Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)
pin142 replied to ads086's topic in Theme Park Discussion
At least they are doing something. Look at Superman. The entrance and area around the ride really make you feel like you are in Metropolis and entering a subway station. -
Duct tape, lots and lots of duct tape.

Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)
pin142 replied to ads086's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Will say the last visit to the park and I rode it the ride had a long wait with all the new switchback area full. If they kill off the head banging and make it actually fun to ride it would be something I would do intentionally and not due to no lines. -
Dreamworld not finishing something on time? Would have never thought it! I will say the area is looking great what has been done. Do find it kind of odd the colours they have painted what used to be Reptar.

Just quickly direct your attention to http://www.parkz.com.au/about/FAQ/Community-Guidelines.html#5 On the topic of licensing I cannot see why the park would want to add another kids area which will compete with the existing offerings. To say that you are going to add one HB themed ride in the middle of nowhere is a silly idea. The reason we have Scooby? They were filming the movie in the studio next door so had everything they needed at their disposal to theme the coaster. Filming the ride next door also would have made leveraging the license to use the IP easier. Whilst building a ride or attraction around an IP sounds easy there is more than just "we will give you $$ if you lets us build something along the lines of this". License they already own? TimeWarner has the license for HB. The park doesn't own any licenses for major tie in attractions. They pay to use the IP. This is the same as the other parks. If the park wants to add another attraction based on something like Yogi they would need to apply to use it. Just because they have the rights to use Scooby doesn't give them a green light to add any other HB character.

My thoughts exactly. I have never got to do a double cycle so it may be better. Whilst it may seem a good addition the other car park coaster down the road is much better. Shockwave isn't that bad. Sure it is no Redback but unlike the other new ride in the park it has a decent ride time and is something fun for most of the family without being too big and scary looking. Did you do Sea World Hendo and if so what were your thoughts on the park?

Guessing there won't be much action in this thread until something major and obvious starts happening with the replacement.

Great update. Knew something was being done with the monorail last visit but couldn't quite make it out. -
Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)

Speaking of entrances and things at them. The Gotham City Cafe will actually be next to a Batman themed attraction and fit in a bit more better than a random Batman themed area away from the main Batman attractions. -
My guess is it isn't unique enough

Lethal Weapon and Sea Viper are more unique rides? Used to have two siblings down south until one was relocated to Indonesia.

Am I the only one thinking this should be called the best Coaster on the Gold Coast 2012?
-
The reason it gets long lines is a poorly setup restraint system and staffing levels. If the restrains where quicker to "lock"/check and they had a dedicated control panel operator things would be slightly quicker. Also running both trains may help things slightly. I am yet to visit when both have been on track and running efficiently.

I wouldn't call it confusing, I would say it is creative.

It isn't the megapixels you worry about but the size of the sensor A reason why a mobile will never replace a proper camera.

It was a link at one point and I guessing something has happened with the forum software where it now shows the video embedded instead of just the link.

Zoomerang (The Demon) up for sale again !
pin142 replied to JackBenjaminBrissenden's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It would give them a unique attraction but you have to consider what you can do with the amount of space that a Boomerang takes up and what alternatives there are. To put into into perspective you can build a GCI Big Fun into the same amount of space and I know I would rather what looks like a fun wooden coaster over a boomerang. Sure there is the awesome feeling of going through a loop backwards but I feel for re-ride ability there are many other much better alternatives.- 38 replies
