Topgolf attraction coming to the Gold Coast
Troy81 replied to rac2703's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I drove past Movie World today and noticed that there was excavtors and temporary/construction fencing out the back heading towards Paradise Country. I assumed it may be where the resort/hotel was going. If any of you regular visitors to Movie World want to try and get some photos of this area it would be great. I am happy to follow any construction going on around our theme parks, not just updates on rides. -
Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction

Looks like another ride for the thrill seekers and nothing for the families. Don't get me wrong, I am excited for a new ride regardless of its theming. However, it seems the families are forgotten again. With Doomsday and then the Rollercoaster it really looks like nothing is happening for the juniors. Movie DC World are changing their market demographic, which the competition down the road will start cashing in on. -

Interesting to note the amount of temporary fencing still left on site. You have to wonder are they going to push the existing fencing out to create a larger space? I am looking forward to watching this area evolve. My have to finally reinvest in a pass. -

I believe the reason you don't see Superman walking around the park has something to do with he can't be in 2 places at once eg pushing a rollercoaster around and wandering at the same time. Sure that is in the licensing agreement.

Just a drive by of Aussie World today and found this in the car park. Looks like some kind of Kiddie Coaster. I could be wrong and would be happy to be corrected. Just thought you might like the photos. Couldn't find any shipping labels. Happy to see Aussie World continue to increase the number of rides. Will have another look next weekend.

The Wave Swinger is up. It has been built at the back of The Plunge. Easily visible from the highway. Another great addition to this growing park.

The first piece of track was put into place this morning. I didn't hang around all day to see if they lifted any more however as I was leaving they were setting the slings on another piece. It also looks like there will be some maintenance carried out on Vikings Revenge.

So I went to Seaworld today and took a few photos. The first 2 are quite possibly colums for the new ride. I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am. These photos were taken in the carpark and they are the only 2 containers onsite at the moment. It looks like they are spending a little money on refurbs too. This photo is of the reclaiming going on at the lake. All this sand is being dug up from the old Bermuda building where there still seems to be a lot of earth works going on. On another note, Seal Harbour looks good but it doesn't seem to be drawing large crowds.

I went to Movie World yesterday and finally got audio on Green Lantern. I rode in car 1. Can't say if the audio was working on the other cars. Must say it really adds to the experience.

Well done DreamWorld! Its nice to see you addressing the little things. It is these types of improvements/refurbs that keeps a great park going.
-
A bit off topic here, but Wyncenuros, did you also find MovieWorld to be really crowded for a weekday not on school holidays? The line up for Superman and Arkham were both well over an hour.

You summed that up nicely. There are so many memories that come back from watching these ads. I really wish going to one of these parks still had that feeling. The parks have taken away this magic by introducing the cheap annual passes so we conintually go and have maketed themselves acordingly to this. Take away the 'Magic' of a whole day and add a 'Thrill' that lasts for 20-30 secs. I will never forget the first time walking into Disneyland and it taking me back to my child hood memories of when I was a child at dreamworld.

I am already trying to convince my wife that we need to go back to Califonia.

Whats an attractio???
-
I was going to take my family to AW today but was put off by the $29 that I would have got charged for my 2 1/2 year old. Not really sure how many attractions a 2 1/2yr old can go on, so am spending my money elsewhere these holidays. I find it a bit rediculous that a small park would be willing to sacrifice patronage by charging for a 2+ yr old. Even the big parks don't start charging for children till they are 3.

I hope it is WWW stage 3. Looking at the crowd sizes today between the 2 water parks you can definately see that WWW needs some urgent additions. Then again I will be happy with whatever it is... even Big Brother.

Batman... the coaster!!!

Is great to see Australia getting another world first. Well done MovieWorld.

There is now 4 containers in the car park. and not all of them have China Shipping on them.

Thankyou Flea. Whats the secret to smaller pictures??? I am very excited for this new addition. It may no be a Major Coaster but I think it will have the appeal to the right demographic and is enough to draw the crowds back from Village Roadshow (for now). I understand that we as theme park enthusiasts expect/want a lot more from the parks in terms of attractions but to Joe Blog the appeal of this new coaster and the marketing of this ride has been very impressive, and I have not seen to much from the competition to compete (apart from what has been said on this website). I certainly have second guessed the passes I have bought.
