  1. More likely to be the Peter Brock cars... heaven help us if they were ever to convert Eureka into a car themed attraction. Queue the uproar lol.... Ahahaha now there's an interesting type of soap ???
  2. Or in my case, they did when the ride first opened but can't really remember particular features from that long ago ??? I do remember the red vertical rope lights in the warehouse and the laser lighting in that section originally being a lot more impressive, however... I recall there being a lot more of them to begin with.
  3. "she" meant lol And yeah... my point being that the TPSN was posting stuff like this up on their FB yesterday.... ...when it clearly wasn't the case, as they weren't making passes yesterday and turning people away. So obviously the guy behind that FB page had no idea ?
  4. If this is indeed true, then all I can say is.... Happy days
  5. All my favourite horror flicks are by different film companies and not VR, so I'm at a loss for ideas. But I dream of one day seeing either Resident Evil or Silent Hill themed Fright Nights by some random miracle lol ???
  6. Aw, ok. I'll take your word for it guys and wait till she is older. She will be disappointed, but I'll explain to her that it's for the best. At least she will still have the other two events later on to look forward to (they had better be more family friendly lol) ???? I will have to see if I can talk one of my other friends into coming, maybe even my sister if I can talk her into getting one of these new memberships ? Thanks for your honesty and the heads up.
  7. In what sense, other than the obvious (scary/horror themes)? My daughter is hard to scare... she just recently completed the BiG9 thrill ride challenge at Dreamworld lol ??? We've also watched a few vids on YT of previous Fright Nights and she says she still wants to go. Besides, I don't really want to go alone ????
  8. Yeah nah, I thought the same thing and posted about it a couple of pages back, but someone said it has apparently always said that.
  9. I stuck my head in the arcade today for a stickybeak. The dodgems are completely sectioned off with divider thingies and have parked arcade machines in front of them. They also have closed the roller door closest to its entrance. Can't really tell what they are doing in there! I'm very excited for Fright Nights. Never been to a Movieworld special event night before, and this will be my first one. It will be my 10 year old daughter and I attending, ready to get our asses scared off lol
  10. Grrr... went to Movieworld today for the sole purpose of picking up our new/upgraded membership passes, went to the Membership Center (the Bank at MW, for those who are wondering) only to be told that they weren't making passes today and to come back another day! Somewhat of a waste of time, given that it was fairly busy and little chance of getting on the rides Apparently the dude who runs the Theme Park Social Network FB page had no idea either, as he was advertising it as being open all day for pass upgrades :/
  11. Yeah I think it's safe to dismiss the rumours of them demolishing it! I believe there is enough evidence now to suggest they are in fact repairing it in prep for reopening... why else would they be buying new parts and doing test runs? ??? What I am trying to work out now though is if that cart the dummies are sitting in is one of the old original ones, or a new/modified one? Does it look any different to you guys?
  12. Ta da! Test dummies and packaged new parts spotted today
  13. I was under the impression of "unlimited" in this case meaning that, unlike the previous magic passes, these new memberships don't run out and continue indefinitely on a month to month basis... not so much anything to do with access to the park.
  14. Technically it's not "anytime"... you have to give them 30 days' notice.
  15. ETA: So it works out to be approx. $144 a person. Is this reasonable for a Gold pass? Either way I've decided to go ahead and convert our current ones to these new membership passes, since we do have the option to cancel in July next year anyway after the 12 month contract period ends if we change our minds (yes I read the T&C lol) ;p Apparently these new cards have to be picked up from the "Membership processing center"....I'm guessing it's at Movieworld.
  16. Well, here's all the official info about the new "membership" option.... http://themeparks.com.au/box-office/memberships/about.aspx Wtf??? I just put in all mine and my family's details to upgrade to these new membership passes (the $10 upgrade thing) and noticed this at the bottom of the membership agreement page: Ok so obviously this is for 4 passes (2 x adult, 2 x kids) but I multiplied it over 12 months and the total comes to $576??? That's like nearly $300 more than what we paid for our current ones.... surely the Gold ones aren't that much more expensive?? Or these new memberships a lot more pricey than the Magic Passes???
  17. I just hope they make it an extra option instead of a replacement for the current annual passes. I'm happy making a one-off payment per year for 4X passes instead of having monthly payments coming out of my bank account... bugger that.
  18. Nope, that's all we've seen it do, including on it's opening weekend! Apparently runs differently to the one at Movieworld... designed for *very* small children :/
  19. Yeah, that. A replacement idea as such, not so much comparing the scale of the attractions themselves. They announced Storm & Wild to be for 2013-2014 era, we get Storm & COTD instead for 2013-2015. Seems pretty self explanatory to me, even if it took the extra year to get up and running.
  20. An official said this morning on the MW FB page that despite the sale ending at midnight last night, they are running it for a few extra hours today. I suspect its because a few people were complaining yesterday about technical issues whilst trying to purchase them online.
  21. Sounds like fun.... https://themeparks.com.au/box-office/movie-world/pyjama-party.aspx
  22. Nice to finally see ALL the food & merch outlets open at Dreamworld for once. Even ones I've never seen open before (Fast Foods, Snack Attack, Tiger Island plus that one at the Crocodile pit) were open yesterday! These ones remained closed during the Easter holidays. The park looks great with everything open and running
