  1. I wouldn't use Daily Mail as a source and say it's better than Murdoch. I find it worse. They write articles just about what "celebrities" were wearing down the road and if they're walking with a work colleague or friend all of a sudden that person becomes a "mystery friend/lover".
  2. MW: - Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (dark water ride) - Mad Max (RMC coaster), next to WWF so sort of the west flows into deserted wasteland. - Expanded LT area, with Omni mover, new kids, show area for LT show and rapids ride. (Of course pie in the sky thinking because you'd need to move a lot around to make that kind of room and we won't be seeing any rapids on the coast for some time now.) - I like Joz's idea for Animal Logic, but the nostalgia in me would love to see Hannah Barbera too. Scoring Doo is reportedly getting rebooted and WB are said to be looking at other HB franchises to reboot. - If the Vacation films hadn't bombed and they were making another I would have liked to have seen that become the new stunt show. DW: Keep the Gold Rush area, but make it more like how Dollywood is presented. - A dark ride - RMC - B&M Wing Coaster - And a Large family flume Plus, retrack some of MD, retheme and look at something like upping the power in the launch or creating a second launch like JR at SW. And create an interactive playground on the island.
  3. I was so young, but vaguely remember the Serpent Show and had thought wasn't there a helicopter in it! Back then we also had PASS & I also vaguely remember a Joker show as part of the Studio Tour. I just wish the budget and creativity was there again. Well budget, because I'm sure there's some creative people there that could do amazing things given the freedom. With DW offering a night time event for the busy period with longer hours for free I think MW & SW should be upping their game. I mean the parks haven't changed their operating hours in years, but are busier than they ever have been. It's not a good look the tourists trying to fit in as much as they can in their day.
  4. I know people were hoping MW's new coaster would be the best of 2017, depending on what else is out there I think we've found the winner for 2018...
  5. ^ Lot's of big movies out there, but I'm just saying the trend seems to be with comics at the moment both at the box office and in our theme parks.
  6. The only thing really is even the movie studios are focusing on comics, it's clearly where the market is at the moment. Look at how many Marvel movies Disney is churning out, plus their TV network ABC has Agents Of S.H.I.E.LD, then all the shows the have on Netflix. While Warner Bros. is trying to get their DC comics to replicate what Marvel has been doing, not to mention TV Network The CW has 4 DC TV shows and Fox has one. And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head, its clearly the flavour of the month!
  7. Yeah not really what I meant. I meant more in terms of the fact that Mack are starting to get a few customers for their Hyper's.
  8. Apparently Land Of Legends in Turkey is getting a Flash clone.
  9. This is exactly the right comment and what should have been first posted. You don't like it, fine. But just because you don't doesn't mean it should go, that's why so many people will have downvoted it. Yes the ride holds nostalgic memories for many but it is currently doing so for a brand new generation because it does exactly what it's designed to for the park, provide that first thrill for children, be a ride the whole family goes on together and a ride for people who don't like high thrills. With BT gone it's the only ride left in the park that fits that bill because many people find SC too thrilling. Also replacing it with something more exciting. Like what exactly because I wouldn't expect the thrill level to be any higher than the fluke provides for the reasons already outlined. Plus as has been pointed out it's one of the busiest rides in the park, that's for a reason, same as to why SDSC is one of the busiest at MW. You don't like it, fine, but accept it fills an important gap the park desperately needs.
  10. Very true, I actually thought exactly that, you imagine if they went with them again they'd be getting a good deal Plus their Spaceshot seems to have never given them problems before.
  11. ^ They don't, their rides have a good reputation. However VRTP had a MAJOR problem with one of them and had the potential to kill everyone on board that day if it had of gone over the edge with MW facing the same problem DW is right now. With the cause found to be the manufacture you'd think they'd be very pissed at them cautious to trust them again. Which is a shame because I would love to see some of their models making their way to Australia. One being an S&S Screamin' Swing, maybe the trick is to buy their tried and tested models, not prototypes.
  12. Thanks for the info guys. I actually find talking about how many trains you could fit on and load/unload procedures really interesting.
  13. I know its not on topic but I'm just interested, I'm guessing SE can't support 3 trains on the track due to it's block system. But could the ride have three trains, say if it's not busy one in operation and 2 on the transfer tracks, or is the holding bay not big enough and it always need to have 2 in operation with one in the holding bay? It would be good because you could keep 2 trains in operation while one train get's rebuilt and I've long championed a second train for AA! Hyper from what I've seen generally have more cars. So with this coaster I'm hoping for at least 6 cars with 3 trains, maybe even 4, because as Richard pointed out off peak is nearly gone now. That way the ride can always have 3 in operation with the 4th going through its rebuild.
  14. They built Green Lantern for MW and we all know what happened back in March of 2015 on that ride. Something else I'd like to add is another family ride. Storm is a great replacement for Bermuda, but is more of a family thrill and therefore has turned away some of BT patronage. Half my family included. I think a true family ride is needed to balance that out. Also if you want to see a great new layout/expansion idea for SW take a look at what Joz did a couple of months back, it would be perfect for the park!
  15. You're probably looking more at 30mil for a flyer would be my guess and even then it would probably a short one. SW is an animal park and I'm happy to see more animal enclosures, but with so many rides being closed and not replaced the park desperately needs the balance restored. For what its worth if you gave me an unlimited spend on the park I'd build: 1. Ferris Wheel (views & gentle) 2. Drop Tower (again great views and would like to see one of those face down drop rides added for the extra thrill and sets it apart from DW) 3. Screamin' Swing (After the problems with S&S they might be more reluctant, but would replicate the feeling on the Pirate ship and a bit more of a family thrill) 4. Enclose the parts of the Flume Ride (Breathing life back into it and giving the park another dark ride) 5. Soarin' Attraction (Could work great with a sea theme and would like to see it go in the castle. However I don't think the space would be big enough) 6. Get Mack in to do a sort of launched looping coaster (good replacement for Corkscrew) 7. Mack spinning coaster (these just look like a hell of a lot of fun and great for families to enjoy) 8. 3 new modern monorail trains with air-con I would love to see something like a B&M flyer or wing rider, I just don't think it's feasible. But I did think the same about us ever getting a Hyper Coaster. Something someone else brought up here I hadn't thought of before is a wooden coaster with that seaside pier theme, I think that could look really cool!
  16. They'd be referring to S&S Rides which took over Arrow and these days currently supplies parts to old Arrow rides, which is based in Utah, which would be why some articles referred them having to go to the manufacturer in Utah.
  17. I think that's true and very much a shame because it's a ride type I would have loved to have seen at MW as a much better version since technology has advanced so much in the last 30 years and with how hot MW get's in Summer the parks could really do with a second water ride.
  18. Yep the name change of the company has been discussed here for several weeks, so was not a reaction to the incident.
  19. InterContinental Sanctuary Cove? Or do you consider that too far away?
  20. What do they do with loose articles, is it lockers, or do they have boxes on the ride? And what about loading procedures, are they quick or the usual slow MW loading procedures?
  21. I don't need ones with any gimmicks. Bring back the original. With the others you can't see where everyone is until the end. This version as Joz said was just pure fun and the racing part with your mates was the best part, so many great memories of it.
  22. Something I've always thought would look cool on Arkham is theming of like wires and electrical components that spark. I remember the old Colorado store at Pacific Fair I think it was had a similiar set up and at certain times throughout the store these electrical sparks would run through the wires in the store, if anyone can remember that?
