  1. Wait... did the protesters buy tickets into Sea World just to protest at the dolphin show? Really???
  2. I'm doing the Stormtrooper weekend as well, although at this stage I'm not sure which day. More than likely the Sunday, unless hubby ends up getting Sat off work. Would be worth going on the latter for the steam train ??? Ha. If it's any consulation, my work day started at 12pm lol. I was within the second half of my split shift when I left ? Place was dead (seems everyone is holding out for mothers day tomorrow to go out for lunch) and we were overstaffed, so I was more than happy to volunteer to be one of two people to go early. Especially after working 12pm-12.30am on Thurs, still recovering from that ???
  3. Not me, sorry ? Had to work a split shift today and only finished at 7 (and that was an early mark, was supposed to finish at 10pm lol) I'd love to go back a third time, but don't know if I'll be able to. Will have to see ?
  4. Lol yeah I know, I know. I just wasn't thinking at the time I made that post lol ?
  5. Ha! Some of us have to work. As much as I'd just looove to go along and protest against silly American related animal issues that aren't really a problem here ?
  6. WWW = Wild Wild West is what I meant. But I see what you did there lol ?
  7. Thank you, and my pleasure ? I'm just as excited about the new area as you guys are, so I'm happy to do updates as often as I can. This morning I just drove down for an hour or so to check on construction progress and take some ride photos lol. Figured why not, since I have the day off work ?? I'll be back at Movie World on Sunday arvo as I'm taking my mum in for Mothers Day (she is up for the weekend from Melbourne and hasn't been to any of the theme parks in many, many years) so if there's anything new by then again, I'll be sure to snap and post
  8. Got some more gossip as well from park staff, whom have had numerous briefings about the new section of the park and been shown blueprints and artists' impressions of what the final version will look like! Apparently the new area will be fully interactive for kids. They will be given wristbands which they can scan at different points at each of the villain's corners and make things happen to them (explode, make green lantern appear etc). I'm gonna assume that this will happen on screens of some sort, otherwise the mechanics for such events are gonna be pretty full on lol. Apparently that building against the toilets which is already nearly complete is a bank, which will be Joker & Harley Quinns area. The overall area as it's being re-themed right now is supposed to represent Metropolis. Supposedly the show stage sign is going to come down in coming months as well and replaced with a 'Doomsday Destroyer' sign. The show stage building is obviously staying (funny, since another staff member told us a while back that it was going lol - grain of salt ??) but there will be no new related shows inside, it will only be used for functions and scare mazes. The Doomsday Destroyer will be made a bit taller once they add the motor block and what not on top of the current pole, so it's not gonna be much taller to what we can see right now. It will however have an elevating floor which lowers up and down with ride function. The staff confirmed the ride pole has a wrap around it, it's not painted. So there ya go, more new info to digest lol???
  9. Seriously? Is Pop the ringleader of this one???
  10. Oh good! Looks like they are intending to run it for Stormtrooper weekend instead ???
  11. Oh no!!!! Guess she isn't so fixed afterall ???? I forgot to mention that they added a naughty corner to DW. Watch out AndrewH ?
  12. What's to say that the ride parts that have been in view out the back of WWW are the only parts of it? There is a lot of shipping containers and other obstructions in the way, so they may very well have more further back, in the containers, or in another area altogether where we can't see them. Personally I am expecting they have more similar pole parts somewhere to the one that's just been installed, which make it a lot higher when vertically bolted together
  13. OK, now let's just hope that certain trolls don't have notifications turned on for new posts within their own topics... otherwise that may very well change again soon ???
  14. It's that big chunky bit they had next to the pole when it used to be out the back. I reckon they just have it in the pit temporarily until they erect it onto the pole? Eta: this bit
  15. Latest photos of Tiger Island construction zone. Lots of new brickwork going up Oh, and the Wipeout has been filled with water again. She must be behaving herself of late ☺?
  16. Here's some more from your friendly neighbourhood theme park girl ???
  17. Argh. Don't repost in this topic! It'll draw the trolls back ???
  18. ??? Not planning on there any time soon, btw.. was just super bored at work the other evening and was trying to locate it on google maps after reading the news article about it lol. The field above behind where the park is marked to be is all I could come up with, looked like there is a lot of random rubbish of some sort littered around and assumed it must have been ride remains. And I'm guessing the big crater is where a Coaster or slide or pool or something used to be.
  19. Where is the boneyard located on google maps? I type in Sydney's Wonderland and it zooms in to the area where it used to be, but not sure where to look from there. If you can even see anything from satellite view to begin with lol
  20. Maybe MW are trying to camouflage the parts, so we stop taking photos of them?
  21. And that's exactly the reason why we bought this one lol. I have to say though, was the first time in a long time that I have bought a CD! Most of the ones I get these days are prizes I have won in comps run by my local radio station ?
  22. Pretty sure it was both, as the meet and greet was an exclusive for Premier & Elite membership holders only (all of who were emailed the free tickets anyway) and it was closed off to everyone else. Maybe someone can confirm next week?
