Here's the Seven News story on it (although they refer to it as Oz-venture World). Shows some more detail about some of the attractions. As someone that lives in the South East, it's great to see Gumbuya Park getting a very long overdue revamp!

Article in The Age today saying that Chinese developers have purchased a 43 hectare of "green-wedge" land in Melbourne (near Dandenong) and are considering putting a theme park on it. Went on the Southern Star Wheel today. Thought it was great although it would be better if it was closer to the city. Would like to do it again at night as the city would look much better! Here are a few pics I took with my mobile (forgot my camera!)

Thanks everyone. Just to be sure, I sent an email to Wet 'n' Wild last night and they confirmed today that an upgrade is available whilst in the park... $22.50 per adult and $14.50 per child. Can't remember the first year I joined, but I have been a member on and off for quite a few years now, probably since the mid-90's too (sometimes didn't get a membership due to financial reasons or when I worked interstate)... although I have been an ongoing member for 3 years now.

Yes I am... how'd ya guess!!! Yes, I know they sell a 2 day pass, but the point is that I am not sure if I need the 2nd day or not and would have a much better idea of knowing if I want a return visit after I have spent the a day there. I don't want to buy a 2 day pass then to find that 1 day was sufficient. This is where a return ticket option would be good for me.

Hi, I am travelling to the Gold Coast in March and will be visiting Wet 'n' Wild for sure! Definitely want to spend at least 1 day there, but I might be interesting in going again a few days later... however, I don't want to buy the 2 day ticket just in case I decide that 1 day was enough. Does anyone know if Wet 'n' Wild sell a cheap 2nd day return pass in the park? (ie. an upgrade to the 2 day pass) Thanks

I agree... a deal like this would be just about impossible to keep off the news radar. That said, I think it is only a rumour or a bad case of chinese whispers. I just thought I would mention the rumour as he actually stated that an agreement was signed this week. No skin off my nose if it's wrong (which I think it is)!

I have just joined this site to pass on a rumour that I heard yesterday. A family friend that has a son that lives and works in Geelong who has told her that he has heard that Disney have signed a agreement in the past few days to build a Disneyland at Avalon. I am not sure who he heard this from and like the rest of you, I am very sceptical about this... although I would love this to happen. I came to this site to see if anyone else had listed any similar news. Just thought I would share this just in case there is a 1 in a 100 chance that it is true. Personally, I think that Avalon would be a pretty good option for the park if it ever happened. Having Jetstars hub right next door would certainly be a big plus from Disney's point of view, and Melbourne's climate ain't as bad as people think it is.
