  1. Game time is 6mins. and the overall experience is approx 10mins depending on how well behaved the people are. there are a total of six areas. as you first walk in, you a kept in a waiting area, then the three breifing rooms. followed by the ice tunnel which heads down to the pod before you enter the arena and the arena itself. a quick walkthrough for high capactity: 1. You and 21 others (22 people in total) enter and are kept in a holding area 2. You are ushered into one of the three briefing rooms (keeping in mind that the first holding area is now clear for the next group) 3. You are suited up and then led down the "ice tunnel" to the pod (with the next group moving to the next briefing room and a third group now waiting in the holding area) 4. You enter the arena for 6 mins of gameplay. (the second group now moving to the pod, the third to the third briefing room, and a fourth to the holding area) 5. Your group finishes their time, and exit out of a different tunnel that leads back to your briefing room where you then get changed. (its a lot quicker to take the vests off etc so in about 2 mins your exiting the building out of a back door. Obviusly at this point the second group is in the arena, the 3rd in the pod and as soon as you clear out, the fourth is coming into your breifing room that you just vacated and a fifth group entering the holding area. Now this is running at maximum capacity with a total time of about 10mins but with about a 3 or 4 minute overlap. so your looking at 22 people per 6 mins so approx 220 pph. my timing might be a bit off etc but thats pretty much the idea behind it
  2. nah, there;s enough topics about that already. I think most of the people are still finding changes that are happening at WVTP's and if they want to say that theres something wrong then i still reckon its within reason.
  3. I've been inside and i must say, its very, very well done. The themeing and technology used is really spot on and worth seeing. The laser guns and packs are different to anything i've ever seen and this will definately be a welcome addition to the park. Also, rumour has it, the cost was $2million.
  4. most of the construction visible to the public is just some white buildings with only selected people being allowed to go inside before the opening day. Unless, there's someone higher up on these forums, i don't know if there would be a chance of seeing it.
  5. The cars have also been modified heavily. Roll cages, hydraulic handbrakes for instant locking up of the back wheels, and a major one, was removing the drive to the front wheels in order to make the cars able to drift. As well as aesthetic changes of course, like the lights etc. Also, last time i was there the actual asphalt that had been laid looks like a shinier, smoother version than that on the road. Couple that with that semi slick tyres used and you've got almost the perfect arena for medium speed drifiting that can also be driven normally with proper tyres.
  6. I know that the lights motor action show in orlando, which HWSD is loosely based on has the motorbike rider rolling around and the backwards driving car, but i dont think that the MW version has. reanimated35, look up lights motor action on youtube and you'll see how there are similarities.
  7. What part of the show is that? I don't remember a backwards drifting part. i know theres parts of the show where there is reverse flick turns etc but everything ive seen in the show can be done in a standard, forwards facing car. I used to do the same thing at demo days for a company i used to work for and there was no backwards cars or anything...
  8. Yeah, i knida have to considering that i have never come across it. If it was ages ago, then fair enough, i can't really deny or confirm it but anything more recent, i could. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, i just wanted to confirm that over the past few years i've never seen it :-)
  9. true. we'll have to see the figures once it opens back up again and aee how many people will go on that if there's a big queue line for jet rescue.
  10. i thought that the red car that shoots out after doning all of the stunts would then make its way around to the building for the finale because the guy jumps out of it at the end of the show. So, i think that Red car A (which has been doing all of the stunts in the arena etc) goes out the exit and then makes its way around the back of the set to behind the finale bnuilding while Red car B (which is on the roof) has another driver who drives out into the building where Red car C (Dummy) performs the jump. After which, Red car A (who has been sitting behind the finale building/curtain) drives out, the character jumps out of the car and the show ends. At least, thats how i would do it. otherwise you have a driver change before the car comes out on the roof and the character ahs to enter another car behind the set. Thats what i think but i could be wrong...
  11. I think though, that gone are the times of a classic white coaster. Now the parks have to paint rides bright, fun colours in order to catch the eye and make them fit in with the park. For example, you have Jet Rescue thats gone in beside the corkscrew, unfortunately, the youth of today always want the new and shiny one so corkscrew would soon be neglected. So i think the bright colours should actually attract more riders.
  12. I don't know where you get your facts from joz, but in the past six years i have never seen or heard a character chaperone tell anyone that they can't use their own cameras. Dreamworld offers the character photographer for those groups that don't have a camera or would prefer a professional quality photo. Most parents will take their own but will also look at and possibly purchase i professional photo taken by Dreamworld staff. As does Movieworld and the other parks i believe? Correct me if i'm wrong.
  13. i have heard it has 3 chamber type rooms and there may actually be a story but im not sure about the last one. looking forward to this. looks like fun. ill be enjoying it
  14. Considering the construction crew from sudden impact have been working non stop from about 7 in the morning till late in the afternoon/night i say there is a fair chance that it will be done on time. And people who have been inside have said that its looking good in there.
  15. I have a rumour to add. I have it on good merit that the area is double story in some areas...should make for a good arena
  16. I have to admit, that when i came back onto this forum after a long absence, i found alot, and i mean alot of negative topics about Dreamworld and every praise for the WVTP's. One example I would like to point out is the motorcoaster "issue". That ride is Intamin's first attempt at a launch coaster. Of course it is going to run into problems and yes, Jet Rescue is probably better but look at the years of development between the 2. It's like comparing the Cyclone to Superman (albeit slightly different). The fact is, when an updated model comes out it's going to be better. I admit that Motocoaster is a bit uncomfortable but hey, it was the first of it's kind in Australia. Was it not? I just think that Whitsy is like me and has seen that most of the site is negative towards Dreamworld and this has just made him snap because there isn't the usual 3 pages of "I can't believe [seaworld] is doing this" and "Where is [seaworld] heading with this upcharcge attraction?" that follow the news of guests spending more money to go into a Water Park that can only really be described as a play area, not really a park. So, I think, rather than being like school children and calling each other up on their username (mickey_079), we should be talking about new developments and how things in the park can be improved but not in the childish, nasty ways that it has been done in. That's just how i stand, and if i cop flak for it, so be it, but i know thats how i stand and i'll always be one to make sure there's a level playing ground. So if there's negative stuff coming out about Dreamworld you'll see me defending them, just like alot of people do the same for WVTP. - Out
  17. You can't really classify the Sea World Eye as a recent ride, as it was also RECENTLY removed so it was pretty much in the same boat as the Mummy etc. I agree with Whitsy, where is the usual bitch and moan about being charged extra to use something in the park and the usual thread that follows about how the park is going down the toilet etc. Now I think i'd be right in saying that most people here thoroughly dislike Dreamworld and are in love with the WVTP's. So i say that it is rather biased of you all to be saying that this is no big deal for the park. And yes, Seaworld is an animal park so rides aren't really a big deal but you would think that being a park thats based on water animals, that a water park might be included in the price. So i think it's stupid for Seaworld to be charging for the water park seeing as it only has about 4 or 5 slides. And before you start telling me that "if i don't like it, then don't pay", maybe you should be saying the same to yourselves about the upcharge attractions at Dreamworld. If you don't like them, then don't use them. Just because they're there doesnt mean you need to use them. - Out
  18. I wasn't going to say anything but i have to say when i went to WnW about a week ago, i found it quite annoying that on mammoth falls, kamikaze and the tube side at mach 5, there was only one slide running. Only the one middle slide of the 3 speed slides were working. Surfrider opened at 1pm and closed its line at about 4. I love slides and going on them, but a wait of 45mins to get on kamikaze is slightly ridiculous when they onle have one side going. I spent most of my day going around calypso bay only because it was the one area where there wasn't a big line waiting to get on. I think if WVTP is going to sell these Q150 passes, then they have to be able to have to be willing to run the parks with the number of staff that would usually be required with the sheer volume of people coming in. Just because someone can return multiple times on their Q150 pass, doesn't mean that they aren't going to be annoyed that after an hour, they've only been on one ride. Shame on WVTP for thinking that because Q150 pass holders are locals, that they don' have to give them the full experience of the park. On a side note: I don't have a Q150 pass, so I'm not a regular visitor to the parks. I paid my admission and was bitterly disappointed. I don't know how anybody can defend WVTP for their distinct lack of effort.
  19. Don't tell me klassen, your walking across behind sylvester and daffy in main street near the start of the story?
  20. i watched this the other night and its been repeating often. really great story, and great details on everything from the working of it and the control panel and everything. worth the watch if you can see it
  21. i don't mean to nit pick klassen, but i have some real trouble reading your comments. i'm finding that i need to read them 3, 4 even 5 times sometimes to understand. Maybe re-read you comments before you post them? As for this thread, your right, you were just letting everyone know the official results of the survey.
  22. i can tell you that the giant drop is 100% definitely not on the Q4U system. The eight rides on the system are Tower of Terror, Motocoaster, Cyclone, Claw, Wipeout, Thunder River Rapids, Log Ride and Runaway Reptar. I thought that this had come up in another topic but this can end all of the speculation for everyone. And I agree with you T-bone, if used correctly, the Q4U system can make you day all the more enjoyable. cheers
  23. i think you need to go and get yourself a Q4U so you can see how it works and then be able to tell us what you think of it after you've used it. Rather than saying its crap before you've used one. Thats what i think you should do, but its completely up to you.
  24. This is exactly my stance on things. Like people who built their houses next to the old Darlington Prak Raceway. That was an F1 grade race track that has now been shut down and being used for industrial area. I don't think it will be long before people start complaining about Willowbank etc. Is there one of these happening for Movieworld? I reckon if people find a cheap house (or in the case of sydney, a rather expensive one) that can't really expect to not hear the park. Besides, if they went to their house inspection on any day other than Christmas, the would pf heard the park nearby (or even seen it if it wasn't operating). I think the judge has made the right decision for this case. Pity it's taken so long to go through though.
  25. i just want to add that my sources have told me that it is quite possible that the laser skirmish attraction will be going to the rides department, not the games deparment and hence will not incur a fee to use. Even though it is only in the early construction stages, the area is coming along rather quickly with a lot of ground work already done.
