I know it's been brought up previously, but the extended downtime coming up for SE & WWF is pretty much confirmation to me of what MW employee said about them getting major refurbishments soon. I mean geez, they are both down for 2 months... in WWF case even longer, and throughout the duration of the June school holidays at that http://movieworld.com.au/plan-your-day/attraction-maintenance.aspx Definitely sounds like a lick of paint is on the way for both, along with lots of extra attention hopefully

Yes I'm aware of this @dmh, although they didn't sell it. They pulled it apart years ago to use as replacement parts on the current train. But if you read back a few pages in the Doomsday Destroyer topic, there's been speculation and ongoing discussion about them maybe building a second train. That's what my comment was in regards to

As promised... Also they are currently working on an AA train in the maintenance bay. Whether its a new second one, or the usual one, remains a mystery....

So I had a chat with a friendly staff member today, started off just asked about what's happening to the Arkham roof and it all rolled from there. Anyway, in a nutshell... - lots of freshening up going to be happening around the park over coming months. They are fixing up the Arkham roof because it has sun fade. Superman Escape is having its track repainted red for the same reason soon, wild west falls (as we already know) is also getting a big refurbish. - The person I spoke to mentioned special headsets being introduced as an option soon, I asked if it was the VR ones that they have recently brought out at American parks, she said "that's them". Don't know at this stage if it will be just to Wild West Falls or other rides too (since we were talking about WWF's refurb at the time) but either way they are apparently planned for the park. - She also mentioned the "mega" Coaster coming soon, although she said that staff knowledge about it is very slim, as it's very hush hush atm. Either way, she emphasised on Movieworld working on freshening up the park and making it look awesome again ???

Can see they are tearing off the wrap on the Arkham Asylum roof thingy. Looks like they have a new one to put on too. Dunno if you can see in these pics, but I'll upload my canon ones when I get home which are zoomed in better!

Yeah, some vines wouldn't go astray, that's for sure! Always awkward when you're travelling through that part, and there is random strangers gawking at you, hahaha. I also finally found out what is written next to that rust/patch spot on the Wipeout, too... I wonder if they mean "fixed arm" as in the arm without the bend in it, or that they supposedly fixed this arm - somehow - even though this spot is still an eyesore to look at?

^ Ditto. Never been on a ride during a break down, but witnessed others who have been. And I'm at the parks all the bloody time! So I must be pretty unlucky ? Always secretly hope that it will happen to me on Scooby Doo but it never does. People think I am weird for wanting a ride to break down whilst I'm on it! I do sometimes remind them that there is a difference between a breakdown and it actually breaking (ie. Green Lantern style) in which case I would much prefer the former ?? If I did have to go early though, I reckon (in a warped and twisted way) that death by Coaster would be a pretty stylish way to go out lol. Final Destination 3 style ?

Yes. He has messaged me out of the blue a couple of times this week. The first time was to inform me. That Dreamworld *apparently* has a doozy of a press release on the way. Wait for it... I nearly literally had to pick myself off the floor after reading it. He then told me that Sea World has a new rollercoaster coming next year as well. If anyone decides to share all this incredible news on their page, don't forget to give ALL credit to the Theme Park Social Network! ?

Forgot to say, yesterday was a good day to avoid Dreamworld. Never seen so many kids under 5 in one place before! And the prams.... Omg. This photo someone posted on Facebook pretty much sums it up: We rocked up AFTER the Wiggles had finished, and yeah, needless to say all the parents and babies stuck around for the day. Did I mention the prams?? ?? And the noise was atrocious as well, bloody loud kids everywhere we went. Oh, and prams too ? Never again.... ???
