  1. Clearly it is going to be a Zoolander themed attraction to fit in with the release of the new movie. Will be really ridiculously good looking and involve a runway, red carpet and based around stopping an evil plan by Mugatu
  2. Agree with OceanGirl for both things. Do prefer Wet'n'Wild Sydney over the Gold Coast parks for range of slides.
  3. You have to remember Sea World didn't use some of theirs for lighting the park at night.
  4. This is one thing where I am happy if they cut some corners and take the cheaper way out if it means we see something of high quality added to the park afterwards. There are some small things that could have been done differently (maybe close in the queue room and air condition it), use the TVs and speakers that were in the queue line instead of adding two screens to the top of the queue. They already had AV equipment installed so that confuses me. It is one queue where their playing popular music would fit in the best.
  5. They use the "upto" to get away with speeds slower than what is advertised as the maximum. Reason for not going full speed is they simply didn't spend the money when turning it to ToT II to update the systems (SFMM did and is why theirs runs higher). The ride also develops a really bad shudder when returning to the station after multiple full speed launches.
  6. No reason the coaster can't be a RMC, they do both wood and steel coasters.
  7. Prayer room is closed off? Guess that's one less thing for the ignorant bogans to complain about now.
  8. A few months old slide versus a few years old park, the fact that Wet'n'Wild Sydney even with all the negativity getting queues for a hour for a slide shows the popularity of the park. Maybe even time for them to look at expanding the park to help with crowds. They have a wide selection of tube slides already but there is always something that can be added, maybe some body slides as a start. Something like the Mach 5 tower at the Gold Coast park. Will say the lazy river was a massive missed opportunity to add a "transport" option around the park. Would make for a crowd soaker too. Guess it would mean they can't cut it in half and operate a stupidly small circuit when they don't have/want to run the full course.
  9. Based on the maintenance setup when they had two locomotives they would now need to purchase a second for when one goes down for major maintenance work. Would be nice to see it out on weekends at a minimum. Guess small steps at first and good to see the park is showing interest in bringing it back.
  10. It is clearly where they will be taking unattended children and selling them off to the circus
  11. Until recently at a few stores never seen the pager style locators used when doing CYT. Seems kind of pointless with clipboard and receipt setup that was used when first started at stores. The wait seems normal too, expect a 15 minute wait when doing it for eat in. The baskets for fries can be hit and miss but later at night can't blame them for using the take away packaging.
  12. Lazy river operation seems to be due to staff. Noticed they were slow to open it today and when they did they only used half of it 360 Rush (Aqualoop) was only running one side (green/blue) too so guessing more saving on staff although it wasn't that busy so can justify it. Getting in was easy. Queue most of the way back to the drop off area but cleared in almost no time.
  13. Those look like your standard fries from a place like maccas. Proper chips are thick cut and if the place really gives a shit they do them from scrach.
  14. The queues today seemed like what I would expect for a water park, unsure of how long as I used Fast Pass. Most of them were at the most half way down the tower. Agree with Slick in saying it is seasonal and has 12 hours of trade. The lines will die down as it gets later into the night. 12 hours is more than enough to get everything done even with long queues for some slides.
  15. On paper it would be but I am sure they will find a way to screw it up
  16. Whilst talking about these upcharge systems in the parks, how many people here who are locals and have "annual" passes actually bother with them? I personally don't see the value and use a day at the parks to relax and go on the odd ride or two. If I was taking a friend to Movie World who isn't a local I would look at Fast Track but otherwise I would be saving my money for something else.
  17. Almost like there is meant to be another sign below it saying what it is.
  18. I prefer TailSpin to Panda and see it as a better investment of the two. The spin is something that can be difficult to do and not everyone picks up the first time. Best advice is don't fight what it is trying to do and get a feel for when to change direction.
  19. That's that I mean, with all of the options in the area and the Coomera addition they could get away with two Gold Class and maybe one Vmax in an entertainment precinct. As for distance, Chermside has Stafford, Toombul and to a degree Strathpine nearby so the distance wouldn't be too much of an issue.
  20. Will say the idea of one from Goldrush to the Wildlife area or other way around would be more interesting than what was done at Wet'n'Wild. An over head view of the animals would be better than the view of concrete? you get at Wet'n'Wild.
  21. No reason why they can't try what has been done overseas and only put in Gold Class cinemas as part of the entertainment precinct or maybe include Vmax. Both options are licensed and would suit an entertainment precinct. As said above they don't need to put in a multiplex like seen at Chermside.
  22. One reason why I have been avoiding Movie World of late. When you visit the park off peak on a Monday and encounter a 1.5hr queue for Superman you know the park isn't going to do well over the busy months. They really need a sense of urgency with loading rides and staffing appropriately. Maybe blackout dates and lowering the parks population cap are two steps to help. Longer trading hours would be nice but staffing and nearby residents could make things hard.
