  1. The main issue that I have is I always find it easier to navigate a web site if I can click on the web pages name and it takes me to the home page.
  2. I see the wii as Nintendo's next step in the revolution of game consols. I have always found Sony and xbox following Nintendo’s tracks. Even thou Nintendo have not always got it right they do try to think outside of the box. I believe if it was not for Nintendo and Sega then gaming may not be what it is today. It is easy to upgrade to a v8 from a v6 like Sony & xbox has but I say it takes balls to go out alone for a new concept. How good do you want graphics to get? Do you think it would be fun to see a live like person get their head blown off?
  3. I think you will be fine. Gosh dude even if it wasn’t a warn day the average night temps are over 20. If you go by next Tuesday forecast you will see even if it is cooler during the day the night temp does not drop by much. TUE Strong Thunderstorms. Mostly Cloudy. Mild. Humid. 18 km/h N 22mm (77%) 77% 22min - 26min
  4. Sometimes just after dusk, you may see pigs fly.
  5. Mate this is Queensland up here. Queensland is not like Melbourne we don’t live on the weather channel. I have heaps of relatives who live in Melbourne and they pull that line with me all the time. Us Queenslanders go outside and enjoy the day. I can’t see your point on waiting to check the weather; the idea is to get wet.
  6. Another flowrider is you ask me. I would bet on it that the bowling will not be included in Dreamworlds entry cost. Going by Dreamworld record it will cost the same as AMF Bowling Centres prices + Dreamworlds 100% surcharge.
  7. I think the hype is coming from village people because of what they have been quoted saying. "We are going to surprise and dazzle you (the Gold Coast)," said Mr Burke. "We have some big announcements in store for the Gold Coast." It does not say, said the Bulletin. The reporter quoted what Mr Burke said. I do not think village will release any further information then what they released at the meeting about any new attraction till the new attractions have been completed.
  8. I just pulled this from the Gold Coast Bulletin web site. I like the bit of information that I have bolded below. If dreamworld does not take this shot across the bow as a warning then they have major problems. VILLAGE Roadshow yesterday said it was going to 'surprise and dazzle' the Gold Coast, after a year when theme park success brought the company back on to the red carpet. The showbiz and theme park company -- which produced a profit of $45.1 million after a dismal $40 million loss the previous year -- yesterday indicated grand plans for the city in the coming year. Speaking at the group's annual general meeting at Sea World, chairman John Kirby told applauding shareholders that theme parks were the future of the company and it was looking at further parks, both here and abroad, as acquisitions. He said the parks Village Roadshow owned -- Sea World, Movie World and Wet'n'Wild Water World -- were the big winners for the company's turnaround, injecting $82.8 million into the company. This was up from the previous year, which produced $54.6 million. "Following the implementation of several innovative marketing campaigns and tight management of costs, the three main theme parks, Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World and Wet'n'Wild Water World, continued to gain momentum, enjoying annual attendances of over 3.7 million," said Mr Kirby. "In particular Wet'n'Wild Water World, with its new H2O Zone and Tornado, attracted over 1 million attendances for the first time, making it one of the world's top water parks. "Australian Outback Spectacular continued to trade above expectations with occupancy running at over 95 per cent of capacity. "These excellent results go to show that with all the new technological and media innovations in entertainment, there is simply no substitute for the thrill of live attractions and rides. "The theme parks, now that we own them 100 per cent, are a large part of the company. They are a heritage within the company. "We will look to expand Sea World, Warner Bros Movie World and Wet'n'Wild and keep refreshing them because that's the key to keeping people coming." Village Roadshow managing director Graham Burke said while the last financial year was 'big', this one would be bigger -- and the Gold Coast remained firmly in its sights. "We are going to surprise and dazzle you (the Gold Coast)," said Mr Burke. "We have some big announcements in store for the Gold Coast."When the Gold Coast has success, Village Roadshow has success and when Village Roadshow has success, the Gold Coast has success." The company's film distribution arm delivered $38.4 million before tax, a 37 per cent increase. Mr Kirby did not give an update on the progress of Village's film production division, which posted a $55.8 million loss in the 2006-07 financial year. He said the group's cinema division was in the advanced stages of expanding its Gold Class concept in the US. The company is also in the midst of a takeover bid for Sydney Attractions Group and has a 30.34 per cent stake in its target, making it the largest shareholder. In September, Village launched a $6.01-a-share bid for the Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife World owner, which was unanimously rejected. It increased its bid to $6.50 a share and reduced the minimum acceptance threshold from 50 per cent to 35 per cent. Village shares last night closed at $2.99, up 20c.

    The Wii

Where is every one getting Super Mario Galaxy from? I have rang around and everyone is telling me its not coming out to the 29th.
  10. I already know what they do. They each get 100m of wire each month to reattach any parts that might come adrift.
  11. When I was looking out renewing my pass I contacted Dreamworld and the customer service emailed me back. "Mine Ride will be re-opening later in the year. We have a new ride also opening in September/October. Best to check our Website for all information Hope you decide to renew your pass. Kind regards Di Finniss Guest Services Manager” I guess Dreamworld where just telling me what I wanted to hear so I would buy another pass. I cannot see them reopening this ride at all. I reckon Dreamworld will just leave it there to rust just like they have with the chairlift. Dreamworld what the **** are you up to?
  12. I totally agree with you Richard. I believe that they are only thinking about the short-term profits and this is what is going to get Dreamworld into trouble. We have already seen this with things just disappearing around the park and Dreamworld not willing to spend money on getting these things going again. One example was the relocation of the vintage cars. What dreamworld don’t understand is I didn’t go on the vintage cars for the thrill of the cars as I think must people didn’t. I went on the cars for the atmosphere like diving under a wooden bridge or bouncing in a toll both. If Dreamworld thinks they can save money by not keeping current attraction operating then it won’t be long before Dreamworlds profits decline and Dreamworld is sold on. Dreamworlds own reports already show a decline in guests. Dreamworld can only offset a decline in guest with price increases for so long before no one is willing to pay.
  13. I did ride again on Sunday and the park was a little busy but nobody had to wait long. I little bit of advice as I found out on Sunday. If the restraints are to tight tell the attendant and she will loosen them up because the button is right there and they don’t mind doing it. I also found out it’s is better to wait a couple of extra cycles to ride up the front. Riding up the front normally does not bother me but on this ride it makes a big difference.
  14. Dreamworlds ability to expand beyond its current footprint is limited. If you noticed past applications to the G.C.C.C. by Dreamworld for land clearing have been denied. The main reasons for the land clearing rejection in the past has been because the area has protected trees within it. The good new for dreamworld is a CEO life at one company is normally not that long.
  15. I do not think he is that worried as he is the 11th richest person in queensland. John Longhurst, 74 (divorced, six children), Queensland Worth: $404 million (last year $203 million) Business: Property development Bought the original 85-hectare site at Coomera, which is now the Dreamworld theme park. He is also a half-share owner in the Logan Hyperdome, which is worth more than $280 million. His son Tony Longhurst won Bathurst 1000 race twice. He recently brought his 6th house at in a row on the beach at the Gold Coast. John is knocking down all six multi million doller homes to build 1 house.
  16. I remember those guys singing on the boat also. I also remember the cowboys would stop the train, start shooting everywhere and pretend to rob the passengers. How easy would it be to go back to these days? If you shut down the dart popping balloon shop: there is 1 cowboy.
  17. TOT was running today and it sounded sweet. The TOT did not miss a beat all day. But on the other hand the vintage car relocation is a bit dangerous. One of the guide wheels broke of a vintage car today. The ride attendant did not notice and loaded it up with a young girl and sent her on its way. The right guide is the one that popped off which is the wost one to break due to the first corner being a right-handed corner. As the vintage car went around the corner it went straight until the right wheels touched the centre guide. If you know the new vintage car layout the first corner drops away about one metre. The left wheel went to the edge of the bank and the vintage car was tilting and making a loud scraping noise (so close to tipping) The thing I could not understand was the attendant let it keep going to it got hung up on the exchange section near the shed.
  18. You did a good job on the news article Richard. It’s not that often that you could get this type of information from the Gold Coast Council web site. The Gold Coast council do not do much certification these days they are mainly just interested in the bigger jobs, relaxation, Material Change Of Use or jobs that outside the scope of the town plan. It was interesting to read through the application to see Dreamworld have lodge there application under the old council (Albert Council) town plan and not the Gold Coast Council town plan. From what I have read is if Dreamworld application went under the Gold Coast Town Plan then it would not be approved due to the height factor. Under the Albert Council there was a provision for theme parks (Theme Park Town Plan). At the time Dreamworld was first built I believe it would have been part of the Albert Shire Council before the amalgamation. If an application falls inline with the town plan then is would be assessed by a private certifier and we would not find out any information on the application till after the application has been approved and built. The only other information I could see about other parks is Movie World has an application to extend a footpath. Sea World has an application for a Material Change of Use. If any other parks where currently planing anything there application could be with private certifiers.
  19. That’s a good pickup Gazza; I studied that for hours and did not see it. The layout of the Vekoma motorbike looks simular to the one that is seen on youtube. Without ridding it I think the Vekoma is better.
  20. I am sending my information to Richard and maybe he will do a report up about it. If I know Richard he already has a report ready to go.
  21. I have just found out that WWW is expanding at the end of next year. All I am willing to say is the new car park behind WWW is going to be no more. WWW will double in size. Look out WetnWild here they come. From what I can make out there will be eight new attractions.
  22. Well Gazza we all know if you are not going look after something or you mistreat it then it is going to crap itself. We all know once you buy a new car you have to maintain it.
