  1. I was there on 31/10 and Tango Train was running, I even took a POV and put it up on youtube, along night and day POV's of the wild mouse and a Rotor observation deck video.
  2. Realistically, do the operators of LPS even give a hoot about the ride line up? I agree a rainbow, or falling star as they are othrwise known would be a good addition. An indoor coaster would be a good way to get around the noise problems, something compact like a Eurofighter, but I think resdients weren't so much worried about the noise as having their view blocked, prehaps something as high as the cliff line. The Indiana Beach one Steel Hawg would be a nice fit and a half pipe would be another realstic addition. Sadly, I see no will for investment in more permanent rides in the park, I'll be happy if I'm proven wrong.
  3. It sounds like there is still plenty of room for implovment, and they should be motivated by the numbers they can get - I was reading that Knott's haunt gets 15% of their annual attendance from their haunt. I was going to go to this but I decided to go to the US instead and I thoroughly enjoyed Universal Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights and Knott's Scary Farm. MW should check out those events for ideas (within their smaller budget of course) as they are a so much fun and very scary.
  4. I'm going to LA on Friday, add notebook to packing list. It sounds like MW is heading in the right direction, I know they will never match Universal or Knotts but I see it growing if they keep getting good numbers. I'm scared about Halloween Horror Nights and Knotts Scary Farm, I'll probably have a nervous disorder by the time I've gotten through all that.
  5. ^I'm not a that big a fan of Knotts, but their Halloween looks awesome. I'm staying down the block from Knotts because Halloween goes very late into night.
  6. I wouldn't bother with Universal during the day, I'm there for Halloween Horror Nights which is supposed to be amazing. I'm thinking I'll just day trip it up to SFMM on Sunday and skip their Halloween stuff. Then head down to Anaheim on Monday, do Knott's Scary Farm for a couple of nights. I'm not a Disney fan so I won't bother with Disney though California Adventure might be worth it because they have added a bit since I went there in 2001.
  7. Managed to jag a week off work, so I'm heading over to LA on the 9th October for a week, HHN at Universal already booked for the 9th and 10th. I'll probably go up SFMM for their one on Sunday and go down to Knotts Scary Farm in the middle of the week.
  8. Didn't Halloween at MW do really well last year, or have they increased the number of nights a lot from last year so supply is greater than demand?
  9. ^Did you do Mick Doohan Motocoaster and Giant Drop, if so, what did you think of them?
  10. ^At least I'm heading up for the Movie World Halloween. If I could jag a week off and there's still tickets available, I'd be on the next plane over to LA for HHN.
  11. Damn I forgot I wasn't on TPR, you guys would have had no idea what I was talking about.
  12. There's no way any of those photos were inaccurately representing the dire situation in Sydney, flaming Godzilla, f***ed up the trains.
  13. I'll be up that way in March next year, maybe they will at least still have the Wild Mouse credit there.
  14. It's only Saturdays for the first 3 weeks and then Fridays and Saturdays for the last two weeks. Would Surfside put on later buses for the Halloween nights?
  15. I don't know, even though I work not far from the harbour bridge but it wasn't looking good that morning.
  16. ^Ah, the Volare at Rye Slayland, the memories, or lack of them from the beating to the head. You know I've been on 3 Volares now in 3 different countries and 2 continents. We did a dragon wagon at Zumas in Knoxville Tn, that was so small the lift wasn't higher than my waist - I'd settle for that at Luna Park Sydney. My vote is with Movie World, in case it wasn't obvious before.
  17. ^I haven't been to Sea World since 2003 either but I will definitely be going there to check out Shark Bay and Jet Rescue. I'm doing two nights of Halloween at MW. I don't think DW will get a look in. Probably to put it in perspective I have been to a hell of a lot of park overseas so it makes me much harder to please. I just checked, I've been to 89 parks that have at least one coaster in them according to coaster counter.
  18. Does anyone have any updates on Turbo Mountain as well, obviously it has been removed from thepark but has it been scrapped or will it be relocated (or possibly become a travelling coaster)?
  19. I've actually got time to go to Dreamworld when I come up in October but I doubt I will bother, haven't been since to DW 2003. I think I'll wait until they add something exceptional, and I'm not holding my breath for that. I think Giant Drop is world class even if the operations on it are abysmal. Tower of Terror seems slow and uninteresting after riding a lot of the new generation launch coasters like Dragster, Kingda Ka. Xcelerator and so on. Cyclone is a very meh ride in my opinion. Mick Doohan's Motocoaster and the The Claw, neither of which I have been on, I do not consider good enough to justify a visit. Movie World - Superman Escape, Wild West Falls, and Scooby Doo I consider to be highly impressive world class attractions. I think their Looney Tunes River Caves is an impressive kid's ride and their kiddie coaster is not bad. Lethal Weapon is a good ride but with some flaws. I stress just my opinion as someone who visits the Gold Coast and has to decide what to do with the time I have while visiting.
  20. Personally I prefer Movie World, I personally think it has far more quality than DW though DW has the quantity. Worth noting at Movie World is Superman, Scooby Doo, Wild West Falls, Batwing, Shrek, Batman simulator, and Lethal Weapon. While Dreamworld has Giant Drop, Tower of Terror, The Claw, Cyclone and Motocoaster. I'd just get on each of their websites check out what attractions they have to offer and work what you prefer.
  21. An copy of Balder or Piraten would do me - they're actually realistic acquisitions too.
  22. I want to go to Universal's and Knott's Halloween events big time but it was too hard to get time off work in Oct. I booked tickets for Movieworld for 30/10 and 31/10, so I'm looking forward to coming up and checking it out. I plan on going to Sea World for the first time since 2003 as well - should be fun.
  23. Maybe if there is a lack of alcohol outlets, they can sell those beer dispensing hats. I was looking at the lineup for HHN at Universal and they have so many mazes and scare zones, hopefully this will be start of WBMW developing Halloween into something incredible like Universal. One of those Halloween things like at Universal would make an interesting set up for a new Friday the 13th - the real Jason stalking HHN at Universal, slaughtering drunk, immoral young people.
  24. Sounds good, I'm very tempted to head up to the GC for this. I was tempted to head over to LA for Universal Halloween Horror nights but I can't get the time off work to do that.
  25. Balder at Liseberg for me, I was sceptical but it blew me away. The haunted house at Liesberg was also amazing - we got chased out of there by meat cleaver wielding mad doctor ghost. Though I have to admit the scariest experience was the SCAD tower at Tivoli Friheden in Denmark - 50 metre free fall into a net.
