  1. Not the actual message, no. But it was just a Facebook comment I made with a screenshot of your original post from here, which I still do have on my phone (hence the 10.17am time stamp, as I took it just a minute before posting): I basically just told them that the parts of the new ride had actually been there since Saturday, as per your original post and photo about it. The post was swiftly deleted within a couple of minutes ?
  2. @The_Ninja_59 not sure if it was the exact same photo, but looks a heck of a lot like it, from the same angle and everything. I think the sky may be different in his, though. Either way, the post I made was just to point out that you had already broken the news here on Parkz over the weekend about DD's arrival, and thus not breaking news from today as implied by them. It was gone a few minutes later. I then posted asking why my post got deleted. Guess what happened to that ? ETA: lol wtf, now they are telling people a looping Coaster is going into the new construction site ???? Talk about misinforming people! Especially when so many are under the impression the page is officially affiliated with the parks :/
  3. Lol the admin behind that Theme Park Social Network fb page are touchy, aren't they? They only just announced this morning that the Doomsday parts have arrived at Movieworld, along with a photo almost identical to the one Ninja shared on here days ago. Just tried to point out that they actually arrived on weekend, not today, and my post got deleted LOL! Heaven forbid they don't be the first source of news lol. They are a bit slow this time round. Ninja deserves the credit for breaking the Doomsday arrival to MW ?
  4. Yeah, I am thinking the star shaped cylinder bits at the end of the green ones kinda look like the star shaped cylinder bits under the light pink end bits of the arms in that ride photo... if that makes sense, hahaha
  5. Was around 2pm, and there were a couple of mechanics in the operating room. Pretty sure it was final test cycles before reopening from recent scheduled maintenance.
  6. Hmmm... now the fun part.... trying to work out which parts of the ride they are lol. Any ideas?? XD
  7. Yeah I agree, it's pretty awesome hey. I love the new version ???
  8. The current 3 minute one, as it has been for the past year or two. And yeah I am aware of the older longer cycle, as I've been going on it since when it opened in the mid 90's lol. They long retired that cycle though, probably because they think the shorter one is more queue efficient. I can see the possibility of them maybe changing to different cycle modes with enough interest, but I don't expect them to be using ones longer than the current one.
  9. I went 2 days ago when they were doing empty test cycles of it, but it was the same usual one. Unless they have decided to change it since then, but I am not holding my breath. I did add my 2c to a recent DW post in which someone asked if they would change the cycle (I agreed with them) so you never know.
  10. Tiger Island refurb pics for today: Annnnd what's a Tiger Island related post without a cute baby Tiger pic thrown in for good measure? ?? Also Big Brother signage has been removed:
  11. I find it mildly amusing that MDMC has managed to make nearly every single least favourite ride list posted in this topic lol... not surprised, but amused nonetheless. Poor Dreamworld must be kicking themselves over that costly unpopular investment!
  12. Lol. Same problem with Scenic Railway in Luna Park Melbourne ?
  13. Favourites: Lethal Weapon - she's a little rough, but bloody awesome mate. Been my #1 fave since the day it opened ??? Green Lantern, Hot Wheels, Scooby Doo, Storm - all intermediate thrill coasters, which are my favourite type. Not tame, but also not too intense like some of their bigger brothers ie. SE, Buzzsaw, TOTII etc Wipeout - usually not a spin and spew fan, but I can handle this one. Was one of the first thrill rides I ever went on as a young teen (directly after the Thunderbolt, which was my very first) so I hold a soft spot for it. Least Favourites: The Claw - because it made me shake uncontrollably the one time I rode it years ago. Hated it, just wanted off the entire time. Giant Drop - because I dislike drop rides immensely (probably related to my elevator phobia lol) but I did tick it off my bucket list as a fearless teen. Batwing Spaceshot - same deal as Giant Drop, despite being a different style ? Pandamonium & Shockwave - I haven't been on either but refuse to because they are spin and spew rides. Although I did go on the Redback at Aussie World which is the same style of ride as Shockwave. Was dry reaching when I got off haha ?So nope. MDMC - is an explanation even required? ?
  14. We don't know at this stage. See previous posts above regarding the lair area
  15. Anybody want to be in the next Seaworld TV ad? ?
  16. The Freestyler song version used on Hot Wheels is just the original album version of the track, exact same as they used for the official music video: Fun fact: I owned a copy of the Bomfunk MC's album when I was a teen, used to listen to it at TAFE non stop ?? On another note, I'm assuming you guys have all seen the 360° Dreamworld 'on ride' video of the HWSW by now... (if not, don't watch it here as it doesn't work the way it's intended to, click on it and watch it on YT for the proper effect) which I think is the most awesome video of it:
  17. Omg, I have only ridden the Scenic Railway the one time and it was one of the the roughest rides I had ever been on. So bumpy!!! I spent most of the ride trying to help my (very tall, about 6' 3") best friend protect his knees from becoming heavily bruised, as he kept banging them over and over on the front part of the train due to the turbulence. Sadly he still stepped off feeling and looking like he had just been smacked in the shins with a steel pole a dozen times over. Just the one ride on that was enough for me ? I have NFi either how that brake dude can stay standing on the same thing either ? The ones up here are heaps better and a lot less turbulent, although AA/LW is showing it's age these days and some parts of it can jiggle you around a fair bit - specifically the part where you go through the double corkscrews and just before you go into the horizontal loop at the end... it's rickety as hell, hahaha. But overall it's still fun. The steel tracks provide a smoother experience than the old wooden ones that SR has, as do the trains which have harnesses installed to specifically try and buffer out any track turbulence. But tbh I wouldn't even out the SR on the same scale as these two, they are two totally different and I dare say a heck of a lot more enjoyable. Just my 2c based on my experience ☺
  18. Lol! THANK you Brad. I enjoyed the joke but agree that it's well and truly time to move on now. My notification system has been throttled enough over the past 24 hours Hmmm... I am having visions of dark purple, red and black. Dark colours which represent Villains (not counting Batman of course ), and maybe armageddon style earth and fire features?
  19. Well I'm going to go against the grain of the majority of opinions here and say that I absolutely love the HWSW! I think its a massive improvement to what was a tired out coaster. Sitting in the front row I reckon enhanced the experience as well, as coupled with the new smoother train, it gives you the sensation that you're flying. Don't get me wrong, I always liked the Cyclone, but found myself avoiding it in recent times because it was too rough and run down, plus it was turning into a real eyesore. So I think the Cyclone into Hot Wheels refurb has been a much needed and, for me personally, a pleasant surprise, given I initially didn't think it would really be anything to encourage me to ride it regularly again. But I have a new love for it now, the harnesses are so much more comfortable and buffer the bumpy track heaps. I dare say that I think they are better than the Arkham Asylum ones, which become increasingly uncomfortable on your legs throughout the duration of the ride (The last time I rode it and we were pulling into the station, I had one leg going numb from the pressure lol). And that's saying a lot from me, given AA is one of my beloved all-time fave rides due to my long standing history with riding it over a hundred times lol. I still love it, but I also somewhat dislike the new harnesses as well because of this problem, which takes away from the enjoyment. I think its cool with HW having the onboard music. However I STILL stick to my opinion that it would look so much cooler if the track was repainted (orange and blue!) to match everything else ie. the traditional Hot Wheels toys theme. Despite being a V8 racing fan, the Peter Brock experience for me is a bit 'meh' (I'm a Ford/PDR/Frosty fan, so the only thing that really appeals to be is the resident Pepsi Max FPV at the end lol) but even though it doesn't appeal to me personally, I agree that its a good new addition. Plus its great to have an air conditioned themed area to eat lunch in. Speaking of which, we did do that last visit and bought lunch from the new shop... I purchased a salt and pepper calamari salad and hubby bought one of the signature burgers (can't remember what its called, four wheels something maybe?) and we really enjoyed them. My only complaint is how they sell the chips separate instead of coming included with the burger. Would be good if they had meal deals of some sort, like they do at the other park food outlets? Overall its a thumbs up from me
