I bet this pass idea came about as a possible solution to the amount of locals who openly admit to eating outside of the parks, (possibly even leaving them early to do so) in order to save having to spend $$ on food at them. Like this.... Pre hunger buster pass = $0 (or a very minimal amount) made per person on F&B, since peeps leave the park for cheaper meal alternatives With hunger buster pass option = $149 per person made per year on F&B, which would add up overall. Encourages peeps to stay in the parks for lunch, visit on more days to make the most of this offer, and consequently would give them a better opp at making extra food and merch sales too. Makes total sense to me that way. Very clever if you ask me!

Geez I must always pick the bad times to visit the Cub Kindy. Whenever I go there, the handlers aren't showing any kind of interest in interacting with visitors, let alone offering to take cub photos on their behalf. I've tried taking my own but it's virtually impossible to get decent pics turn out because the viewing screens are so dirty/scratched ?

Lol, I read your response yesterday. Good call ?I just went to check it again to see if our mate Chris had responded, but can't find that chain of comments at all now. Seems he has deleted his original comment? Or maybe he has blocked me for having a different opinion (wouldn't be the first time ) who knows

I don't quite understand this... there isn't much information provided about how this works, no T&C or anything So you pay the $149, and that entitles you to one meal for every single day you visit any of the parks until end of June 2017? Is that what that means? What if you visit numerous times a week? Say, if I drop into Movie World 4 times a week (like I have over the past couple of weeks to get Doomsday pics) I am entitled to a meal every time I go? ETA: Is it just me, or is the "see available food outlets" link not working for this either?

Yep. Nope!

@POP I've already been on it. Must be your turn next ? -
Yeah, so call me a stalker. I call it light detective work whilst I am bored at home on a bloody cold sat arvo ?? But one only needs to do a quick search for the victims name on FB to see that the guy in question definitely does not appear to be disabled or in need of a carer. According to his profile he works at a fitness company. And yes, it's definitely the same bloke, because his mum has conveniently made public 'that's my son who was in the log ride accident' posts So, that coupled with the fact that not one source of news has mentioned any disabilities, I'm not convinced in the slightest that it wasn't the result of an act of recklessness and stupidity.

Haha, that coaster is insane! Rode it once a few years back and my sister in law and I couldn't believe we were still alive when we got off of it. We couldn't stop laughing about it afterwards. Talk about rough as guts lmfao. Loved the air time tho -
Would love to hear some opinions on what this guy is claiming in the comments... https://www.facebook.com/goldcoastbulletin/posts/10153668428747358?comment_id=10153668450022358&comment_tracking={%22tn%22%3A%22R9%22} Needless to say, I am at a loss here because he claims that "every media source" has reported that the victim has disabilities and that I should "google it". Yet I've done exactly that and can't find a single news story that mentions such a thing :/

Still forever hoping and waiting for a Silent Hill maze...... ??? -
Wait, what? So was that really you I said hi to on the night of Samantha Jade? Because I remember seeing that Benn guy floating around that evening as well (which made me wonder about the double 'n' haha) and yeah he did look just like you ? Hopefully it was you and not the imposter Slick. Otherwise I might have just made a complete fool out of myself to a complete stranger ???

Nice one, @pin142! Movie World I have had a lot of luck with, not so much the others though. I had one published today on their FB (the Batwing one) and a few before that over the past few months. I'm determined to get Dreamworld's attention one day with one of my photos. Heaven knows I'll keep trying ???
-
Except bloody Dreamworld's FB page... no matter how many photos of mine I have tagged and shared, to date I have had no success in getting them to share any So they apparently don't like them

A lady who is apparently starving and really needs to eat something asap?

All good dude, don't stress Although truth be told, my intentions for starting it were innocent... other than TPSN and Parkz, I actually didn't even know that any other theme park related FB pages existed until recently lol. As you guys know I go to the local theme parks a LOT, and I was starting to feel a little bad for the friends and family on my Facebook whom didn't live on the GC (or had no interest in theme parks) and were frequently being subjected to my photos and what not. A friend of mine who is a massive movie buff recently started his own movie review channel on Youtube, which gave me the idea of starting my own little spot for my passion, somewhere where I could split away my FB friends who did have an interest in my theme park related posts. I posted a status asking everyone if they would be interested in such a thing if I started one, got an overwhelmingly positive response, I got excited and began bursting with ideas, so I went ahead with it Initially it was intended to just be a blog for friends/family I know, but then one thing led to another... my frustrations toward TPSN drove me to want to do a better job at what he was trying (and failing) to do, which is why I stepped up to make it something of a bigger scale - converting my Youtube & Instagram accounts toward the same cause. Things have pretty much just rolled from there and turned it into what it is today. Still only have what I consider to be a large handful of followers @ around the 160 mark, but its still enough to drive me forward and continue making the best effort I can That and my rising interest in photography which I love sharing my efforts to the world with Lmfao!!! You're not wrong Tbh I started following his page a few years ago, when I was naive and didn't know there were better ones around. I guess up until now I had just attempted to keep the peace, but yeah bugger it, after today I am over it. I've already had a go at him in the past about deleting my posts and supposedly we were starting on a clean slate It's a shame he doesn't want to be a good sport and a team player like the rest of us who run theme park related stuff. The irony is that he pops up on my page from time to time and makes snark comments, despite the fact he has never bothered to 'like' it. So apparently he is keeping an eye on me. Not that I really give a shit anyway Thanks, and that's exactly the reason I made it a blog, to clarify that it's the theme parks from my POV and not as a standard view I also wanted to be able to make personal comments and opinions on things as well, kinda give them my own personal touch Yeah, that and I don't want to cause any conflict of interest with Parkz. Not that I see anything I have created as anywhere near the scale of this site or popularity by all means, nor do I intend to cause any kind of drama by running a theme park related blog! But I prefer to try and keep them separate regardless, as I admire and respect the huge effort that Richard has put into this website, and I wouldn't see it as fair to try and redirect any of his traffic away from this site. Man, I've been a member of this forum for 10 years now. Parkz is like my online home, and you guys are my family lol So despite running a blog out of personal interests, I am only happy to preach this site on my own page as much as I can, and do what I can to continue to help Parkz grow too. My loyalty is to this site. Richard knows this Hahaha, kinda reminds me of DJs these days (despite the fact I married one - at least he is a real one from oldskool days )... PS. Sorry this post is so long... sheesh... 6 hours at work tonight and come back online to a hundred posts I wanted to respond to, hahaha
-
Thanks @reanimated35? I appreciate your kind words. If us FB page/blog runners enjoy doing so and people do like to follow their content, I don't see the harm. Heaven knows I go to a lot of effort to try and keep mine up to date. But I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it, as I am sure it's the same case for others ☺️

Someone had posted a photo of a kamikaze in response to latest Doomsday pics, I just commented to them that the one at MW is a suspended twin hammer model that intamin manufactures. Apparently that was enough to somehow warrant my comment being delete worthy *eyeroll*
-
That's it. Just had another comment I posted on TPSN mysteriously disappear. Unfollowing his page. Sick of the censorship ???

In my experience, that's how theme parks tend to work. They close something down for maintenance, then depending on what issues they may be having with it at the time (ie. Old, too expensive to repair, no longer popular etc) the powers that be decide during that period whether it's viable to reopen or not. They very rarely seem to do soft ride closures, unfortunately ? I've seen it happen with countless rides now... Eureka, Bermuda Triangle, Corkscrew, Thunderbolt, Looney Tunes River Ride - just to name ones off the top of my head. All of these went into what everyone thought was annual or routine maintenance, only to never see them opened again. I think Batman Adventure is the only ride I can think of in which peeps got advance warning and a final opportunity to ride it? Although I wasn't living on the GC at the time, so sadly I didn't get a last go on it before it was removed ??
-
Hmmm.... what's the go with this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_Evilution I must have missed something, the only thing I can find on Dreamworld's webpage that is remotely related to the above sentence is a reference to the date, but its only in regards to when the attraction opens from annual maintenance.... Nothing is mentioned or confirmed there about the laser tag returning in any shape or form

I reckon tomorrow, going by how fast progress has been in the past couple of days. Shame I have to do a split shift at work over lunch & dinner, otherwise I'd go down there again to check it out Maybe Friday morning After seeing the ride with the first parts of the gondolas attached, I can totally see why they label it a "twin hammer" now. That's quite literally what it looks like!
