  1. That's cool, if I can find quality food at or near a park I'm happy to pay up for that. Noted for next visit. I did the Shark Encounter not long ago and they were getting some pretty good stuff that would be nice cooked up lol. Though Elle the monster bull shark spat stuff out, but Diesel the Dusky Whaler ate everything.
  2. ^LOL they might start doing body cavity searches now. I got patted down once by this girl, she didn't believe there was no wallet in my back pocket (there wasn't). If they had an SE level locker policy I don't think I'd bother riding it, not sure I will anyway. If the ride experience is anything like Ranger at LPS it's not worth the chunder.
  3. Awesome, congrats on getting one. After decades of travelling without a problem. I managed to destroy my Passport overseas last year and had to get an emergency passport - you do not want one of these lol. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures in Singapore. They have Halloween Horror Nights at Uni Singapore, but that gets crazy busy and would add expense to your trip.
  4. ^The scary thing about Willams Grove was that the coaster wasn't in much better shape when it was operating.
  5. Williams Grove in Pennsylvania is gradually being reclaimed by the forest.
  6. ^I thought they might try it anyway, but being far from the best attraction in the park it might encourage people to skip the ride. Yeah that would make sense with the coaster to maximise locker revenue lol.
  7. That's probably the most important bit to Movie World. I wonder if they'll slap the dreaded locker tax on this one like Superman?
  8. ^From what I've read, they have set it up so it can be changed up, which is good. Walking Dead's popularity will eventually run it's course. What House of Horrors lacked to me was moving parts, some nice sets, but nothing much happened. WD seems to have a lot more interaction and heaps happening. The Halloween Horror Nights overlays for House of Horrors were always the weakest maze IMO, it didn't loan itself to being a haunt maze well. Don't get me wrong it's all relative, still lots of fun, but I thought the other mazes were better. I remember the Mummy walk-through before House of Horrors. Waiting, waiting, waiting for someone to jump me - nothing, and then at the very end with daylight in sight, this guy dressed as an Egyptian statue totally got me.
  9. It's a walk-through with scare actors and animatronics. Similar to their mazes at Halloween except with a better fit out because they have a bigger budget for a permanent attraction. From what I've read they'll change it up during Halloween Horror Nights by adding more scare actors. It sounds pretty good and a real improvement in terms of quality on the old House of Horrors attraction that was there.
  10. I went by Celebration City in Branson, with it's perfectly good GCI wood coaster mocking us. Just recently it was sold off and the coaster was demolished. I remember when I was small, seeing the aftermath of the Luna Park Sydney fire from the cliff top at Milson's Point. I wish I'd had a camera, but I remember it vividly. Seeing the lift hill of the Big Dipper badly burned. Friends in New Orleans have offered to take me through Six Flags New Orleans. Though by the time I get there, they might have developed it into a new park.
  11. Have they even officially announced what type of ride Doomsday Destroyer is, even though it's fairly obvious to anyone with functioning eyes? Hopefully the coaster will be fairly obvious soon.
  12. ^And it is 2016 lol. Nice action shot Doomsday!
  13. Nice observation, maybe you should at least be able to keep a wallet in your back pocket, even if it reduces locker usage.
  14. I'm sympathetic for people who can't control their weight because of medical factors, and I'm certainly not talking about you. I'm talking about the majority who have a choice, it's disturbing and at the end of the day they are harming themselves and dramatically shortening their lives. It's very easy to consume an extraordinary amount of calories and exponentially harder to use those calories, but it's a choice.
  15. Did the short films from last year get posted online anywhere?
  16. Sorry to double post. At Luna Park right now. Tango Train is all lit up and looks like it will be ready to go real soon. Contruction walls are still up. They are setting up an ice rink in Maloney's Corner, have they done that before?
  17. ^Having been at Disney world last October I can concur on that. And those people would spend a fortune in food etc. Is insurance also a factor to a degree, beyond regulations and manufacturers recommendations? For instance if a ride has an over the shoulder restraint and an additional redundancy like a belt versus just a lapbar, does that change the risk assessment from an insurance premium perspective?
  18. Jobe, thanks for the photos. I couldn't tell from a fleeting look on the train whether the construction was happening on the flying saucer site or in the tango train space - so that clears it up. I guess a Tango train is better than nothing.
  19. ^From what I saw on the flying saucer site, it didn't look like something they could easily move from that site down to the tango train site. It would make a lot more sense to do it on the actual tango train site if it is intended for there. I'm not an expert on this, but it would seem practical. Tempted to wander down at lunchtime and have a closer squiz, but I don't have time today.
  20. I went over the bridge this morning and I saw on the flying saucer site a red structure in the shape of a circle on the ground. My first thought was one of the Larsen loop type rides that Six Flags tries to pass off as a coaster. Though I'm not sure if they would assemble the loop on the ground and then stand it up - so maybe it's the base for some kind of circular ride. I think this will be known very soon.
  21. ^Why did I stand on the other the other side of the train this morning on the way to North Sydney lol. I'm probably going this Saturday and also Friday next week for a concert so I'll see if I can check it out.
  22. ^A wave swinger would good on the water's edge, swinging out over the water. Ha get that Fear coaster from the Sydney Easter show a couple of years ago. Oh my gosh, you'd need emergency services on standby for the regular evacs when it's running. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, it's kind of a compact carnie version of a Eurofighter. It's a shame they can't expand to that land on the other side of Maloney's corner.
  23. Ha if you've seen the Adam West Batman movie, the Dark Knight would definitely enjoy Brokeback Mountain. Maybe the park should be completely re-themed to the films of Ang Lee: Brokeback Mountain Falls, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Coaster (for Scooby), Eat Drink Man Woman (for Rick's), Lust Caution Stunt Show, Launch of Pi, Sense and Sensibility League.3D and so on.
