Could you clarify the reasoning behind your statement? Are you suggesting that the current trading hours strongly correlate with Dreamworld's success, or failure, during the peak summer period? ^I partially agree with this statement. The old 'vote with your wallet' saying. Unfortunately, it's much easier said than done. There is only a small group of passionate, 'non-stop complaining' enthusiasts and general visitors who still visit VRTP parks/attractions. Even if this minority chose to stop purchasing passes or visiting VRTP attractions, the financial impact would likely be too small to drive significant change.

I would prepare for the worst, and lower your expectations. Then you have a chance to be pleasantly surprised.

I'm really not a fan of the Afterpay pricing front and centre as the first number you see for the entry price. It feels a bit disingenuous. The hierarchy should be the full price, in bold, bigger sized text, and then below that, the "4 payments of $xx.xx with Afterpay". Australians don't need any more encouragement to take out microloans and become more addicted to debt than we already are.

It’s probably because the Dreamworld Flyer is down for maintenance, so they’ve decided to open The Claw instead. Nice to see they are willing to substitute in another ride if needed. Compared to just saying 'sorry ride is closed'.

GPL Amusements. I got a ride on it at the Melbourne Royal Show. Very fun family thrill ride. It's a modern take on the old 'paratrooper' style flat ride. Would recommend.

They are probably testing or monitoring the bearing system of the spinning seat structure while it's moving dynamically. Or they could be monitoring any aspect of the ride that may be too hard to reach when the seats are installed. Mack first tested their new Voltron coaster, with blocks of steel weights instead of seats, before they tested fully assembled trains with seats. So this type of testing is a common practise.

You'll be sitting up-right on the top, when the bottom side is unloading/loading. In the concept art the seats are shown to free spin. Looks like the pivot point on the back of the seat is positioned higher, such that the seats will always want to return back to an upright position when the main arm in a stationary vertical position.

Loving the Jules Verne retro-space inspired theme and unique name. Exciting that it's a complete new ride type/prototype from KMG as well. Looks like a mix between a Chance Double Skydiver and a Zierer Starshape. Not sure about the single seats though....people do like to ride together, might deter some from spending the $15+ to ride. Also, we are getting a KMG X-Drive very soon. "Dance Mix" was the first ever built/prototype X-Drive, originally built in 2019 and owned by a European showman for a few years. It appeared on usedrideseurope.com in 2023, listed as not being used since 2021. Looks like Aus Ultimate Attractions has purchased it, and is already in Aus.

Just to clarify, DCSV to you represents the minimum standard you expect from Movieworld regarding the pre-show and overall land theming around a ride, attraction or show? In my opinion, the DCSV area was one of the worst investments in Movieworld's history. And should serve as a "how not to design a themed land" case study in textbooks on theme park design.

What sets the DC supervillains unleashed area apart for you? What made it good in your opinion? And when you say it "sets the standard," do you mean it's the pinnacle of themed land expansions or attractions ever constructed at Movieworld?

This! I'm glad others are noticing. I think we forget how important staff interactions, behaviours, work ethic and operations are to the overall themepark experience. Whilst impressive rides and attractions are essential, the quality of staff can profoundly alter your overall perception of a themepark. It's the main reason why I leave Dreamworld/WWW feeling happier and more fulfilled than after a day at any VRTP property these days.

On Friday Funfields announced through their social media channels that the official last operating day of the Thunderdome Go Karts will be today (Sunday 25th Feb 2024). There is approx. 20 operating days left for the 23/24 season. It'll be interesting to see how the crowds fare, without the go karts, during the Victoria labour day weekend and Easter school holidays. Smart move by the park to retire an old, space-hogging, low-capacity attraction. And bring in 2x new timeless and family-friendly themepark/waterpark attractions, that will have a more flexible height/age restrictions than the go-karts (ultimately catering to a broader audience). Perhaps not an excuse, but VRTP continues to offer a 'mediocre' product offering across all facets of their business, because they have found the optimum quality/effort that generates enough profit to keep all C-Suite employees, owners and shareholders happy.

This is my interpretation of the layout. I made a GIF to help explain. In regards to the ability for the layout to be run forwards and backwards: if the train leaves the station travelling forwards, and performs this exact layout every single time, then the train will always re-enter the station travelling forwards. If however, they choose to program the ride to do the green/red loop twice then you'll get the train re-entering the station alternating backwards/forwards. The choice to do the green/red loop an infinite number of times (as others have stated already) is the beauty of this new mechanism and layout. You could potentially run a longer cycle during off-peak, and the shorter cycle on-peak.

@Guest 239 Very very similar thoughts to yours above. Such a great family event this year. And the park looks gorgeous at night - especially the New Atlantis land. Got a night ride on Leviathan, with fireworks from Aquacolour, which was just *chefs kiss*. I had this exact issue. VQ was not working for me (no matter how many times I signed in and out, restarted my phone, killed the app manually/cleared cache/opened app again). So I went to the new fast photo booth at Dockside Tavern to ask for help. All three staff members at the counter told me with no hesitation that VQ was NOT available/working for this Saturday's Carnivale event. I knew this was a lie, and an attempt to get rid of me, as most of my friends' VQs were working on the night. I didn't bother pressing the issue further. Icing on the cake was as I left the counter, one of the workers turned to the other 2 and exclaimed "Gees, the park is on fire tonight!" in a sarcastic tone. 🙃 classic vrtp customer service

This is not true at Gumbuya (for now), as I saw and spoke to many people who rode multiple times in one day. The jury is still out on whether it will stay this way.
