  1. Anyone end up booking the Silverwood Asylum? I think I have some bad news for you...
  2. I'm not a huge fan of heavily-themed hotels. Even the Disney ones. I would like an art deco-style hotel though.
  3. I've always found the MW bathrooms to be quite gross on the floors in the afternoon. I think its just water and dirt which forms the horrible muddy slime.
  4. Interesting feedback guys. How did the two new mazes feel in terms of size (not length)? I remember last year they felt "tight", and people were saying that was because of the UTT stuff. A few years ago we were starting to get some pretty big sets built within the mazes.
  5. Conjuring 2 maze/theme seems more scary... but I don't really watch horrors so who knows what'll actually be best.
  6. I agree the Legends dining room is far from perfect. I had the misfortune of having Christmas dinner there, but I think for Halloween it might actually suit the location more, perhaps? Depends on the theming inside, I guess.
  7. It seems this year they've really expanded the footprint of the event, and used areas that are usually out the way, to avoid disruptions during day operations and around major attractions. GOOD JOB MOVIE WORLD!
  8. I think $15 for unlimited use is pretty good value. I can't remember Universal's pricing but I think it was about a $10-15 price difference for the interactive wands. I think prices started at around $50USD for the interactive wands. Granted, you got a pretty cool piece of merchandise for that cost, though. But the actual interactive stuff wasn't as cool as the stuff at MW, IMO. Either way, great job MW. Definitely an awesome addition and hopefully will even out the crowds throughout the park.
  9. With the TNT - is it a static prop or does it "explode"?
  10. Visited the VL area today for the first time and LOVED it. Can't wait for all the interactive areas to be finished off. I did however notice a few major puddles forming (enough to get your socks wet) including at the entrance to the ride itself. I'm not sure how easy/hard these are to fix, but I hope they figure something out.
  11. I think @joz summed up my thoughts entirely. I really like the new area, especially how well it seems to improve the "flow" as you walk through the area. The facades and interiors look great, and it is definitely a bigger project than I first assumed. But I must say, the facades do seem awfully "blocky", and not a huge amount of attention to detail on the exterior facades. Also, while the interiors of the burger bar and coffee shop look GREAT, it still seems a bit "dated" and I'm not sure why (I honestly can't put my finger on it). Either way, it's a HUGE improvement and I don't think any further works over what it has now would really be seen as beneficial in the eyes of the GP.
  12. I mentioned some time ago how I'd love to go through a maze with no lights... so if they took my idea... !
  13. Anyone want to take a stab at noting all the locations of the markers?

  15. Thanks Brad for posting this. You worried me at first, saying that Village Roadshow net profit is down 64 percent... then I realised that it's for the entire group, not just the theme park division. GC theme park results seemed quite strong, making up for the short falls of the other parks. Also, this document is for FY16-17, which ends June 30 next year. The new coaster was rumoured to be opening late next year. Also, it's interesting that the GC theme parks "paid" for the new sound stage. Obviously some funny accounting going on there!
  16. Still, a few thousand bucks and you've got yourself a pretty awesome advertisement to sell annual passes etc. Probably should have put it on a bit earlier, but better late than never....
  17. So it seems due to some issues with offering an "all you can ride" pass at the GC show this year, the main(?) rides company has bailed and is hosting their own show the exact same weekend as the GC show. Seems like a dick move to me.
  18. Think people believe what they want to believe! Also, many people forget about April Fools
  19. Wow, that's news to me! PC looks really amazing. RCTW seems to be in a bit of an awkward position. They're releasing a game as shit as theirs (if the reviews are anything to go by) at the same time that people are LOVING PC... and PC isn't even in its final form yet! It seems that alpha 3 will be a pretty much "finished" game... from the actual inclusions POV. A lot of things will be adjusted and added, but the park management is looking good and that's really the only (big) thing missing at this point.
  20. I would assume on rides were there's a 'relaxed' loose items policy, recording using your phone/video cameras is OK. I could be very wrong, though...
  21. Well ACE is the place that would be LEAST likely to rate it #1. Unless there's a traveling coaster section? But even then... "Rated best ride at show" - think I heard that too, lol.
  22. So I went to the EKKA last night and the prerecorded audio out front he spinning wild mouse coaster kept saying: "rated best roller coaster by Roller Coaster Magazine" - or something along those lines. Was tempted to ask the ride operators what the hell they're talking about, but knew they wouldn't know/care. lol
