Sounds like an Insurance job to me! Wouldn't be surprised if it was deliberately lit.

It's all over the News this morning however spurred on by a GC Bulletin article that is opinion loaded as per always. There is actually no new News that has not all ready been reported here. A name change is an obvious Marketing strategy of a re-branding masterplan but like @joz said, a whole lot more is needed than just a new Name. Speaking of chageing the name, Can we please change the title? @AlexB will see this and have a melt down.

Thanks for the update @themagician! We can always count on you for bringing us the latest 😃 What a confused mess the entry area is becoming. Surely no Senior Executive could see this with their own eyes and think this looks good? Even from a revenue raising perspective it stinks. Visitors being corralled and guilted by the Park vicariously through the eyes of their Kids into buying Photos - even after leaving! Hmmm.. The whole execution is cheap and nasty. Inconvenient to Passholders and a pathetic cash grab to practially anyone else. Regardless, this is not the way a visit to a (once?) iconic Gold Coast Destination should be remembered? 😥

I love how the lighting on the ceiling is controlled to create different moods and effects. There are some really great rides and experiences - somethings which are desperately needed to balance out a certain Aussie Park that's currently too thrill heavy.

I miss this and wish SW could fight to bring it back.

Maybe the topic should be renamed: "Village Roadshow has gone to Shit".. ?

One of the single most uncomfortable, if not down right painful restraints I have ever experienced on a ride. The whole thing is almost as ugly to look at as it is to ride and wonder how it deserves to return.. Pretty sure it will though.

Welcome to Parkz @Candygirl! I really enjoyed your mature and well articulated summary and hope you continue to contribute - and that this isn't a once off😃

By "Giant Hole in the Wall" are we referring to the Maintenance roller doors just rolled up?

Awww. .. @Skeeta you know me better than I could ever have imagined😚 TBT it was merely an ever so slightly (albeit drunkened) post on my part, but if only to try and dissuade all this nasty TRRR chatter going on right now..

I once participated in a drill with the Fire brigade at MW and was evacuated from the LW lift back in 1996.

Thanks I'll be looking forward to it😁

Thanks @Gold Coast Amusement Force for sharing a 10 second video highlighting 2 parts of the ride without commentary.. So...what is exactly your point?

Oh what a shame nobody else wrote that article so anybody else might actually pay attention to it?

What? For a half a dozen nights a year and.. that's all?? Funny thing about having a 2000+ seat fully airconditioned venue and not actually using it!

Spot on @AlexB! Why buy Surf brands in a Theme Park when you can get the same shit at your local Shopping Centre for a fraction of the Price? Same goes with Food. Domino's Pizza is as common as Catfood Nationwide and hardly memorable Family dining. Completely uninspired and outrageously over-priced as it is currently experienced at SW. Point of difference is the key here. Offer Products and Services that can only be experienced while inside our Parks.. After all that is why People visit them in the first place! ..No wonder so many are leaving disappointed.

Assuming this is the new Western Show Stage Entry? Putting a ramp in by an area that is almost barely ever used seems like a lot of trouble for nothing.. UNLESS a new Show (or at least temporary Holiday attraction for now?) is on it's way to an otherwise perpetually dead area of the Park? Hmmm...

Thanks Push that is great value when you consider full dinner and drinks are also included. That PARK10 Code also applies to the Annual Pass program. I got one this way for my Sister when she moved up recently. The last time I saw AOS was at the Media Launch way back in 2006.. I guess it's time to go back again😂

That effect has been working and lighting looks improved. Despite this, many People don't seem to notice and find the wall directly in front of them more interesting. Go figure?

Market the new ride as I-ride or "Australia's only Flight Simulator", then yes

Pig's arse dude! Seriously, that is one of the funniest things I have heard all day

Tawww. ..It's so nice to hear that the People behind the scenes are being looked after..
