  1. Not sure where else to post this, but as a boss, Greg is incredible. What he has been able to do to turn Dreamworld around is brilliant. The car park is full, and the park has an energy again. I am here today, and he is making drinks at Jane's Restaurant. I told him he was and inspiration to his staff, and his response was 'when we are busy, you help out.' I would love to have him as a mentor.

  2. Yep he was definitely hands on today, the place was packed! We only just renewed our Dreamworld passes this morning after getting Village passes a month ago and being severely disappointed in Movieworld. Dreamworld just seems so much more positive, the staff are great, the operations and speed in the ride lines are amazing compared to Movieworld. Just hope to see they continue the Rivertown area into the Motorcoaster part. 1 thing, projection mapping in the temple switch track area would be a welcome addition to Jungle Rush

  3. I presume these 2 names that were recently trademarked by village are related to whatever replaces aqualoop

  5. Greg certainly got around today then. I was at Whitewater World and he was there. He was walking around and even picked up some rubbish. Very nice to see.

  6. Pretty sure it's still allowed, it's just the parks can't do it until the ride has passed all testing and regulatory inspections. Dreamworld did this earlier than Movie World from the looks of it, allowing them time to run technical rehearsals and staff rides. Movie World probably could, and should, have done so as well. But then Dreamworld would have opened first and they would rather guests deal with a worse experience than be second to open

  7. In the mid 2000's (Greg Yong days) staff rides certainly did happen before the rides opened to the public. Green Lantern opened for approx 2 hours a day for about a week for staff to get rides in. We were also able to bring up to 3 family members one night for a preview. They did the same for JL as well (but not for Arkham). Not sure if this happens anymore though. In the summer months on West in particular we used to do a "ride check" once a day where we would just jump on a spare seat in a boat if there was one to check what theming elements were not working properly or had broken down to report back. Although TBH it was mostly to cool off... Sad if that's changed now though, as having a night for staff to experience something new before everyone else is a nice little perk. it's also good training for the ride staff too before tech rehearsals begin.

  8. I’ve heard on good authority that there is certainly more to come but they’ve had delays with some shipments. We’ll see this land and attractions continue to improve over the next few months.
