  1. Well it is one step closer to becoming a reality. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/sunshine-coast-water-theme-park-gets-approval-20150129-1310gn.html
  2. Used to be, don't have the time to visit anymore.
  3. Choice of salad and meat/ham options, similar to what you would get at Subway, not sure about rolls. Pricing was around $15 for a combo. Will be honest and say it is great to see the park offering more than the usual burgers and fried goods. The pizzas looked decent too and the combo (16" + 4 drinks and 4 chips) for $40 is great value for a theme park.
  4. I will be there on Monday and will look at getting photos if no one else has posted any before then.
  5. Whilst the TV series of The Flash has been great so far (they have even been crossing over with involvement from Arrow in the last episode) I personally don't see a need for another coaster based on the TV show. Movie World really needs more flat rides than coasters.
  6. Am I the only one thinking the big cleared out area between the two roundabouts would be ideal for a coaster?
  7. I wouldn't be using the news as a source for not heading to the Gold Coast.
  8. Those saying not to spend on a new ride and to do work on an existing ride area somewhat sure this year they did Wipeout and Tailspin plus most of Ocean Parade so no reason why they can't do something like that again, open the refurbishment mid year for new ride later in the year like as been done this year. Will say the statement "new rides" is an interesting wording as it implies more than one new ride. Guess time will tell.
  9. All the AirWick ads to try and cover the stench of shit from those two. Will be honest and say I very rarely watch local TV, most of my viewing is through Hulu. Nothing really local that appeals although I have been catching glimpses of Cricket and will agree that it is more important than Big Bother. Don't they also have another two channels, why not just move it channels and not time? Doubt that there would be anything on Go! that couldn't be interrupted.
  10. Wait Big Brother has been on? Oh well can't say I missed it.
  11. Have a feeling looking at the space behind Tailspin it is a case of "This area intentionally left blank" and will eventually see something added there.
  12. Can't be terrorists, thought the reason for making bins unusable was to prevent terrorism. Maybe we need more of those fridge magnets that were handed out years ago. They seemed to have stopped terrorism happening here so far.
  13. Where do I sign up for free money and is there any catch Reanimated?
  14. Slow load/unload? Parks here aren't like US parks where there is a timer measuring how long it has taken to dispatch giving the operators an added sense of urgency so unless it is really busy they really have no need to rush.
  15. Thrillseeker, Thunderbolt, Sea Screw, Demon, Bush Beast, Beastie, Eureka Mine Ride, and the one that was at the top of the Myer Centre in Brisbane.
  16. Will agree with reanimated in saying the Terror Tour wasn't just "pretty good", it was excellent and the best thing to happen with the Fright Nights experience. Right number of people, excellent value for what is offered and a great VIP only experience that is enough to be it's own separate show on the night. If offered next year will be doing it without questions. Random locker photo too I see, guess that was after they closed the lounge Reanimated.
  17. The opposite only happened because the owners saw more value in the land than in running a theme park. The park itself wasn't that bad. I wouldn't have mattered who took over ownership of the park if they didn't care about it as much as they did their other properties the same thing would have eventually happened, either a sale or closing the park and selling the land. Having a major US operator taking ownership of a park half way around the world would not have guaranteed major investments in the park or a park the same level as what its US counterparts are. If Six Flags or Cedar Fair were to take ownership of it there would have been a very good chance it would have been sold off when they went into bankruptcy unless on the off chance the park actually was a really strong performer.
  18. I have done work for a media production at the parks as an extra. I gave up my time (and sleep) to go to two parks early to be an extra for filming for a somewhat well known coaster show on a network that travels. I personally didn't care about payment for my time as it was a few hours spent riding two rides that are fun. Sure there was food put on and we were able to stay in the park after they had finished filming what was required but I did it for the opportunity and experience presented. Would I do it again if the opportunity arose? Easy yes. I am not the only one here involved with the filming of the production and would say they would have a similar response. Some people may not find the idea of it attractive but I am willing to do some things for fun and the experience and not for the monetary gain. Once you start only doing things for money you will eventually lose the enjoyment you would normally get from what you are doing.
  19. Been the same every other year, first weekends are cheap, other weekends more expensive especially as you get towards Oct 31.
  20. Noticed last night that around 10pm the sound stage queues had died right down.
  21. Clowns weren't that bad for what would be best classed as a last minute maze. Other three I found great. Managed to do all the mazes twice, Superman twice and Green Lantern once. There seems to be a much higher number of actors in the maze and park in general than last year and it really helps both the park and mazes. As for queues can't really comment as I used fast track for all rides and mazes. Think the longest wait for fast track would have been The Evil Within at around 10 minutes everything else was either walk on or very short wait as far as mazes go.
  22. Think Mammoth and possibly Wildebeast at Holiday World start where you go up the conveyor.
