Coast', that would be a statement that could be proven or unproven. What you said was 'Sky Voyager is well overdue for a replacement film', which can be proven or unproven. If you'd said 'Sky Voyager should have a replacement film', that would be a matter of opinion.1 point

Your opinion is yours, but making a comparison to Soarin is totally valid with your claiming it's overdue for a change. Personally I don't think it is, I enjoy seeing other films but the Australian film is really well done and others have said has broad appeal.1 point

Can confirm Dreamworld tends to have ST's second train available to deploy fairly often. I've seen them whip out the second train when the line got a bit long on a reasonably off-peak weekend. That said though, it's not like they have multiple multi-train coasters to manage, whereas until WOZ opens, every coaster at MW has multiple trains. Rebuilds do take time. I'd love to say that it's just bad luck that the second train you want them to put on is being rebuilt, but theres too many coincidences for that to ALWAYS be the case.1 point

It looks like a nice umbrella. Can't wait to see what else they've dreamed up for this new land. (Will we see a coaster dynamix model like they did with Leviathan?) I'm sure most people understood the reference, but its still a bit weird to be objectifying the host of a teaser video wearing street clothes and construction PPE. She's not a paid model wearing a sequined gown draped over a new car specifically to appear like eye candy. The reference is dated (the episode first aired in 1993) and we've come a long way in 30 years that this level of objectification is just weird.1 point

It took me a hot minute to figure out ARB was referring to Anti Roll Back device, and it is obvious to me that my vocabulary is no longer on fleek. There's a really good chance if the park isn't running the second train, it's getting some level of work done to it - teardown \ rebuilds are constantly happening in the park maintenance area - gone are the days where the train in the maintenance bay could be whipped out whenever a significant line formed unless the maintenance team had planned very carefully for the second train to be available (which is why 2 train ops by default rarely happens outside of peak holiday periods regardless of how busy the park is). (Personally I like the click clack sound that accompanies a traditional lift hill, and honestly wouldn't have even realised something was different without it being pointed out.)1 point

Saw it today. I prefer the American one to the Australian one but I don’t think the image clarity is as sharp for the American one.1 point

Just a few days late. Hopefully it's better than the aquatic one they did, that one didn't seem like the movements were programmed that well (as it was rather jolty), and it being a fully CGI film with some pretty obvious mishaps & no real use of effects made it substantially worse than the default SV film.1 point

The seatbelts were also retroactively added to Helix and Icon at the request of Mack, I believe. The slow ops here do deserve criticism, but not for this aspect.1 point

The seatbelt thing at both DC Rivals and ST are both requirements from Mack Rides. Copperhead strike also utilises the same system in a completely different park chain. This requirement is because if the seatbelt is done up previous to the check they aren't checking the hydraulics in the harness and instead are only checking the seatbelt, this you get that situation that Mack has put in place where they need to check the harness hydraulics (without seatbelt) then put the seatbelt in. If you can name one ride other then the two Mack rides which Mack have put that requirement in.. you can have that point all for yourself until then that is not a good argument1 point
