  1. Wow, the added greenery has really made the world of difference there is no doubt in my mind from an immersive perspective this is the best we’ve seen from a GC park, attention to detail seems fantastic and the weathered look and greenery still to grow in means the area won’t age negatively like many other themes areas we have seen in the past. Jane’s Restaurant looks on par with any themed offerings I’ve seen overseas

  2. Side note, massive shout out to the entire construction and Dreamworld team who are working around the clock in all conditions to get Rivertown complete before the end of the year. What you are creating looks to be setting a new Australian theme park standard for immersion and story telling.

  3. No one really gives a fuck bro. This looks likes its going to be the best themed area at one of our parks since WWF opened. You need a new hobby.

  4. I have to agree after watching that video they have done a remarkable job with this project. The detail, the difference in elevation on the vintage cars path of travel to give you the sense of realism, scale and wow factor. Not to mention, sound and lighting that will also only positively contribute to the immersion. I'm just as excited to ride Murrissippi Motors as I'm Jungle Rush. When I look at the footage/photos we have seen of both Rivertown and WOZ, I feel like Dreamworld have defiantly executed the themed land to a high level, covering the entire area in great detail. Where as the ride areas for the two WOZ coasters seems pretty sparce and undercooked? Maybe the stations and queue areas will make up for that but i feel like Rivertown is genuinely a much more well rounded execution.

  5. When the Vintage Cars alone looks exciting to ride, the coaster must be great. Once those trees grow out a bit more, people will completely forget where they are for a moment.

  7. Don't be so obtuse. Of course legislation, codes of practice and regulations aren't going to specify a particular style of fencing. It is going to put forth the minimum requirements. It is then up to the relevant parties to agree on what meets those requirements. Chief of those parties would be the company engaged to consult on the risk assessment process, and the company whose job it is to sign off and certify that the installation is compliant. It's unusual that both Village and Dreamworld's new rollercoasters have much the same fences around their ride envelopes, no? I wouldn't be surprised if they use the same companies for the risk assessments, and this is what that company has come back with. I think in the current environment, and with the park's history - If the risk assessment they have paid for states a particular fence is required, and they choose to disregard that, it would be complete and corporate suicide. If anyone wants a read, the relevant section is 7.3.1 - Access to an amusement device

  8. This is the most reasonable price increase in theme park history. even with DW lacking some major rides after so many closures, it's still excellent value for a whole year - especially with a $50 food voucher. The actual purchase page where you select your tickets (after immediately clicking through from the tickets page shown above) does not mention afterpay pricing at all and ONLY has the full prices shown. DW aren't hiding anything, the total price is shown in full, and you can only see the afterpay prices at this point if you select afterpay at the checkout. Personally, I think it's great that DW are keeping the price rises to a minimum while investing $50M+ into the park. It shows that you can operate a profitable and sustainable theme park business without having to compromise on safety, maintenance or guest experience (like the previous DW management/current Village Management).

  9. Ditto. Mannnn they’ve done good and there’s still a tad more to go! I’m going to be one of those people and highlight the chain link fencing… really wish they were themed to suit! Something like an old rickety wooden fence look would’ve been incredible. Maybe they still will be, or maybe they’ll be hidden once it grows in. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Cannot wait for opening!

  11. Having the option isn't scummy, but when you put the full price in much less visible text below it's a bit scummy imo. Feels like they are trying to hide it in a way to make people feel like they are getting a deal

  12. Why is it scummy? It’s offering a payment plan option, which for many is a legitimate way to fund what would be considered a luxury purchase in current high cost of living times.

  13. Why build dedicated storage buildings when you can turn highly immersive indoor attractions and valuable show locations into them Saves on maintenance right

  14. yeah the sightline is unfortunate, but like MDMC, I think their plan is 'yes, but not now'. they've clearly prioritised what is feasible and will turn their attention to the next park section when they can afford to do so.
