  1. To be fair the continued degradation of WWF and JL point strongly to exactly what he is ranting out being largely correct
  2. They really have a terrible track record for restoring theme elements after a massive shut down. That west shutdown with the new station and boats was the same. Same goes for years upon years worth of justice league closures. It's literally like, somewhere along the line, someone gives absolutely no f*cks for any of it and any planned repairs are canned. I just can't work out if it's apathy or if its budgetary. It's honestly pathetic that everyone seems comfortable with the results they keep producing. At some point I would have thought someone with an opinion that mattered would have had a word and a focus would have shifted to actually doing something about it parks wide, but, nope. Still seems the same as usual. I can't for the life of me think its because nobody in their maintenance teams either cares enough or has the skill to make these repairs, so it only leaves me to think it has to be a management decision. Village MO would tend to suggest they don't allocate the funds and the labour to not only fixing the issues, but to keep them maintained/working. I remember a time when they wouldn't want to open with things broken/out of service. They would actively hold up openings while repairs were attempted, and if the ride supe made a note of it in their diary because it wasn't fixed, it would get passed on to maintenance teams and you would normally see something done about it within a week.
  3. You might notice the site is running a bit slower again. This is temporary while the the image cache is rebuilt on the main site. Rest assured it’s unrelated to the server lag issues we’ve had in recent months, and everything should be running smoothly in a few days.
  4. The MXPX cover is still present in the main coaster section.
  5. Seen quite a few disappointed comments on socials. The laser room in completely dark, the drops are still very jolting despite a full retrack? If what the Magician saying is correct regarding the laser room now confirmed to be dark, then that’s very disappointing, the lasers, smoke effects and soundtrack was the best part of this ride. Seems the locker/storage idea seems to be somewhat a failure too.
  6. Can anyone else foresee mild injuries / slight discomfort from being tossed around a wild mouse track in complete darkness ? Nightmare Mine at Frontier City is the only other example of a coaster that I can think of - but that was just bunny hills and helixes - the exact opposite of a wild mouse. I’m not sure what’s worse - this being a budget decision or a creative one.
  7. Gremlins shut 9th of September 2001, Scooby opened 17th of September 2002. So why did it take 2 and 1/2 years to replace some brake sections? If they can build a whole coaster in that short original time frame? The answer is easy PEF dragging out the required funds. Don't talk about access because the shed hasnt changed since the 90's After riding today its still better then next gen. But its not great. @rappa sorry should of tagged you Offt have to figure out new forum features.
  8. There is certainly some credence to that, no doubt. You clearly have skin in the game when it comes this refurb whether you are directly involved or know someone who was. I don’t think anyone (certainly not me) is trying to shit on the effort the people have gone to to get if up and running again. We’re not privy to the intricate details of exactly what was done, the time demand on that, or the costing. However in saying that neither is the GP who will judge the ride on what they see. With such a long downtime, many kids will have aged up to scooby during its closure and will be riding for the first time meaning some parents may also be riding for a first time with said kids. The more I reflect on the pitch black wild mouse section, the more I think it comes across as either incomplete or not-functioning. It feels like there should be “something” happening in there and it’s not working. If that section is entirely to plan/design by management and not left that way by budget restrictions then in my opinion the management direction has unfortunately made the overall product feel somewhat incomplete and that is an unfair reflection on the people that worked hard to get it back up and running.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a full retrack! Maybe just a couple of small sections
  10. This was rectified later in the day, with the white lights turned off and the screens turned on playing the whole movie. Movie World did confirm this was going to be the case in a video last week, but I don’t know how I feel about it either. Some of those turns are pretty jarring (nature of a wild mouse coaster) and having the laser lights with the Scooby music blasting was always part of the fun. Did they run out of lighting budget because they added so much ambient lighting to the queue and dark ride portion? The vehicles are new, but I don’t think they’re the newest Mack wild mouse vehicle model. The vehicle theming was removed from the old cars, refurbished and installed on the new ones.
  11. As you'll notice, there's some pretty major changes to the forums today. Importantly, login is now via your email address rather than username. Your password remains unchanged. If for whatever reason you are unsure of the email account you signed up with, then I'd recommend getting in touch and we can look into it for you. It was a bit of an abrupt transition today; it was meant to be a bit more gradual, but a few things behind the scenes pushed it forward and here we are. The first thing you'll probably notice is the site is a whole lot faster and we won't be prone to those periods of painfully slow loading, which had become more frequent in recent months. There's also lot of new features that I've barely gotten my head around with this latest version of the forum software, but for now it should at least feel a bit more vibrant and down the track we'll be implementing a few new features. For the time being, the main site is down. It's a slightly larger project to get up and running again but it will happen. Today's rather sudden upgrade for the forums meant that it just wasn't possible to get everything done at the same time. There's no immediate plans for me to resume editorial content, but the site will be back soon enough and we'll hopefully find a way to breathe new life into the site and give new voices and content creators an opportunity to share more freely with this community. If anyone encounters any bugs or issues with the new forum then I'd invite you to share them in the Community Feedback forum.
  12. I saw one comment about Scooby having lights on in the Queue which is obviously indeed a problem that needs to be addressed. However the piece of complete garbage that was Next Gen at Scooby was the brainchild of the GM at the time - there is no blame shifter button to push on that one. The new additions to DW are damn awesome, absolutely but that one was a big fat fail. 100% biased here but I’d be reserving judgement on SDSC until actually riding it rather than past observations. If the effects stop working in 6 months I’d be very surprised and disappointed.
  13. From comments on both the Superman and Scooby (granted, still tech rehearsals but they've only got 36hrs to sort it), it's looking more like the quality issues came from higher up the food chain than the now Dreamworld CEO. Meanwhile he's now got support from above and is making a difference.
  14. While we were down to ride Scooby figured we’d jump a ride on Supes. My frustration at MW just seems to grow with each visit, that just basic things don’t seem to work. As much as in a long queue I don’t want to heat the MRT announcement over and over and over - there are 5 speakers in the room and only 1 working, so you couldn’t hear it except for in one little pocket of the queue. Cycles ranged between 3-6 mins in 2 train ops which for MW isn’t bad I guess, but a designated sorter would cut that dramatically. On many occasions the empty train was in the station for a minute and they had yet to put anyone even behind the doors to load. Being yelled at to “not touch the harnesses” as we walked through was different.. not allowed to lower them yourself until every person on the train is seated. Weird. Indoor section had the water effect running, but zero lighting in that section so you couldn’t see it. Whilst the audio is there at the start “cave in imminent” etc, there was nothing around the cave in cab/cop car section pre-launch. Launch audio was there which is good. Launch seems to have an added kick which is very welcome, seemed noticeably faster than last ride. I just don’t understand why small / not so small details couldn’t have been fixed during such a long downtime. In reality I reckon someone could get the queue and ride audio fixed in a day, yet 4 months isn’t enough time? The ridiculousness of ride photos in an area where you can’t get them as you don’t have your phone/wallet continues to the the height of stupidity.
