  1. I suggest doing the same. I'm building a park in Sketch Up at the moment and it's x10 easier than RCT3.
  2. I hope they do some work on the ride for their 20th birthday. They could advertise that it's 20 years old and has been 'reworked' in celebration. They could update the ride's main logo with a special '20th anniversary' design. And I hope more of the park receives a high-presure clean. Some areas around Main Street (HSD entrance for one) need a good clean!
  3. What happened to the water mist on Superman Escape and the Batwing? Is this a 'cut-back' or just something that requires some new parts/maintenance?
  4. As I said I was on a tight schedule. I had to basically do both parks in just over one day. I did everything that I wanted to do once, and Harry Potter twice.
  5. I didn't make it to Disney World, but did go to IoA/USF. I stayed on-site for one night to take advantage of the front of line passes. I'm not sure how much they cost to purchase in the park, but would be well worth the money if you're on a tight schedule. The only rides that you can't use the front of line passes for is the Forbidden Journey and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (which isn't open at the moment). I do recommend hitting USF. It's much better than USH and spent about half the day there (with front of the line passes). IoA is great -- although didn't ride Dragon Challenge and some of the smaller rides. The Hulk has a great layout (one of my favourite B&Ms)... although I found the front to be quite rough. Don't get me wrong, the back isn't smooth, but I thought the back was more tolerable. Harry Potter is nice, but with all of the media fuss, I thought it'd be a tad more "Disney-like". However, my opinion might be skewed a tad because I had just finished two back-to-back TPR trips (plus visiting all of the LA parks), so I was starting to get sick of it all. I didn't hit SeaWorld, but wanted to. Manta is said to be a very good roller coaster, so I recommend going.
  6. djrappa: Just to correct you, Hot Tomato was broadcasting live from Main Street. Not a huge deal, but it did take away from the atmosphere. It would have been better if they didn't play mainstream music at a Halloween-themed event... I agree the night was good, but I just wish a few things were improved. Still, it's their first night and it was raining, so I won't take things to heart.
  7. It didn't seem that busy... just slow-moving queues. The queue for the 3D maze was shut off at 10:15pm... The two other mazes were great, but VERY long lines. The atmosphere wasn't as good as it could have been. Hot Tomato had their radio station playing quite loud out the front of the Photo Centre. Also, there didn't seem to be as much fog this year. However, there were more actors running around, which is great to see! Overall, it was an alright evening. If I could choose to make some changes, I would do the following: - Turn some lights off on Main Street - Increase the amount of fog coming out of the stormwater drains - Make sure that the only music playing is Halloween-themed - Keep indoor attractions open until their posted closing time - Keep the park open until midnight on busy nights 7/10 -- and considering I won a free ticket, that's a pretty low score.
  8. ^ Great news! The front looks great and I just hope that there will be some more actors on Main Street this year. On another note, did anybody win tickets to opening night? I guess I'll be going twice this year... No complaints from me!
  9. What was the blood from? Did it cut your skin?
  10. I just measure things with the program's ruler and selected metric units. It was more a 'fun' project and didn't pay much attention to the scale. I should start again and do everything right. If you want, I could upload my project. It consists of a main area, 'Studio', New York section, stunt show courtyard/entrance and currently building a Tower of Terror-type ride. It's Warner Bros. and includes a Tower of Terror... so as you can see, it's totally for fun.
  11. I really don't understand why people go to extreme lengths to 'copy' a park in RCT3. It takes a lot of time and effort for an end result that is never any good. RCT3 simply doesn't offer the amount of freedom that you'd need to do a park like Movie World. If you really want to design a park, choose a 3D modeling program like Sketchup. That's what I did.
  12. Props -- like show props. Theming, I guess you could say.
  13. Well, I'm not sure about the submarine themed shop, but I know that the Sweet Treats needed to have that work done otherwise it would have been completely out of theme. I just find it sad that the Main Street facades are no longer treated like they once were.
  14. Thanks, Alex. I miss the days where shops would be totally revamped inside and out. I doubt that's going to happen this time.
  15. ^ Agreed. And I'm not a huge fan of Impulse coasters.
  16. I wonder what's happening with the old Shrek and DC Comics shops?
  17. This is looking very nice! The attention to detail is great, but I just wish there were a few targets in the middle of the pool. I also thought the little themed shelters were great, but then they go and put that plain white shade sail over some of the guns. Grr...
  18. I really didn't like I305. I would prefer a B&M Hyper with no trims. Intimidator at Carowinds was very good. I think something like this would be a good addition: http://www.rcdb.com/531.htm http://www.rcdb.com/3631.htm
  19. Matt, what's happening with the old Shrek and DC Comics store? Will the two stores merge? I would hate for the DC Comics store to remain empty.
  20. Are they going to re-paint the front of the building? Last time I was there it was looking pretty tired.
  21. I have a bad knee at the moment, so maybe that's why I'm bitching The park was amazing. In fact, both parks were. Spiderman and Hulk were my favourites. Also enjoyed Disneyland. On the trip I did a lot of parks and coasters; I think upwards of 120-30 coasters. I found Dollywood and Silver Dollar City to be very nice, as well as Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun. Wasn't a big fan of the Six Flags parks. Yeah, they're good for credits, but not much else. I thought SFMM to have some decent coasters, but also a lot of ones that weren't that great. Lastly, I thought USH was a bit of a let-down. It had some good attractions, but I wasn't a fan of the layout.
  22. Do keep in mind that you get free front of the line passes with the on-site resorts. So it may work out cheaper. Also the on-site resorts are connected via river boats, whereas the off-site hotels are not, and the only way to get to the parks easily is to use the shuttle bus, which is a pain in the a**. Walking is an option, but even the Hilton (at the entrance to the complex) is quite far.
  23. IOA wasn't too bad. But it was my first time there (nothing to compare it to) and had front of the line passes. Harry Potter wasn't too bad, I think it was around 30-40min for a single rider, but was well over an hour for groups.
