  1. Mostly because People are stupid when it comes to a risk of jumping out or sticking hands in the water and our Parks mitigating risk of injury etc. As the Boats almost come to a stop at this point, it's a part of the ride where the odd 1 in a million dickhead decides it's a good spot to jump out. Same goes for the bottom of lift 2. When a lot of boats are operating and spacing is out, you can get a bank up there. Many years ago, I had a guy with Autism pannick here, jumped out, wound up in the drink, clambered out to the island in the middle. Other than soaked from the waist down he was fine. That is after he finally turned up at the exit to the Gremlin ride!
  2. A 5th maze would be nice! With WWF now out till the end of March, at this rate it'll be down until next Summer! I hope they have found some extra $$ to spend on the WWF show? With such a long down time now, think of all the money saved on Staffing and Power? The Geyser area needs a good clean up and re-paint, ghost town needs attention and of course the finale which has the potential for so much more. Now I think of it, wonder if the backwards-to-forwards transition area has recently come under the spotlight as a potential area of concern?
  3. Ditto. Practically every time I drive by and see the ride going the Back seat is empty. Same when in Park. Backwards is occupied maybe 1-2 out of 5 runs tops. How about if MW offered a deal to Passholders for free backwards rides with any in-Park purchase? For example, buy a Soft Drink refill, retain the receipt and validate it for your free backwards ride? A great way to generate some extra Passhole spending, especially when most People visit with others, so the group would have to buy more than one thing for everyone to get their free ride. I always visit with my Partner and still haven't ridden backwards. It might not seem like a lot to many of you, by the time I drive to the Park I have already spent $30 on Fuel and will throw at least another $40 on food and drink for the day including afternoon Coffee and Cake at the Cafe in the Park. I can't justify another $20 at this stage sans spending that money on Groceries for dinner that night. Or 2 bottles of wine
  4. Thanks for clarifying @Brad2912, in that case will be happy to wait till end of the year before renewing😁
  5. Just to be clear, are the Summer Passes also extended?
  6. Wait, ALL PASSES? I had a Summer Pass which am pretty sure it expired on the 24/12?
  7. No offence @Santa07 but your top 10 sucks balls. How on earth can you call yourself a Theme Park Enthusiast and put DW's ToT significantly in front of 3 multi-gazillion dollar Disney masterpieces? Sorry Chap but what you are doing is comparing Apple's with Donuts. This is precisely why I hate top 10's. Happy New Year btw 5. ToT (DW)6. Colorado Adventure (Phanta)7. Hyperspace Mountain (DLP)8. Rock n Roller Coaster (Walt Disney Studios)9. Crush's Coaster (Walt Disney Studios)10. Arkham Asylum (MW) Seriously WTF Parkz..
  8. Don't know whether to laugh or cry but these new look logs are hurting my brain.
  9. Best then everybody tells MW how much they love the free lockers, while they still are free then huh?
  10. Indeed @GoGoBoy and while they are there wasting their own time, they ruin it for everyone else!
  11. No idea why Passholders are wasting their time visiting this time of year? If it was up to me I would block them out entirely (peak dates only like 26th Dec -7th Jan), unless they are prepared to pay loads more for a super premium pass..
  12. Taken from the MW maintenance page today: Wild West Falls Due to ongoing attraction improvements, Wild West Falls will remain closed until 1 February 2018.
  13. Thanks Parkz! From an Op's persepective, the theoretical capacity has me concerned. No matter how prepared Riders are pre-boarding, the unload/load time would likely add an average 3 minutes between dispatches. 400 riders per hour assumes seemless, max operation but add those unexpected delays of technical or rider issues and the Capacity could drop to 320-360ph.. YIKES! On a 7 hour day that's 2240-2800. For a Ride that's suitable for almost everyone, how will they manage this? They could give a single ticket to each Day Tripper and initially just 1 ticket for Pass Holders that could be booked online? From the Brogent i-ride website, here's a picture of the screen from behind and some motion stats of the Gondolas.
  14. .. or a dark ride that's like an old fashioned shooting gallery/gold rush themed?
  15. The Avatar headliner cost more than what the entire DW Park is worth! It won't be as Wild an experience either, however with advances in motion etc since Soarin I think the 'swooping' effect this ride system does, not to mention how versatile it is, it'll be a lot of fun! Remember it is being targeted to a family audience that a very broad demographic can enjoy together. Wow that themeing at the Europa Park one is outstanding! I don't expect much at all themeing wise, but I'm OK with that.
  16. ^ like I said 'for now '. All the same, the existing facility would limit themeing to be 'Gold Rush' and perhaps lead to doing a cool Haunted Mine theme? Not sure about sensitivity issues of the surrounding area though. It would afterall not be until 2019/20 so maybe enough time?
  17. Feeling a bit gobsmacked right now at this news, this is absolutely the best decision for DW - or any of our Parks. Village had every chance to build one for years, snooze you lose😉 I don't quite understand the Capacity of 4 x Gondolas. Maybe someone here knows but my guess is 2 x rows of 2 -or better still- 1 top row, 2 in the middle and 1 at the bottom. This would make more sense to me with the spherical shaped screen and mean that all carriages would have an equally great experience. For those who have been on Soarin, it has 3 x rows and 3 x levels (all starting from ground level) and then raised up to the screen. The experience for the far corner spots in each Theatre is not as good as the ones more toward the middle. Disneyland has 2 Theatres, WDW has 3. This DW version would have the Gondolas 'sliding' out of the wall and into 'show' position, making it much more suitable for the DW Theatre. At just 40ppl per cycle, I am disappointed to hear DW once again being so conservative with the Capacity. Assuming the ride/show presentation being around 5 minutes, the complete Cycle time would be up to10 minutes. If the total Capacity is indeed to be 40 per cycle, expect VERY long and slow moving lines to ride. 🤔 Sidenote, when MW opened BATR it ran 6 x motion bases of 20 = 120 per cycle of up to 8 cycles per hour.. only when it was very quiet, they would reduce to 2 x motion bases (40 riders) per cycle. I think they really need 6 Gondolas, cut back to 4 (or less) as required.
  18. Have you been to MW lately? Frankly, the entire Entry area is looking tired and worn. Not at all a great first or last impression. Given other big enhancements outside the front door in the works - and as we approach the Park's 30th, this is most definitely an area in need of some serious love right now.
  19. Thanks for the pictures! The Station area is being reclaimed (for now), simply because of cost. That's all
  20. Ardent are stalling... This with (Wipeout) could & SHOULD have happened months ago. Too late for me and my camp. Our DW passes have now expired and like so many others out there, we won't be renewing them anytime soon.
  21. Mmm that's some tasty looking greywater you got there DreamWorld! I particularly like the Thematic Enhancement of the "Streets Umbrella" -such a nice touch indeed for an Attendant to be placed under and watch the Logs float on by? WoW, Stella stuff DW.. Amatueriust Stupidity at it's Moronic best! One thing is for sure:
  22. Thanks @Richard and the Parkz Crew for delivering another informative and well thought out read! You are doing a mighty fine job of getting people talking about the juicy stuff that matters in our Parks. I really hope Ardent do sell DW - and in 2018, because frankly they are possibly the worse thing that ever happened to the place. Not only do they need a new Owner but as Richard put, an Owner who knows and cares about delivering the Theme Park experience. A business that is not in it for a quick buck and one that has the big bucks to spend on it's ageing infrastructure.
