  2. Another incident to further tarnish the already struggling amusement/themed entertainment industry in Australia. So sad.... Just over a year ago, at last year's RMS, there was an incident on the "Fury". It occurred 4 days into the show, and then was SBNO for the rest of the event. https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/terror-of-a-ride-fury-shut-down-after-young-girl-injured-at-show-20190925-p52ut3.html
  3. Agreed. I would have much preferred they just replaced all the set pieces/scenes, animatronics and lighting in the dark ride sections as per the original opening day attraction. Obviously these would all be up to the new safety standards/code. They instead focused too much on incorporating new technology. And thus the simple thematic and storytelling elements that the original did so well, got sidelined.
  4. Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster (original version) could be considered as a fantastic dark ride built in the last 20 years, under prior management? True. Clark & Bikash cannot be 100% responsible for the gradual degradation of the VRTP themepark product offering. This has happened over many years, prior to them in top management roles. I just don't think either of them have the true passion and vision to steer VRTPs out of the current "cedar fair/six flags" product quality, and more towards busch gardens/europa park/universal quality.
  5. Good point. It won't happen though. We will never see Village build a dark ride to the standard of LTRR, with the current Clark & Bikash dynamic duo running the show.
  6. I would love to observe how VRTP goes about building new attractions for their parks. See the whole new attraction process: deciding on attraction/ride, securing capital, design, construction, how major decisions are made, and the reasoning/logic behind those decisions. I have so many questions about this attraction.....my mind boggles. The finished product looks incredibly vanilla. There is no soul or creativity shown. I wonder if the people involved in this project are truly proud of their work, and believe it is "world class"? I would be embarrassed if I was apart of this project.

  8. Most kids haven't seen the 1995 film Waterworld, or know of that IP. Yet the Waterworld stunt show (a stunt show based off that IP) is a very popular attraction, and still highly regarded as one of the best theme park stunt shows in the world. When Universal Beijing opens next year, 4 of those shows will be cloned around the world. The post apocalyptic world of Mad Max lends itself towards a fantastic set, costumes, and action sequences. There are many similarities between the Mad Max and Waterworld films; why not take inspiration from the most successful themepark stunt show in the world.
  9. I mostly agree with @Gazza - Complete overhaul of Kids WB Fun Zone. - Completely new stunt show. Mad Max is the glaringly obvious choice for the theme. It's the most perfect IP, as it's an Australian film, and distributed by Roadshow Films locally, and Warner Bros. Pictures internationally. - Replace lethal weapon with a next gen Vekoma Flying coaster. A Batman theme would work perfectly. - Family thrill mine train coaster that interacts with Wild West Falls in some way. With some cool tricks (e.g. drop track, backwards section, multi launches).
  10. I'm pretty sure the raw coaster track and seat supports shown in this video is for Dreamworld's new coaster. A really great documentary detailing the coaster manufacturing/fabrication process at Mack rides in Germany. There is also some great discussion about the history of the Mack family, and the evolution of Mack rides and Europa Park. Plus they show off that cool "rocking boat" prototype water ride.
  11. Cool idea. Would love for Mack to do it though. A custom compact Super Splash model with an elevator lift, and head chopper airtime hill before the splashdown. Similar to this model at Plopsaland De Panne: For some reason this supersplash model is not listed on rcdb.... but the more generic 'Atlantica' supersplash model is https://rcdb.com/2928.htm).
  12. Is this a hint that the orange track and grey supports will be the final colours??
  13. Tokyo Disneyland in Spring 2009. 1 day at the park. Crowds were bonkers. First overseas trip as well.
  14. @KITTYTUBE VLOGS is a sales rep for Zamperla. The point is to sell more CONEY DROPS.
  15. Nice to know i'm not the only one with this opinion. Also nice pun. 100% agree. The Doomsday Destroyer attraction sign is fantastic. It's probably the best attraction entrance sign in aus. But they decided to hide it and face it towards the showstage? It should have been facing the main pathway, and the little shop moved to the back of the area.
  16. Now this is how you do a 'modern' take on an Atlantis themed land. https://www.themeparks-eu.com/news/full-details-of-aqualantis-at-energylandia-in-2020
  17. ^Agree completely. Movieworld didn't need Doomsday and the villains unleashed precinct. Instead they should have used that money to completely overhaul the Kids WB land, and add a much needed major family attraction to that area. The whole villains unleashed area was a bizarre investment IMO. It is completely separate from all other DC attractions. The area was designed for kids/tweens, but then the anchor ride is too intimidating for most kids and has a 140cm height requirement (thus restricting many kids from riding). And on top of that, let's make the area's interactive games an up-charge experience to piss everyone off 😂
  18. My only hope is that they announce an official opening date for Sky Voyager. And an explanation for the massive delay (but I doubt it). Let's get SV going, and then anything else they announce is a plus.
  19. 100000% agreed. Hopefully after the New Atlantis at Seaworld, this is the next major capex project. Hopefully we see the land rethemed with a new, more up to date IP, and anchored by a new major dark ride that fills the hole that LTRR left. ^What Skeeta said. Since the introduction of the $99 (3 park) annual passes in 2009, VRTPs stopped treating MW, SW & WnW as standalone parks, but instead 1 park, over 3 locations. Movieworld became the park for thrillseekers teenagers and adults, Seaworld catered towards the families, elderly, young children, international tourists, and Wet'n'Wild........stayed the waterpark. If you go back before 2009, you'll notice each park (individually) had attraction mixes that were more balanced. Families with young children would have enjoyed MW just as much as SW. These days, if it wasn't for the still very reasonably priced multi-park passes, families with young kids wouldn't bother visiting/buying passes to MW. Same with a group of young adults; they wouldn't bother to visit Seaworld, because movieworld has everything they need. My hope with The New Atlantis, is that VRTPs are starting to build each park back up into a well-rounded standalone themepark. Similar to how it was prior to 2009. Fun Fact: Found the prices for an Adult 3 park annual pass back in 2008 using wayback machine = $289 online. adjusted for inflation is $356. Currently locals can get a VRTP annual pass for $149. crazy.
  20. Not sure how long. But can confirm that the price increase is true: https://movieworld.com.au/park-info/on-ride-features#ridebackwards
