  1. Sorry for the delay in replying I just got back from Europe. As for the photos i'll have to look for them and i'll repost them at some stage
  2. Just to point out Nighty you're not even at college yet so you're not busy yet. You've got a lot more free time than most people on these forums but for some reason we still manage to stay in touch with whats going on. Just grow up (Sorry to everyone to go off topic but this really bugs me to death when people complain that they're busy when they obviously aren't. This especiall goes for little punks!! Try my life for just 1 week and then come back and say if you're lifes busy, I work 4 jobs and attend uni full time)
  3. Well I'll add my 2 cents worth of info in here. As a tourism student I just spent 6 months studying the Gold Coast and as Joz and Richard have said the Gold Coast was a nothing little dot of a town. The land isnt all that good but the beaches and weather are what drew people to Queensland. At the beginning of last century the QLD goverment decided that the tourism industry was the way to go (remember this is the BIGGEST industry in the world) and began developing and aiding entreprenuers (That ain't spelt right) with funding thus the Gold Coast was born. It's been a tourist destination way before the parks were there.
  4. I finally saw the TV ad for the Claw this morning at like midnight but then again I am in Canberra
  5. My count is 14 but i'll add around another 6 in September and hopefully Muke and I will go to the US in 2006ish maybe.....
  6. I liked Euro Disney their 3 coasters were pretty cool (especially Space Mountain) I think it's well worth the trip. When I got to France this year I'm going to Parc Asterix instead.
  7. I think the best thing to remember about the Bounty was the Bounty Girl from the TT day out DJRappa knows what I mean
  8. Ive been on the demon when the cable has snapped half way up the hill and we finished resting on the boomerang! That was pretty funny now that I remember it.
  9. The main pic in that article was actually taken towards the end of construction. I remember seeing it on screamscape whilst watching it being built.
  10. Yeah you have to enrol in Tourism management, then like medicine in your last year you can specify your degree towards Theme Park management. For example my course is a bachelor of business in Hotel management. You just have to do extra specific courses to gain a specific field of training
  11. I'm studying tourism at UC. My advice would be to look into doing a bachelor in Tourism management (Theme Parks) it's about a 3 year degree.
  12. "That would look really good on my coffee table" You could always buy the model then add to it don't forget.
  13. Just looking at the bottom site you listed it's really cool the pics that they have of the floor plans and then a pic of the coaster. It will definately make designing them in rct a lot easier
  14. just a question do you mean Wonderland? Whats Woderland?
  15. I was really lloking forward to doing an internship with Cedar point in 2007 but they ONLY take uni students. That is you must be currently studying and I wanna do it the year after I finish. So i'm off to Alton Towers instead then i'm going to do an American coaster tour from east to west (since i'd be coming from London). I plan to do Cedar Point (like duh), SFGAmerica, Busch Gardens, Dorney, PKI, PGA, IOA, Universal Studios, Disneyland, SFMM, Knotts, Vegas and whatever else takes my fancy by then.
  16. That weird tracksuit dude sat next to me on Space prob for the first ride we had on it (That was with you dj wasn't it?) He was weird he just started this random conversation. Scream I was the dude in the black wet tshirt.
  17. I think if you're going to place a coaster up near the log ride that a nice woodie would go well. Now that Wonderland is closing we won't have many left(Luna parks senic rail and thats about it.)
  18. Cause i'm driving from Canberra i'll be ever so p##sed if its not open
  19. Apparently so. I can't remember for sure which one it is but I think it's on the Hastings river drive entrancy to Port not the Oxley Highway. (Not the main entrance at the roundabout) I do know that Canberra was going to get a Disneyland a few years back when Cate Carnell was in government. She really wanted a theme park for Canberra but once again the public servants complained and another fun activity was canned for Canberra(Along with the GMC 400, Drag strip etc.)
  20. I have an inside source on the Port Macquarie council and from what I hear they are interested in setting up a theme park. (They already have the land for it) IMO if they were smart they may be able to grab a great bargain and buy up some of the old Wonderland stuff. But thats just a lttle piece of info that I have
  21. Muke and I will be driving up from Canberra on Sunday morning. I dunno what time we will get there but we are leaving at 6am (ARRHH waking up at 5am!!!). We should get there by 10 if not could it be possible to contact one of you in the park via mobile? Also just a quick note those of you going out the night before don't forget the mardi gras is on saturday night lol jk
  22. Muke and me arte just coming up for the day so we wont be able to socialise on sat nite. Besides on sat nite Skyfire is on here in Canberra. Just one big party!!!!
  23. I'm in i'll see if I can con muke into coming
  24. Very sad. I was born the same day that Wonderland opened. (Not the official date though) I wonder what will happen next.
