^I cant remember it ever being that loud. Thats ridiculous! As Bussy said it was always a 'whirling' sound. Maybe Sunway are cutting back even more and using Nankangs instead of Michelins
-
Thats the thing Bussy, these were totally random, unprovoked attacks. Once I was walking through Cronulla and a carload of guys pulled up next to my girlfriend and I. Next thing I know I'm on the ground getting kicked in the face while my Gf takes a club-lock blow to the back. They took all my belongings and sped off. This was around 9.30pm with quite a few people around. There were witnesses who got the licence plate number and had good descriptions of the men who were of 'middle eastern appearance'. The police did nothing. I rang them every few days to see if anything had progressed and they kept giving me the run around saying they will be looking into it shortly. A few weeks later not far from there a friend of mine got the same treatment though this time he was lucky to be alive. They broke his jaw in 8 places and left him for dead in a garden. Once again witnesses, good descriptions - no action from the police. Thats when I decided to get out of Sydney and move to the Gold Coast. In the 7 years of living here I have not once been attacked or even witnessed any trouble and I live right in the heart of Surfers Paradise which apparently if you listen to the born and bred locals, is comparable to South Central L.A.!!! I have seen a few punch ups here and there but they are usually just 2 guys fighting over a girl or something stupid like that. There doesn't seem to be many, if any of those random gang attacks that are common in Sydney. I can walk home at 3am and feel safe not having to look over my shoulder constantly. Back on topic - Any updates on this case?

I have been bashed numerous times in Sydney. 10 on 1 gutless bashings in places the police refuse to go into. I have also witnessed on many occasions police getting outnumbered and assaulted and running for their lives. One occassion I saw a gang surround a police car kicking the sides of the car and smashing the back window in with a crowbar. There was 3 officers in the back showered with glass and the look of sheer terror in their faces as they sped away will stay in my memory for the rest of my life... Trust me these punks will get away with it

Having grown up in Sydney particularly the southwest, I can assure you it wasnt bogans. I know exactly what type of people act like this and anyone else who grew up around the area will know who aswell. I wont say anymore as I dont want this thread closed. I remember an incident last year where a certain group ran wild through the carnival too. Unfortunately the police are powerless/useless.

I heard they're getting a Sizzler themed on Rugby League great Andrew 'Joey' Johns to keep with the trend of naming world class adrenalin pumping thrill rides after Australian sporting legends. It will be called 'The Joey Johns Sizzling Side Stepper'. Maquarie Leisure believe this state of the art ride will cement Dreamworld as the premier thrill ride park for many decades to come with an unprecedented 7 thrill rides in 1 park.

Yeah I went on Sunday. The problems I saw with Skywalker were at around 1- 2pm Also saw a young girl split her head open in Spaceship 2000 or whatever its called not long after. She had blood pouring out of her head and the op had no idea what to do. Everyone was just running around in a panic so they shut it down for a while just as I was about to ride....Just wasn't my day. I hope they gave the girl some free coupons to go with her stitches

^ LOL about the fire on Halloween family fun night. Thats so untrue. Everyone knows the fire was started by the sparks from the wheels of Lethal Weapon. Might have to go edit that
-
Hard Rock was operating fine when I was there. The ride ops were just struggling with Skywalker. The que was pretty long and they were sending it up empty. Then just puting 5 or 6 people on it. One cycle I watched the arm went up, it turned twice then came back down. No more than 20 seconds.
-
Went yesterday. I estimated a crowd of around 458 billion Skywalker had about 20 seconds of ride time so avoided that. Went on the zipper. Seemed to be more savage than last year, which was good. Also went on NO LIMIT. Great ride but I find it hard to understand why it costs 15 coupons to ride yet rides like The Ranger and the Zipper only cost 6?

Yeah you guys can laugh all you want My mail is the big wigs from both Cedar Fair and Six Flags heard about Dreamworlds 6th thrill ride and flew immediately out here to check the thing. They were so impressed with the sheer speed, height and overall thrilling experience they quickly contacted Intamin to order one of these masterpieces. Now it will be a race to see who can open theirs first. I guess it will take some heat of the unbearably long ques at such rides as Millenium Force and Top Thrill.
-
Yeah laugh it up Dont be surprised to see Motocoaster gracing the coaster skyline of Cedar Point in the not too distant future

15 times! Wow thats impressive. How's the ears? Most people on here would need a double ear transplant and six months in Intensive Care after an effort like that.
-
Vekoma SLC. Google it.

Im 6'2 so I have never experienced the infamous 'ear bashing'. I feel sorry for you all No mickey, haven't ridden Tatsu yet, although I am visiting SFMM in September. I'll give you my opinion on it then. I do like smooth rides too, I just think the roughness suits the savage layout of Lethal. I mean look at it - with the twisted grey track, its a dark and ominous looking ride. Smoothness just wouldn't suit it. Maybe my opinion would be different if I was a foot shorter...
-
I honestly don't think I would enjoy the ride as much if it was super smooth. The roughness adds to the thrills IMO. It's a tough, mean ride. If you can't man up and take it - go ride a Merry-Go-Round
-
^ Id say around 15 - 17.5 million AUD

I find it hard to believe people are losing things out of closed pockets! Last time I rode it the 'bouncers' weren't so strict. I had my camera, wallet, and phone in my open top pockets in my cargo pants. Nothing even came close to falling out. I mean c'mon! Its a relatively small, silky smooth coaster with zero inversions. What are these clowns doing??

I have Austar already but I like to watch free to air as well. I like a lot of other programs on channel 10 and I try to avoid BB but those ads are on before every show and on every ad break. I guess I'll take your advice and detune 10 off my STB for 3 months. Its just frustrating that it takes over the entire channel and you cannot enjoy any other programs on 10 without being bombarded with phone numbers and sms codes.

So true Gazza, you can't escape it. Did they sack Mike Goldman too? I hope it was a double deal with Gretal and Mike. Can't stand his irritating, nasaly, whiny voice constantly repeating sms codes and 48 digit phone numbers for every single contestant. Do you want Jack to stay? SMS YES to 0400 6778 8899 9900999 that number again 0400 6778 8899 9900999 or would you like Jack to go SMS GO to 04000 9999 74684 7845848 7447474 thats GO to 04000 9999 74684 7845848 7447474 or you can phone YES to 19900 737373 6537398 738383 that number again for YES 19900 737373 6537398 738383 or you can phone NO to 6379490 764734783 7637378 747 the number for NO is 6379490 764734783 7637378 747 repeat 4 million times for 3 months at every single ad break oh, and dont forget to throw in a cheesey pun for each contestant

Six Flags Magic Mountain Cedar Point Six Flags Great Adventure Hitting them all August/Septrmber this year
-
WOW... What value!
-
Seriously how accurate are the forecasts anyway? 2 days ago they forecast rain for today. Well it was hot as hell and not a drop in sight. They cant even predict the weather 2 days out I find it laughable theyre giving out 28 day forecasts!

Easily fixed. Riders must sign a waiver before riding that releases the park from any liability for injuries caused on the slide. Just like when you do a solo skydive. If you want to be an idiot and not pull your chute then thats your problem.
-
The beaches are still a mess. Heaps of sand has been washed away. Water is still a filthy brown colour and the surf is very 'rippy' and choppy. Doesn't look inviting at all. Looks like it will take another few weeks at least to recover. On a good note there has been patches of blue sky today and yes, even some sunshine! I couldn't believe my eyes.
-
Always wanted to do that on a Tornado but the seams are too painful...even in the cloverleaf it hurts. Speaking of being an idiot at waterparks. Anyone ever block a slide? I remember our school went to Mt Druitt Water Works and my mates and I blocked the slide just after the first corner. People would come flying around the corner then whack straight into the pile of bodies. Ended up having about 20 people wedged in tunnel in very uncomfortable positions. Good times. The staff never really had much control there...
