  1. Interesting find @Skeeta. I used the nifty 'search google for image' feature on the image above, to see where else that image exists on the net. Sure enough, I found that picture in an article that was published on Blooloop in Nov 2016: https://blooloop.com/news/simworx-partners-mondial-launch-new-360-flying-theatre-attraction/ Cutting Edge also revealed that they produced the film for Brogent Technologies. So i'm unsure why they used imagery of a ride system designed by Mondial, and distributed through Simworx? I really like how the ride system works though, really cool entry and exit from the screen. I can imagine after boarding, all the lights go out (you can't see a thing), the arm swinging you into the screen position, and then BAM the image fades in and you're soaring through the sky. Also, Cutting Edge writes about the i-ride project in past tense. So i'm assuming that the ride's movie has already been made? Or at least all the footage has been shot and been through picture post production?
  2. If I was running the show at AW, I would be selling or scrapping the current HUSS Inferno asap. There's nothing particularly special about HUSS towers, so for me I see no point in keeping it. I'd replace it with a new S&S combo tower that performs both the Space Shot and Turbo Drop motions on one tower. Which will set it apart from Batwing, as it only performs the space shot sequence. OR I'd get a double tower from S&S and set tower 1 to perform the space shot motion, and tower 2 to perform the turbo drop motion. The 2 towers would help with capacity, and provides 2 different experiences.
  3. I wonder why Premier Rides didn't make more of these shuttle launch coasters. The layout is awesome, especially the inverted top-hat and LIM's on the vertical spike to push the train higher. It would be really cool to see them bring this layout back with the new sky rocket trains and track.
  4. @MickeyD "There is a lot happening this year and we want you to have a ball with all the exiting new rides........" They spelt exciting wrong. And I guess they are correct when they say 'rides', as the playschool wheel opened in January. And we also have the flying theatre coming later this year.
  5. Any chance we could rename this topic to "New Spinning Coaster for Luna Park Sydney"? @Richard The Maurer Sohne SC2000 differs greatly from a standard Mack wild mouse, and the current classic wooden mouse. I have ridden Crush's Coaster at the Walt Disney Studios Park (Disneyland Paris). Which is the SC2000 model, with an extended pre lift hill dark ride section and different track work for the station. This layout actually delivers decent forces, drops and banked turns. It hardly has any hairpin turns. It's a fun ride that is suitable for all ages. Smooth as well.
  6. I found a video of an existing Technical Park Typhoon 360, at a park in France. You get a good idea of what the ride experience will be like.
  7. ^Very exciting news! I absolutely love Soarin' at DCA. I couldn't have picked a better family attraction for Dreamworld. For those that are not familiar with the 'flying theatre' ride concept, I found a couple videos that help explain the 'i-ride' mechanical system from Brogent Technologies:
  8. I hope the increased price for fast track = a decline in purchases, and thus overall queue lengths will be shorter.
  9. ^Please, please, please let it be a flying theatre attraction! Basically Soarin' over Australia. Perfect fit for Dreamworld and the old cinema location.
  10. On the topic of age limits / age recommendations for Fright Nights......last Friday night I saw 3 families with young kids/infants and their prams strolling around the park. I found that quite bizarre, as the entertainment offering at Fright Nights is definitely not kid friendly.
  11. ^Looks like the spectacular marketing for DC Rivals is working
  12. Visited Seaworld on Friday morning (27/10). Took a trip on the monorail to get some construction pictures of Cataway Reef. Enjoy!
  13. I've also had a chance to ride the new rides at Funfields. So here are my reviews. The Voodoo is the thrill ride that the park desperately needed, and it does not disappoint. Don't let it's small size deceive you, because this ride delivers some surprisingly strong forces and hang time. The ride cycle time is perfect, with 2 full inversions and a 3rd inversion that is very slow....resulting in some loooong hang time. It's a pocket-rocket of a machine. Also, the harnesses and seats are comfortable. IMO it's better than Doomsday Destroyer, Pandamonium and Tailspin. However, I still prefer The Claw's shear power and intense airtime over the Voodoo. The ride also has some great theming and queue atmosphere. This is now the best dry attraction at the park. With 2 people the Gravity Wave is a little underwhelming, but with 4 persons.....wow what a slide. The beginning s-bend is a gentle, yet fun beginning; which lulls you into a false sense of security. Because what follows is nothing but gentle! The downward helix, the steep drop, and then the wave are an intense series of elements which took me by surprise. IMO this is best water slide I have been on, and is the best slide in the park. It’s also a really nice long waterslide. A must ride with 4 persons. Both are excellent additions to the park, and as @Andy G said, it's fantastic to see Funfields continue to expand. I'd love to see them add a family raft slide off the Gravity Wave tower....perhaps a 1/2 open, 1/2 enclosed mammoth slide. Love to hear people's thoughts as to what Funfields should add next.
  14. https://www.parkz.com.au/photo/15405-Gravity_Wave_construction/gallery/sort/newest/offset/3 Definitely wouldn't say no to that!
  15. Is anyone actually excited for this new addition to Seaworld? Is this truly the best use of a nice flat plot of land? Is a splash zone something that Seaworld is in dire need of at this point? I really am stumped that this project got the go ahead....seaworld is in a dire need of a new major attraction or even a new themed area with 1 or 2 dry rides. Am I the only one who is thinking this?
  16. Could it be done with the tire drive/kicker wheels that move the trains through the dark ride section? Where some of the wheels are rough textured somewhat to create vibrations when the train rolls over them? Not sure, but yes @yaark i've definitely noticed it.
  17. I think it's actually a 16 passenger Zamperla Discovery Revolution . The funfields website states the height of the Voodoo is 18m, which matches with the tech specs on this page: http://www.zamperla.com/products/discovery-revolution/ I'm loving the story and theme for this ride. Also loving the stellar marketing job Funfields is doing for these 2 new rides! Really putting movieworld's marketing for DC Rivals to shame.
  18. Whilst you are correct Andy, you might find the Voodoo has a thrilling point of difference over Dreamworld's claw! Both the Voodoo and Gravity Wave will be opening on Saturday 21st of October.
  19. Themeparks around the world that actually care about their customer service/experience offer lockers/storage boxes for FREE on all rides that restrict loose articles. That's the way it should be. Free lockers highly encourage your guests to abide by loose article policies/rules; ensuring that the majority of people use them. It also creates a positive message about how the park views rider safety.
  20. Funfields have released new teaser trailers for their 2 new rides this season; Voodoo and Gravity Wave. So exciting to see such strong marketing and emphasis on theme for these new ride. The Herald Sun also published an article yesterday about the new mammoth Gravity Wave waterslide. I've seen the slide in person...it is an impressive beast. Definite contender for best waterslide in Australia. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/new-gravity-wave-water-slide-at-funfields-theme-park-brings-zero-gforces-to-riders/news-story/e738589a183d22a0e4aa8fa423935641
  21. My goodness this footage is amazing!! The drones they are using to take this footage are insane!
  22. ^Can't you choose, or ask nicely, for the forward facing row you want to ride in? Because I always ask the grouper on Superman and Green Lantern, and 99% of the time they come to the party.
  23. ^Agreed! Such a great TVC/trailer. Universal HHN trailer quality. Very excited for this years event now; cannot wait!
  24. I too want nothing but the absolute best for all the parks in aus; especially Movieworld. It is a park I am extremely passionate about . Growing up and riding the looney tunes river ride, gremlins, batman adventure the ride, wild west falls, scooby doo and superman escape, gave me the themepark bug. These rides are the reason I am a themepark enthusiast.....the story, atmosphere and themeing on these rides were/are truly world class. I know that MW has the ability to produce very high quality, story based ride experiences. Because of the high standard I have seen before, I am disappointed with the themeing for DC Rivals. Such an amazing rollercoaster, deserves a much better theme, story and immersive queue line.
  25. @Theme Park I wouldn't got as low as describing Movieworld as 'Australia's answer to Six Flags'. But at this point in time, I would say it sits firmly in between a Cedar Fair park and a Universal park.
