  1. Well, I'll be posting a video of the first bit very shortly on R-C. I could tell people if they PM me but I would try and wait for the video because words don't really do it justice. (keep in mind though, the video will be unedited and won't be the whole thing...the damn thing lost batteries half-way through)
  2. I can Melbourne getting a small SpaceShot one day in the next 5-10 years. I've always felt it would be a perfect ride for the park. Though I can't see Sydney getting anything like that because of its hight and the units around it.
  3. Movie World should do a weekly/monthly night event. With no themeing but just rides at night time. I think Movie World would still make a killing if they charged $20-30 each night for 3-4 hours. Let's not forget them getting the chance to charge for dinner, which in many cases is the most expensive meal.
  4. Scariness is low unless you do the Dare Doors. Behind one was the scariest thing I ever saw. No joke.There's a lot "weird" and "freakish" things throughout the house though. I recommend it to everyone who lives in the area and has an afternoon free. Also the themeing is well put together. Each level has its own theme. Each level is accessed by a staircase with a "city/scary" kind of theme... nothing special. Just rock music and a dirty feel.
  5. Yeah, the media event happened last week and its been open since Wednesday. The house is really really well themed...the pictures DO NOT do the house justice.

  7. Man, It's just not that easy. I do know there's parts that are being re-done though I'm not sure what parts. I do think though they've done some work over the past year to fix the place up. (I Think) I have never stayed there but the website's pictures look good.
  8. Nah, I just used my old Cannon PowerShot A520. It's an okay camera but, I'll be getting a SRL for Christmas. I'm looking at a few cameras, one of which is a Canon EOS 400D. (as seen below) Thanks for the positive feedback guys
  9. The night started with huge crowds at the front gate, and I was already thinking to myself, "Am I sure this was a good idea?" Anyways, I entered the gates and they had us all crammed up like ants until the "official" opening for that night. When they were ready to let us free, they did a little count down, "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" and then it was almost like a gun went off, and everyone started running down Main Street. The first ride I hit was Superman Escape; it was only about a 20-minute wait as I got there straight away. The ride at night was just...out of this world! The view from the top hat was amazing. The lights and fog really did make the park seem "different" and somewhat, "scary". The second ride I hit was Lethal Weapon; which was the first time I ever rode the coaster. The line was about a 20 minute wait and it seemed to stay around that all night, with two trains running. I rode the blue train and I can tell you, there are NO new seats. They are the same old ones I have seen in pictures for ages and, the head banging was still there...BIG Time! After that I ate a world-class (Cough) Hot-Dog from one of the Main Street food vans and while eating, I was admiring the Main Street themeing. The themeing was good, but let me say this, it was not anything close to the US park’s themeing for the event. Anyways, after that I headed down to check out Kids' WB! Fun Zone. The lighting in that end of the park was bare and Movie World used those “portable hire” lights to light up the area; making the area look no way near as spooky as the rest of the park. Road Runner had around a 15-minute wait with two trains running. After that, I headed down to Intencity to ride the bumper cars. They were very busy and the ride operator had to spilt everyone into groups, as it was too busy to let people go solo. After that, I went into the Fright Zone to check it out. It was short, but sweet. The area was placed in the alley leading up to Lethal Weapon. The actors were well done and the area was themed to a good standard, but again, nothing to the US Park’s standard. I managed to pay one of the actors back, by scaring him when he was walking away. He did not see it coming, and he did jump back when I did it. Though, I felt a little bad afterwards. Afterwards, I managed to check out some of the shows in the Plaza (AKA. Main Street) and they had one with Elvis. Who was alive again? I guess that is the “scary” bit that’s to do with Halloween. He did make jokes like, “I’ve been dead for ages so I’m doing a pretty good job.” or something along those lines. It did not upset me but I am sure some Elvis fans might have been a little upset. Maybe? I must say the whole park had staff everyone, including many in the car park for car control. I was very pleased with the effort Movie World put into the night, considering they are the only park in Australia doing it, so there’s no need for them to really try that hard. I didn't ride these rides, but I'll just tell you how big the lines were: BATWING: Line was back as far as the ride's entrance. SDSC: In the spill-out queue. Superman, later that night: The line was outside the building; about 20 metres back.
  10. Yes, why I'm saying that if it did not go to GC, people really wouldn't care about the other parks, IMO.
  11. Yes, but some people can only afford to visit Melbourne or the Gold Coast. Which one would you choose?
  12. It will make the Gold Coast parks work harder, in a way, because people will by-pass the smaller GC parks and go straight to Disneyland.
  13. The train line could go underground? So they think they would rebuild the line? (or the rise the land around it?
  14. Disney's train has ALWAYS been a loop around the park. Not a GOVT. owned train that would go straight thru the park?The Queensland Govt. would have to have access to the line 24/7 and I can't see disney having a 10 metre gap on both sides of the track, along with enough head room to support power lines. Also, don't forgot, big cranes need to go in to build the upgrade that's headed for the GC line, and Disney would need to have nothing on the top of the line.Also, who the hell is SoulVision? I did a Google search and nothing came up. EDIT: Also, I found it funny that you managed to understand WWW_WORKER's post...haha you're very smart. It takes me about 5min mostly to work out when one sentence ends and begins.

  16. I was told not to say parks, though it wasn't Disney. And I'm not saying what I heard was correct, but what the person told me was that Disney was not going into Australia within 5-10 years.
  17. I'm not real sure though got the idea that it was a large US group. It can't see Disney setting up in Australia in the near future. Sorry, I just can't...
  18. I've heard from people that there's talk of a new park, though it's not Disney. I'd watch out for a different US company thinking of setting up here.

  20. I agree with Gazza on this one. I wouldn't like to see three Batman's, or three Shreks.And yeah, everyone would want to get photos. In an evacuation, I couldn't see a giant Shrek being much help... Also, wouldn't their vision be impaired with the costumes? If so, that's a problem in its own... EDIT: I think he is saying that because LW is themed to a car chase.
  21. Yeah, It's another media "beat-up". It's not going to happen anytime soon. Don't believe anything until Disney release the information officially.
  22. A stunt show like L,M,A stunt show would be good if they just added a story line to it and cut out the "filming" bit.
  23. Let's look at the cost of the new show. I believe they will be totally re-building the area to cope with heavy moto-stunts. I would personally like the area to be themed like the stunt show in Paris, but with a totally new story line.
