Wow, its free. Thanks Dreamworld but it is about time. Interesting attraction I wonder how it will cope capacity wise. I have a feeling it will be popular now it is free.

OK what I meant by this Is that he reckons we only get annoyed when DW add up charges which is not true. He made this statement: implying that we don't care when WVTP add them only when they go to DW. This is the statement that I meant could not be backed up and was untrue because in reality we do kick up a stink when any park adds an upcharge unjustifiably. Hope that makes sense Cheers,
-
Yes we were the ones originally saying it DW cannot be compared to SW. And all the stuff about quality and quantity of rides as already been discussed above. Disagree if you want to. Again it has already been discussed. Verdict; it was a false accusation made by Whitsy that could not be backed up. BTW thanks for the translation

I am surprised no one has mentioned it but due Corkscrew and Pirate ship being under maintenance SW have opened the water park up to all guests free of charge. My sister was there on the weekend with a group and they all got in free, the only complaint made was that the water park was short staffed and operators where running back and forward from one attraction to another. Can anyone confirm this? Cheers,
-
That's right, what annoys me is that it is not included in the entry ticket which is already so expensive. BTW are many people actually paying for the water park or is it deserted? It wouldn't surprise me if the charge is eventually dropped, or the water park scrapped with in the next couple of years.

Yeah but neither is the amount at SW San Diego Compare the two it is pretty even. So does SW Australia, again look at the lists above. Re the whale issue, it has been discussed over and over; bottom line Sw Australia will probably never get whales.

^Yeah most of us did kick up a stink about WVTP introducing the charge at SW. It is unfair to say that most members only dislike upcharge attractions when they go to Dreamworld. That is probably untrue but if you are making that statement in relation to quantity of rides, then yes you are right. The only difference is that SW is a marine park which in general only consist of a small amount of rides and a vast majority shows, exhibits and attractions. DW on the other hand is a dry amusement park which are usually entirely centered around rides with a small margin of shows and exhibits.

How long is the flume staying for?

A little off topic here but does anyone think it will be an absolute nightmare down at MW and the other WVTP parks this Easter. With all the Q150 people and plus the usual extra tourists and interstate visitors. I think we may see some attendance records broken.....................maybe. BTW what is MW current attendance record? Cheers,

I can't wait to see what is going in there. Even if it is a replacement and they are the same as they other ones though I hope for something varied.

Thanks Spotty but where is the link?

Sea World Resort to get Water Park from Sea World
cadboy replied to Bush Beast Forever's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Haha, can't believe a section of my post got in that article. I think it is so rich to charge for the water park especially after such an entry fee, but that is business for you. -
Well I agree with everything expressed above. It it sad but can't be denied. It seems the bar has suddenly been dropped over at WVTP and might be a long time coming before it rises again. Running rides without effects really annoys me. I mean for Scooby, half the reason we love the ride is for the superb themeing it used to be famous for. With half the effects off in the disco and scrap on the final drop the whole ride seems like a waste of potential. What happened to all the great things happening to the ride, fixed this fixed that. It only seems to be getting worse. I rode it way back in Christmas 2006, after the ride I got off thinking that is one of the best themed rides in Australia and also one of my favorites. The disco room was filled with fog; lasers were going crazy and the final drop well hidden. It all contributed so much to the experience. I wonder if I would get off thinking the same thing if I rode now. Movieworld's reputation is on a fine thread right now. If they keep downgrading customer experience, ride quality and theming they are just undoing all the great work WV has worked so hard at in the last decades. They have built up a great reputation and earned the top spots for theme parks in Australia, don't go and undo the work you have already achieved. I hope our parks come out stronger and better equipped from this crisis we are facing not make the mistake of sacrificing everything for the big dollar and forgetting about the fundamentals of running a business and a successful company. Please don't let 2009 be the year we remember as the time when WVTP took a nose dive. Tarnishing their reputation and sinking to the depths where DW seems to be climbing from. Rant over Cheers,

Lets hope we see this turned around in the near future or we may have a potential DW disaster on our hands. What is they WVTP CEO doing? What measures have DW taken to battle the economic downturn, anything yet?
-
I have feeling we are about to see a heap of on ride videos appear on youtube I wonder how long it will take before some idiot brings something on the ride and drops it injuring someone. Only time will tell.
-
Yeah, I wish they could just keep it consistent. I mean how hard can it be to keep it running the same all day or is it a financial thing so they only run them full on at certain parts of the day to save money.

I was just looking around on Myfun I noticed that on Wet'n'Wild's ride page both terror Canyon 1 and 2 have been removed. Though the attractions maintenance web page still states that the Terror Canyons are still under refurbishment.
-
I don't know about you but during the pre ride section where the walls are cracking and there are pipes coming down from the roof I could feel the steam and it was warm and moist. Same thing when going through the building but that is just my experience.
-
Wow it seems as if nearly all attractions are getting work done. Good to see I hope Looney tunes river ride is next on the agenda. Has anything else been done to SDSC, are all the lasers on in the disco room; fog?

Hollywood Stunt Driver on Getaway tonight
cadboy replied to Gold Coaster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Excuse my ignorance but how could you have already seen it if it only starts at 7:30pm? -
Or it could come out near the stage show as that is closer and in the Wild West Area and the exit could come out on the left side of Wild West though they would need to extend the exisiting path further up towards the drop. A wooden rollercoaster doesn't have to be bumpy. Some of the newer ones from Intamin or GCI are apparently really smooth. I personally would like to see the coaster come on more of the thrill side than family though a good mixture would still satisfy.
-
The good thing about woodies is that they are usually cheaper than steel coasters meaning we can get more but pay less. Something with lots of good airtime and steep drops; maybe an El Toro clone If a decent sized woodie was positioned between LW and WWF would noise still be a problem?

Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
cadboy replied to rival81's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah, I mean they must make heaps when almost everyone buys dinner. -
Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
cadboy replied to rival81's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah I know but the topic title suggests otherwise "Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season" kind of like a figure of speech. It is not really peak season but the crowds make it seem like it is. BTW wat happened to all the other peak season times in the year. It is not just Nov to Jan....what about Easter holidays, Winter and September. -
Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
cadboy replied to rival81's topic in Theme Park Discussion
How are the other parks going attendance wise? are they also still in peak season? WVTP have truely done a great deal by introducing the Q150 pass. The pass must be helping the company stay firm in these tough economical times.
