  1. But it isn't/wasn't a permanent fixture as it was?
  2. At least give it a crack when it opens? I reckon you might be pleasantly surprised!
  3. Groundbreaking. Hair raising. Fast. Exhilarating. Smooth. Intense. Mind blowing. Terrifying. Thrilling. Just some words that come to mind with this. So Push, how can you possibly say this doesn't look.. fun?
  4. My guess is the area is being improved. Maybe not so much improved, possibly something a little more permanent and versatile
  5. The 'big' drop in the main room I am OK with, the one that follows has a very tight dip, making it jarring at speed. I agree that last little drop pressing onto brakes at what feels like high pressure is a bit of a whack to the knees! In an indoor coaster I doubt the track deteriorates a great deal however I am sure the trains themselves are the culprit. Despite an ongoing maintenance program (they never stop working on them) like anything, they will surely wear over time. I wonder how far each of these cars has actually traveled in it's lifetime? Fun thought.. how about some spinning cars for the end of the year as part of the ride's new lease on life?
  6. I get that @Santa07. I have also ridden it more times than I care to remember, right back to when it very first opened. I have no problem with the jerkiness or jarring of the ride, the physical sensation on the last dip in the main room and sudden braking before unload on that last little dip, imo are showing their age. I don't think it would take too much to improve the comfort of these areas and knowing how talented many of the Fitters are in the MW Tech services department I wouldn't be surprised if it's something they have on their wishlist to address.
  7. 2 pages on and what does all this have to do with Scooby-Doo refurb? Ugh cmon ppl back on topic!! I rode SDSC last week and I must say I am really not enjoying those last two dips on the ride. Yes, I am getting on in the years but generally I don't have a problem with the ride's comfort. Is it just me or would others agree this part of the track could probably do with some tlc?
  8. Thanks @themagician check the angle of that drop heading into the loop? What an absolute panty rippa!!!!
  9. Say what? does Skeeta even work for VTP? So why the secrecy?
  10. Care to share Skeet? Gee I really hope that stupid "tell and die" clause follows Mr Fisher out the door and kicks him up the arse on the way out! When John Menzies was the big cheese he would proudly share the future with Employees during monthly functions. We were never told to keep quiet on it and when you consider up the road already know exactly what is going on long before it's made public (and vice/versa) honestly, why does this continue to be such a big deal?
  11. And plenty also said that it wouldn't be WW themed...
  12. I agree that a family ride that has 'safe' GP appeal is a wise choice and given their recent trips to the USA I'm becoming more hopeful of a ' Soarin, Flying Theatre' style attraction. It's definitely an experience and one that stirs emotions/carries with you. When they refer to repurposing land for Attractions etc it is becoming clearer to me now that Vintage Cars will be relocated and cover a similar path to where TRRR stands today. This makes sense to build phase2 of Corroboree where the VC presently sit. Another big challenge is making all 3 of these rides safe and compliant in the eyes of Insurance companies and the Park's standards. The Mine ride has been reconfigured enough times now to be deemed "in-house' and it's safety restraints are an issue if you can unlock the seat belts (and stand up?) during the ride. With no current restraints in place, is the Log ride also a potential safety issue? Same goes for the VC's and even though it's very slow ride, I wouldn't expect DW to take any chances when it comes to safety.
  13. Pretty sure the Nov/Dec dates for SDSC were about the same as last years when they ripped everything out. I think the August dates will give better clues as to what is happening considering it's current state their are only few reminders left that it is indeed a Scooby-Doo themed ride. While it makes sense to cash in on an affordable re-etheme as it stands, it also makes sense to weigh up the options and consider the foreseeable popularity and on-going marketability of the said name and iconic MW ride. I remain cautiously optimistic that Scooby will remain and the overall experience plussed to give it a modern day lease on life.
  14. Fabulous shots thanks for your contribution @ThemeTendo!!!
  15. Of course! DW provide the land and Merlin pay for the rest.. Seems like a good deal for both parties!
  16. Thanks @Reanimated35, inspiring stuff! DW certainly need to continue to look outside of the box and think about what they do have and what makes them unique and great. I have long stood by the Australiana themes of DW and there is still so many more for them to explore. For one, I would love to see some Aussie Folklore return to the Park (yes - return) which would transition nicely to the Wildlife areas of the back of the Park. A centrepiece "Great Southern Land" flying Theatre attraction, a reimagined Mine ride and a family style dark ride would tick enough boxes to make such a new area well rounded. As far as bringing big International brands, how about a Legoland to take up all of the unused space? I think there is enough land to build a modest sized Lego Park there. The location is ripe to benefit both brands and would beautifully round off the entertainment offerings of the North Coomera precint, offering a true 'all under the one roof' alternative to the Village Parks.
  17. An old friend and former work colleague of mine plays a pretty big role in MW's branding nowadays. This person is utterly passionate about the product and has unconditionally devoted their entire working career to the Park and it's reputation. Like with any big corporation, there are many constraints that departments have to work within (budgets being a pretty big one). External influences beyond the control of businesses can also be pretty challenging when you have a plan mapped out in front of you only to suddenly scrap everything and start all over again. There goes the budget 😐 I have no doubt whatsoever that plans have changed for this new Coaster from it's original - perhaps continuing the whole 'good to be bad' thing? That's why I originally guessed it to be a WW Coaster on these polls. I am also pretty sure that being overly cautious about releasing details of the ride to the Public is a fact and the timing isn't quite right. Yet.. ..about 2 more weeks to go peeps!! For the record, this is all pure speculation!! My insider and former colleaugue is far too dedicated to tell me for sure, I wouldn't dare ask. That and the fact that they know I wouldn't keep my mouth shut about it either! And they would be right😂
  18. I am really pleases to say that I have absolutely no idea what all this is about!! Why give airtime to dramas on a place that we should come to for pleasure? Good on you @Theme Park Girl for having such thick-skin 😃. We are such a small community, there really isn't room for shit-slinging before someone get's their nose out of joint!
  19. I visited MW today and took this little snap on my phone on the way out the door. Looks like 2 x 'W' - or 'm' ?
  20. My retort to these twits: "They certainly aren't going to be safe from extinction if entirely left in the Wild"
  21. Conservation is a key message of Seaworld and Dreamworld. On a recent trip to DW I learnt about the 'Save the Bilby fund' and a little about the Park's efforts with other Wildlife. As I am sure most are aware these little critters are on the verge of extinction and if it weren't for the efforts of places like DW we may have already lost them. If you would like to find out more about Dreamworld's program on Australia's own Easter Bunny, click the link below: https://savethebilbyfund.com/about-save-the-bilby-fund/supporters-patrons
  22. Thanks @Theme Park Girl, remind me to visit your blog sometime😃
  23. I believe the current 'tallest' part of the new Coaster is around 30 metres, or roughly the same height as AA. RCDB again has the top of the lift at 196.8 feet (59.98 metres) as I check it now.
