A mine ride, which is a wild mouse just like SDSC... hmm, I think I would pass. However, I'd love an indoor ride like Indiana Jones or Spiderman!
-
Road Runner was running past 9pm, but the queue entrance had the 'not open' sign up. I just assumed that it was closed and they were running the last of the people through.
-
In regards to Superman, I am shocked! I didn't line up for it but I kept walking past and even waited out front to see if there were two trains running... must have been slow operations. And Gazza, when they asked me if I'd like cheese and onion, I said no. So it was just a plain hot dog.

Dreamworld is a full-day park. Movie World and Sea World can be split up into half-day parks.

Oh, also... can anyone please tell me how they can justify charging people $11.95 for a plain hot dog and a bottle of water?!

I went to tonight's event and was left quite unimpressed. Firstly, the rides closing at 9pm (all outdoor rides) closed their queues at around 8:40pm. Most of the rides and attractions that closed at 11pm cut off their queues at around 10:30. This resulted in the park being quite boring after 10-10:30pm. Now, onto the mazes... I went into all three mazes and thought the Bedlam Manor was best. You pretty much walked through different horror-themed rooms and had a few scary people look at you. The Dragon Alley was just a pitch-black maze with a few things touching you and a guy that pops out and follows you. The Fun House featured a few rooms that were filled with bubbles etc. and some not-so-scary clowns. I do admit though, I did get a fright or two in each maze. The rides were VERY badly organised. Mainly Superman, which had its line well and truly out of the building (yes, all the switchbacks were full) and only one train was running. Lethal Weapon was also running one train, but the line didn't really warrant it. The Nightmare House film was really lame. It was pretty much just a few short films thrown together. In addition, Main Street needs MANY more actors and shows. The rock band that appeared last year was much better than the show they have now. One show in Main Street just isn't good enough. More so, the show stage really should feature a show with a high production value because there just isn't enough to do IMHO. A few general notes... - Wild West Falls needs a big overhaul some time soon. Some of the buildings in the ghost town need to have their backings replaced because you can see right through them. Also, the interior of the ride needs to be fixed up because in many parts it has broken off. - The Take 1 shop now has two big signs promoting the Road Runner on-ride photos and a plasma out the front displaying these photos. Looks REALLY bad... - The shop on the corner that separates the bank and Batman cafe is under construction... anyone know what is going in there? I am going again on the 30th with another group of friends. I will take some pictures then.

LW closed at 9pm? Apparently it's meant to stay open until 11pm. And how were the mazes?
-
Do we have any idea where the second maze will be this year?
-
I'm certainly going to this! I'm glad that they have extended the hours for most of it. Now I can get the rides that close at 9pm done first and go back for the rest. Hopefully they do a good job with the second maze this year... last year's was pretty much just random fences.

^ Any extra competition is good! However, look at our food prices... not much good competition has done there! Although, Costco looks promising. Has anyone been there yet? -
Will this count as another credit? Is there an official rule in regards to rides that change their trains and names? Back on topic... I really hope that they do something with the theming, because a new train (in my opinion) doesn't really justify a name change. I know they can market it as something new, but if people go to the park and just see a new train, they're not going to be very happy. But if they do something special with the theming, then I feel it may reflect on the park better. However, I can't imagine many people would go to Sea World just because of this 'new' ride.

I saw the show on the first day it opened to the public. They did that camera stuff with the audience from day-dot, didn't they? I will admit that some humor has been added, although 2 cars have been removed... So the 2 cars being removed really takes away from the good stuff that has been added. Hey, on the GCCC website, there is something about phase 2, what is that?

- Re-theme Superman's building to look like a real metro terminal. - Install new Vekoma trains on Lethal Weapon or replace the attraction. - Upgrade the lighting in the park (Main Street lights replaced, other areas installed with colourful lights verses normal spotlights) - Extend the park hours til 9pm on public holidays (weekends if the move is popular) with a discounted rate after 5pm. This encourages people to come in late and therefore purchase dinner. - Knock down the Batman Adventure building. Open up a Batman-themed area with a restaurant. - Replace the current Batman food outlet with a small stage and theme it appropriately. - Look into a future movie-themed attraction.
-
True that. Wasn't sure if it was in connection with that (I was told that only Xmas holidays have extended hours and the next set of holidays aren't for a few weeks anyways) or the rules were unpopular.

Guys, I just checked on Movie World's website and the rides and attractions now on at 10am. Also, Planet SOS is being replaced with another film. Sorry if someone else mentioned it before me.
-
As long as you can easily get in and out of the rides and fit into the seat with the lapbar/overhead restraint locked into position, then I'd imagine that it is not a problem. I have seen some large people riding so I really don't think it would be too much of a problem. Then again, it's hard to judge because I don't know how big you are... and figures can only give me a rough estimate. Best thing to do is ring the park.

When I spoke to Noel Dempsey at the start of this year, he told me that he planned to turn that area of Ocean Parade into an events area where companies could hire it out and such. I guess these plans have finally flourished.

Why would you boycott them? The park is LONG gone and it's not like they directly purchased the land from Wonderland which lead to its closure... Come on mate, I think you're over-reacting just a tad, don't you think? -
How does the ice cream shop look? Is it a dodgy job?

I do NOT agree with the removal of the Motocoaster. It is still a good family roller coaster. That's just plain stupid. It still works fine and adds more rides for guests to choose from, which lessens the lines for other rides. I'd love to see DW's themed areas get a touch up and then a large roller coaster built. One that can handle 1,000+ people an hour.

Don't forget the comment about how Superman has high-speed loops. -
I just hope they do a decent job of it. I really hate how Jet Rescue is themed and how BT has ended up. I hope all three rides receive a big theming makeover, however, I don't think they would do anything to Jet Rescue at this early stage.

I once went to WWW for half the day during winter. Was quite good. Got on all of the rides in a very short space of time. The only line that had more than 10 people in it was the SuperTubes. However, it was very cold and you need to think about if you'd enjoy it or not. Would you rather stand in line nice and warm or walk around the park (out of a line) freezing.

Went to Movie World again yesterday. All rides were fine except LW and Superman. LW was closed and Superman was running one train, with waits exceeding 90 minutes most of the day! At some points the line was 'nearly' to the end of the line -- with the spill out queues in front of the lockers being used. Scooby Doo's line was outside the building (using the spill out queues) however an extra ride op was being used to split up groups. It was a nice touch. Don't know what's up with Superman's second train...
-
I went yesterday also, and I found the park to be quite busy. Superman was running one train, and waits exceeded 60 minutes throughout the day. Scooby Doo also had a wait of over 60 minutes, although not much can be done for that. With no surprise, Roadrunner was also running just one train, and lines were long, however not a major problem. Scooby Doo was working fine expect the last room, which didn't have a laser to hide the drop. However, I feel Main Street needs an overhaul of some of the buildings. The building behind the main screen and the ones above the photo shop are the worst. Finally, HWSD apparently only has two working cars which means the show isn't as 'action packed' as it was with four police cars. PS, here is an attached image of that 'smell machine' outside the ice cream shop. Isn't it tacky!
