  1. Wow, no offense but it seems like WVTP are getting worse by the day. That ride had some of the best theming around. I really do find it sad that the ride is being run the way you say Joz. And by 1 operator, do you mean 1 operator doing the Loading, Unloading AND Pre-Show? If so that is just screaming for capacity problems.
  2. I just got coke on my keyboard after realising what that council's name is. It sure must "hurt" to be called that.
  3. Also good luck fitting Rainbow in that spot, that ride is almost Identical to a HUSS Ranger. In regards to the Kamikaze type ride it was the Shockwave a few years back. Very compact ride.
  4. Every time i've rode scooby doo that effect has worked. I can't wait to ride it in the coming weeks to see how it's going.
  5. Was the music loud or still muffled? All I can say is WELL done to Movie World, I am glad that they got off there butts and did something about it.
  6. Why on earth would we even want a Chance Chaos in the park? If I had to choose I would much rather have a Zipper. They provide basically the same sensation but are alot better rides. A Chaos IMO is a boring, inferior ride and would be a waste of valuable space.
  7. Sorry, I have a strong dislike for Zamperla rides. They are a pain in the backside as far as Maintenance goes from what I have been told. I also find almost all of there rides uncomfortable and for that space I would rather see something like an Intamin Half-Pipe. As long as it's not a lemon like SurfRider was.
  8. It seems that Sea World have removed the ride off the site and attractions maintenance page finally. I wonder if anything will replace it or not. Hopefully something that looks good will replace it and not something tacky.
  9. Well... Pirate WAS a HUSS And I say DON'T bring on the Zamperla's *Shudders*
  10. Hmmm... It only had maintenance around 2 months ago from what I recall. I am happy to be proven wrong though as I am not 100% Certain. It's just that most rides only go down once a year on average. Unless you are SurfRider or Corkscrew.
  11. A ride normally closes for around 10 days, and normally only ONCE per year.
  12. Thats generally what happen's when they have a Ride Stop. They evacuate the ride and sometimes evacuate the Queue line too. Has happened to me on Bermuda Triangle many times before... As far as flashlights go... well the ride is dark...
  13. Probably a generic ride stop. Probably something triggered a sensor or something like that. It happens with all rides occasionally.
  14. I don't see Sea World getting a new Coaster so soon tony, and would a Spinner fit in the Pirate's spot anyway? And you raise a very valid point Clint. I guess the plot thickens...
  15. I don't think we will see anything that is too tall at LPS again. Something like Rainbow could be a possibility, but anything much higher than that would be hard to picture at LPS. People are also saying that they could "expand" Maloney's corner. I don't think they have any more space to expand that they own. However you could move the childrens rides that are facing the harbour and place the Ranger in the top left corner near Spider. This would create an interesting sensation for people on the ride, swinging out over the water. The noise generated from the ride would also be further away from the evil residents. There would also be a large area to the entrance of the corner, near the railway lines that could fit 2 - 3 flat rides or a small coaster. As far as coasters go, I was looking at a Maurer Söhne / Xtended SC 2000. The ride fits within a 20m x 40m Dimension, which would fit perfectly where I am talking about. I have looked at Google Arial views and checked it all out. It would suit LPS perfectly and is only 2mill USD. http://www.rcdb.com/m/id2315.htm
  16. You enter in the side of the building, I have never seen a line longer than say 10 minutes and that was with half the switchbacks filled. I would say the total duration of the attraction is around 15 minutes, including the Pre-Show and actual gameshow. Hope that answers your questions Jjuttp.
  17. Yes, the Flume Ride had extensive maintenance last year, but every ride has some down time during the year to go over things. It is also a rather short period of 10 days. The Train Line went down during the construction of Jet Rescue as well, and it seems they have not bothered to bring it back. It wasn't exactly interesting though.
  18. Would be hard with the height regulations... we don't want to see another Sea World Eye fiasco.
  19. Yeah it would explain alot. Hopefully they will replace it with another flat ride, as that is all that can really fit in that space.
  20. Park model, recently refurbished. The ride is in very good condition, it has just been decommissioned in an amusement park. Total refurbishedment a few years ago. In perfect working order. Must sell US$130,000 Euro$100,000. Can Ship worldwide, and have people available to set-up and recommission the ride if necessary. I just found this on used rides... If you search for pirate it's the 2nd advert down. www.usedrides.com
  21. No Idea, they MIGHT come back if they don't get sold. I however would not hold your breath.
  22. Claw and Chaos will not be back at RES as they are up for sale. In Regards to Rainbow it was a very last minute thing that happened. I am not 100% as to why it was replaced with Ali Baba at the last minute, but I know it was not due to safety concerns. From what I have heard it was something to do with the company, but I can't go into specifics as I don't know for certain. Hopefully someone could shed some more light onto the situation.
  23. IF they are the Mates Rates Cards, they are valid in the following periods. I got these at the end of my seasonal contract at Dreamworld: "Valid from 27 January to 24 December 2009. Excluding peak periods 10 - 19 April 2009, 27 June - 12 July 2009, 19 September - 4 October 2009"
  24. I'd say around 1999 was Dreamworld's Peak. Tower Of Terror still had the Pre Show. Giant Drop had staff in costume and looked great. Wipeout, Thunderbolt, Village Oval... god I had so many memories around that time. And it will ALWAYS be the Gravitron to me, not the Vortex Same with the Reef Diver and Enterprise... 2000 was still good... but 1999 was where it was at!
