  1. Lol!!! Believe it or not ? We bought our copy earlier in the week whilst at Woolies, however they did have a CD stand there last night next to the signing area, selling SJ's latest album and single (I know the singles were $5, the albums had already sold out apparently) According to one of the nearby signs, you HAD to have a CD in order to go up to meet her, which I was not aware of! So it seems there WAS a catch 22 in the end, even though the meet and greet tickets were being offered for free for premier & elite members - compulsory purchase first ?
  2. I thought it broke down? Either way, it caused quite a panic with MW staff. We were standing near where it happened, and the thing got swarmed by operations staff. Then everyone in the crowd cheered when someone else jumped behind the wheel and finally got it started again lol. Samantha Jade went off with a bang, as expected. Absolutely awesome performance ??? I ended up having the loaded fries x2 (one for me, one for my bring-a-friends lol) and a $10 serve of the bacon, which was very nice btw ? I intended to get something of more value, however I struggled to finish the fries, they filled me up really fast, haha. Bought two of the refillable Carnivale mugs. Got a quick ride on scooby at the very start of the evening. Did the meet N greet with Samantha Jade, which was worth the 45 Min wait in line to see my 11 year old's face light up with excitement when we went up to meet her and get our CD album signed lol ? All in all it was another great night ? Oh, and by the way, I finally met my first fellow Parkz member whilst he was hard at work filming the concert. Hello again, @Slick!!! Was awesome catching up with you this time, dude. Hope you get that good night's sleep tonight haha ?
  3. What do you mean? It's a table in the studio room next to where the stage is setup. The artist sits in there, fans line up, the artist signs autographs and gets photos taken with fans. Same as any other meet and greet, really, so I thought it would be self explanatory. I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're asking exactly, otherwise I'd answer it better?
  4. Yeah, you should have gotten an email invitation. That's what I got...
  5. " For package details and helicopter parking click below." Helicopter parking? Oh thank God. And here I was, worrying about where I was going to park my helicopter when I visit Dreamworld for my VIP experience Seriously though, with price tags like that, I'd be surprised if anyone other than celebrities and wealthy people can afford such a thing
  6. Bring a friend deal is happening for tomorrow night again. Just got the email. Seems to be an ongoing promotion each week for this year's Carnivale
  7. Ah ok. See I was down near the entrance before the parade started, so I have no idea sorry lol.
  8. If it's the Big Top mob you're referring to, they have just confirmed that they will be continuing to perform until the end of May ☺
  9. Just leaving this here for anyone who didn't get it in their email box lol...
  10. So the latest bombardment of angry complaints on Movieworlds Facebook wall is in response to this news article, where a MW staff member allegedly told a publicly breastfeeding parent to relocate to a toilet. Hmm..... http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/babies/movie-world-under-fire-for-reportedly-telling-a-gold-coast-woman-to-breastfeed-in-toilet/news-story/dbf8edda3ce4b2e83d9b343c64febcb3
  11. So I decided to lash out this time round and get the Southern Sampler lol. It will just be me and the kids attending this Sat nite (hubby is working again ) so there is no point in getting the Seafood boil up, since you need to pay for a minimum two people. From what I gather it will work in my favour, since I won't have to fiddle around so much with $$ on the spot, and also I think it works out cheaper than buying 3 food items on the night? Either way, I am sure the kids will help me eat them all if I don't Any recommendations, other than the bacon (which I intend to buy separately)? I had the soft shelled crab Po Boys baguette last time round, which was yummy but also a bit hard to eat. So would like to know what the best offerings are to use my sampler with
  12. Just stumbled across this article from earlier in the month... apparently a buyout of Ardent Leisure may be on the cards soon? Seems to be a lot of interest generating in taking over the company. Obviously if this happens, Dreamworld is gonna go with it, and could be seeing new and different things on its horizon with the park having another new owner. From what it sounds, it wouldn't be too bad if this Cerberus mob took the reins for DW, given it says they already own and operate a large handful of amusement & water parks overseas http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/dataroom/takeover-the-theme-around-dreamworld-owner-ardent-leisure/news-story/11f48994c217cdbb417815c5087d8803 Thoughts???
  13. Haha, was coming on to post the same thing. Great minds ??? It says external access, so it will have to be right at the front of the park. I'm thinking even the retail shop outside the exit gate? Or in the marketplace there somewhere? Another Dreamworld article for today by the GCB, this time about their food lol: http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/lifestyle/gold-coast-theme-parks-stage-a-food-revolution/news-story/fc0ea4a3a445d6461e7489ea24989fef
  14. @rac2703 was obviously mistaken, as both Spotty and I attended Dreamworld on Sunday, not Anzac Monday. And yeah, as others have said, that wasn't a public holiday, nor were the other parks closed. It was just a very busy day in general. I'm sure the other parks would have been the same (if not worse) on that day, I know Movieworld's car park looked pretty full when we drove past on the way to DW. I guess that's to be expected when it's both a long weekend and the end of the school holiday period for other states.
  15. Hubby mentioned something when we were there the other day, about reclaimed land having to be left to settle for a number of years before it can be utilised or built on again? This may possibly be the reason why Sea World are leaving it vacant in the meanwhile? If its true, they may have no choice if they have to follow certain council or government rules and regulations, as a large portion of that land has been reclaimed from the lake.
  16. Sounds like Justin. He's known to be one of the most entertaining ride ops there
  17. Yeah. They had a bit of an opening parade thing where the skull float came out, and a few dancers. Then they had both ribbon and hoop aerial stunts, about 3 different ones. I think they had someone singing on the stage too before the parade (not the X Factor people) with dancers, but I can't remember very well.
  18. I don't recognise those performers from opening night (we wandered around a fair bit for the first hour or so) however there were numerous aerial acrobatic shows going on in front of the big screen prior to the parade. Is this part of the group you're talking about?
  19. Haha, it was worse when they had no traffic control! Nowadays I always park up the back outside the car park, so I don't even have to worry about dealing with that side of things. If the grassed area is roped off, I park next to the exit road. Generally I am outta there in a couple of minutes, once someone is kind enough to let me merge in ? And yeah, we are very keen for Samantha Jade next week, too. Her music is a lot more pop/dance than the previous two (which I prefer) so she should go off with a bang when she performs live ??? ETA: this is one of my fave songs of hers, look forward to hearing it live, should get the crowd jumping lol ☺☺☺
