  1. When I was at the park a few days ago, I noticed what looked to be additional theming for Rivertown/Jungle Rush sitting in the former Rocky Hollow area, including what appeared to be themed rubbish bins.

  2. How a business chooses to manage it's operating hours is up to them. Everything listed in the post above is a matter that can be checked with a little research by the guest before arriving. The park has made their hours very clear on website and socials. Night market sends out emails every week with what's on, or if they're closed. When they have private events on, they publish that for weeks in advance of the date. I took my family to an activity over christmas. we arrived early, hoping to beat the crowds, only to discover that although the place it was at opened at 9 - along with every other service provider in the complex, this one particular facility didn't open until 10:30. I was a little annoyed - why doesn't this operator open at the same time as everyone else? but then I realised that the doors (and the website, and google) clearly showed what their trading hours were. I simply hadn't bothered to check and assumed this place was like all the others in the same location. the fault was mine. I understand dreamworld operating lower hours midweek outside of peak. if i were a local, i'd be a little annoyed - and personally I think they're missing out on the after school traffic - but i've also seen the after school population at Movie World and wondered how they afford the staffing bill - because most of those after school visitors weren't there to buy expensive ice cream. they were there to ride on an annual pass that cost nothing for a post-school visit. So i'm not sure if the economics work out to stay open for the possible ice cream purchases that probably won't come. As for visiting the waterpark - i'm not privy to their finances, but again, you want them to be open for a 7 hour trading day for the possibility of capturing post-school trade for the last 2 hours. what a waste of 5 hours of labour (plus the pre-opening labour required). They've got the numbers, and they've decided it's not viable. And this has been repeated to you so many times it's becoming a turnstile-level issue. Restaurant opening times are clearly posted. Nobody would have assumed it was open at night prior to this step, and they've been very clear about saturday openings and providing a booking link. bookings won't be possible on friday, so that should be a big red fucking hint it isn't open. if you turn up on friday to eat at janes without a reservation - that's really on you. All of these situations are fanciful inventions in your own mind and have no connection with reality. I'm not seeing reviews posted to Dreamworld's various online presences complaining about short hours or closed waterparks. i'm seeing reviews of how great the experience was. Don't even start me on how the company with the 7-hour-trade-7-days-per-week parks and the non-seasonal waterpark is performing in the guest reviews space... because it isn't pretty.

  3. ba dum.. tsssss?? anyways, I found the difference between Rivertown and WoZ is that thanks to WoZ ABYSMAL amount of massive black fencing, it gives off this "completedness" whilst being incomplete. (I thought the sewer was a river about to be made) Meanwhile Dreamworld's Rivertown feels actually complete, then they come around and go "but WAIT, Theres MORE!" and add tones more throughout the month.

  4. Looks like there’s a lot more themed fencing to come and the black mesh fencing was just temporary. Nothing short of world class…

  9. Not really. Some people are reluctant to post on here because of @DaptoFunlandGuy who you vote for will not be revealed. The first process of the awards, is who Parkz members want nominated to narrow it down. I can't run a poll listing every food outlet, every ride & every psrk.

  11. @Brad2912 the main room looked very much unfinished and I believe most people commented on it. @themagiciana small part of me believes MW are saying nothing about DD because what MW has left us with, (a hole in the ground) is all we are getting.

  12. Probably because JR looks finished. Even if they hadn’t of added what they have since opening day, and continue to add, it was still a well themed immersive attraction. What they are adding now just elevates it further. WoZ isn’t immersive once you step outside that internal queue area. And let’s be frank, it never will be. VTP isn’t going to put millions retrospectively into adding theming to the ride envelopes and surrounds. The most we can ever hope for is some shade sails.

  13. It's great DW have opened up the restaurant but this micro management of operational hours that DW has fallen in love with, is a great way to piss off guest. We’re here kids, oh wait, the park doesn’t open for another 30mins. S^&t the park is already open, I thought is didn’t open to 10:30. Let’s do a few rides after school Jonny and grab ice cream. Oh wait, it’s Tuesday, we can only do that on Fridays. F^&k another hot summer day, let’s go the water park to cool down. Don’t be stupid, WWW isn’t open Wednesday. What do you mean I can’t eat at the restaurant tonight, I was here at the Night Markets, last Saturday night and it was open. Oh it’s Friday. But I don’t like German sausages. I’ve just driven from Brisbane for the Night Markets and you’re telling me it’s not on because of a special event.

  14. water effects, a 3rd giant crystal and even more theming has been added into the dark ride sections of Jungle Rush. i find it crazy that they’re still adding more and more theming to it since opening, not just to the ride but the entire area, yet still keeping the attractions open. a video of this can be found on coasterliife instagram

  15. Exactly, the ride itself isn't bad. Just the cycle that it runs is total garbage. Just look at the cycle that Talocan runs. Obviously we can also be sad about the theming that this has, but just the cycle itself is much better.

  17. That's basically them saying instead of spending the money doing a refurb they'd rather something new and more marketable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, but I'm sure with a decent overhaul the ride still has plenty of life left in her. Remember Sea World said the same about the Pirate Ship before they got rid of it, and it's still running to this day. If it's for sale at the right price, for some parks it would actually be a great buy.
