  1. I'm so certain that they will, I'd put money on it lol. The theming on either side of the white frames clearly cuts off abruptly, and there's a spiky bit to match the themed one next to it. so undoubtedly there are bits/covers that will slot over the top and give the ring a perpetual look, once they have finished doing the wiring or whatever needs doing inside the top part of the ring. ETA: Coincidentally enough whilst looking at that photo I took above, I realised there was some tiny writing on the frame and went in for a look. Thank God there was someone there who thought to point out which side was which and avoid a backwards ring situation ? (Ahh, I love the zoom on my camera ❤️)
  2. Last I read earlier today, the mob behind the show at Helensvale hadn't gotten approval from the council yet. So it may not even happen at all.
  3. I've had group interviews done two different ways for Village Roadshow. Two of them were being sat in a room at tables with about 15 other people, sitting through what is almost like a pre-interview orientation with a slideshow (where they tell you about job specifics) and then they set up chairs at one end of the room and pick people off one at a time to be interviewed. Sometimes there is more than one interviewer, sometimes it's one on one and other times it might be more - I've also had two on one. These group interview sessions were held in a recruitment room in the staff/admin area of the park. The other format was for Christmas casuals over all departments and parks, held a couple of years ago. There were around 50+ people at least, they split us all up into groups depending on the position/s we were applying for. I vaguely remember having to put on a wristband or a sticker or something to indicate these. We were led into the park and then all had to form a long line next to the STARS cafe entrance (opposite the department store) and each table up at the cafe had an interviewer sitting at it. There must have been about 10 of them. Candidates had to go up one at a time to be interviewed, as interviewers became free. When the interview was done, then you would be free to leave the park (they had security monitoring to ensure there were no runaways, but it was held at park close time anyway) and that was it. There wasn't a pre-interview orientation via this method. I guess it all depends on how many other candidates there are. But you'll find leading up to Christmas time, they are more likely to follow the second format due to the large number of vacancies available and people applying. My suggestion dress wise would be to dress to impress. I've seen many others dress smart casual to these interviews, but I have always gone the extra mile by wearing a formal button up short sleeved shirt and black pants/shoes, as per what they would expect me to wear on the job. Good luck! Hope that info helps. Got my fingers and toes crossed for you ?? PS. Oh, and btw, be prepared with an adequate response for the old "tell us about a time you've had to deal with a difficult customer and how you overcame it" interview question. I've been asked it every single time without fail for customer service related positions, including with Village Roadshow ???
  4. Just gonna disprove this theory right now with the following... ? They go all the way around the inside of the ring. *bows* haha ?
  5. Shhhhh.... Please stop posting confidential stuff from the Star Tour!
  6. Not unless they share the same theme. It's too early to call that, though. We will just have to keep speculating ?
  7. Yes there is still mazes going into the sheds, but I have good reason to believe that a themed bar/drink outlet (not necessarily alcoholic, either) is being built into that end for convenience of guests, since the new maze sheds are distanced so far away from other park food and beverage outlets. Make of it what you will, but it makes total sense to me ??
  8. Don't get too excited. I have good word that it's just a maintenance anchor point for the arm, to tether it and stop it from moving when they need to work on it ?
  9. Nowhere? I've been posted pretty much every day, my last photo update was at the beginning of this week. So the question should be, where have YOU been hiding? Haha ??
  10. If you're referring to me @AlexB, I think you've got the wrong fenced off area in mind lol ? It was the large fenced off swamp area at the front of the park where I spotted surveyors yesterday with their equipment set up ?
  11. Haha, I remember that servo. As a teen, I recall witnessing friends go through the HJs drive through to order food - driving through it in reverse. Needless to say, the staff were not amused
  12. That's exactly what they did for the Carnivale music artist meet and greets, which were exclusively for Premier & Elite membership holders only. They just put up a couple of signs publicly stating so, and tickets redeemed online with membership details had to be presented in order to go up to meet the star. Remember that late last year they also had that members only privilege running, that allowed early morning access into the park to ride rides for an hour or so before the general public. It could go either way, really...
  13. Some more info about the new store... Oddly enough there has been absolutely no work on it since early last week. The excavator was even in the same position as our original lot of photos when we visited 2 days ago ?
  14. They did, but the circumstances changed for that particular event, as the construction ran over time and well into the school holiday period. The park was forced to open the area to the public before it was 100% completed, as too many parents were complaining about no kids rides/area being available during peak period. So they unfortunately had to abandon the advertised soft opening for members ?
  15. As it's been previously mentioned and as screenshots of the Fright Nights website have also indicated, the ride is listed as a fast track option for peeps attending Fright Nights on Oct 1st & onward. So yes, it's pretty much confirmed it will be up and running by then, if not sooner since (as @reanimated35 has mentioned) the park is openly advertising that Premier & Elite membership holders will be given the first opportunity to experience the new precinct. This is likely to take place late September ??
  16. More comparison piccies. Finally the dude has been given a roller now... and an extra set of hands Getting the top of the launch hill done is going to be a challenge!
  17. Yeah I read your comments the first time @AlexB, still not thoroughly convinced though that it won't be unlike the Claw, especially since it swings back and forth in a similar manner before it loops. I guess it could very well be all in my head though, lol. I do hope you're right though, and I like your theory. I certainly want to enjoy it, and hopefully have it as a new favourite ride ??
