  1. Hey All I went to Lunapark on Saturday (day & night) My opinion on the new Lunapark Sydney..? Its one big joke!! Its not organised at all!! There is no prices on anything! The rides are all scattered over the park. It looks to open.Compared to the old Luna Park the new one isnt good at all. As you enter the park through Luna's Face, to your right is the original Rotor. As you keep on walking you see the Huge Bigtop tent on your right. To your left is the Ferris Wheel. The dodgems have been moved next to the bigtop tent and next to the Tango Train. And sort of infront of them is the Merry Go Round. The Wild Mouse seems to be undergoin some Maintenance. And the UFO is still at its original place it seems. For those who can remember (or Know) There is some sort of Indian looking building where the old big Dippers Entrance was. Well as you enter it there is some sort of memorial for the ride with paintings of the Big Dipper on the wall. And walking up the stairs you reach the Tumble big. Sadly the huge red fly thingy that stood at the entrance is gone! When you reach Cony Island you walk underneith the left part of it. You then come out on the back area (where the big dippers Helix Diveloop & Loop was) Now occupies the Ranger and the Spider. The spider doesnt have the big black spider it used to have standing over the ride. Well apart from the big changes and no pricing! The Park was packed out all day and night! At night time there was more young people than families. The only big grouped families that stayed looked like Tourists. I think the park will stay around for a while longer. As long as they start putting prices on their items, food and games! Screammachine
  2. Gazze Wrote: To answer your questions its a Yes answer to both. The helixus on the Taipan Coaster is really good. Its got some nice pull on it. And the cars are nicely themed. And VERY comfortable.! Schwarz Wrote: I think you might be refering to me not Shifty. Not sure which Ride your talking about with the bar??? . The Ranger is a good ride, I just think that the transition period goin from upside down to the bottom angle goes way to fast! You can really feel the preasure on your chest!.. OH well I think my late night thrill seeking last night is the reason I woke up with the Flu this morning!! Grrrr!!! I Hate being sick! OH well I miss out on two assesments tomorow! Which is fine by me! Then its holidays! Wooot Screammachine
  3. Hello Everyone! I just got back from the Eastershow. Wow what a hectic day this was. I'm tired and have a sunburned face  ! Lol... I thought I might put it in point form but I might aswell post a trip report so here it goes.. Well got up at eight and was waiting for the bus by nine with my three mates. Took took about 40mins to get out there. When we got there around the 10-ish the grouds werent actually to bad. We walked around looking at all the animal exhibitions and what else the show had to offer. Oh yeah before I forget, the pig racing was soooooo cool. For those of you guys goin, you have to go and watch it. By the time we finished all of our animal and woodchopping shows it was lunch time. I got this really good beef burger for about $5.00.. It was really good. But to make things funny it was right next to the cow exhibition thingy. Just thought I'd throw that in. Well after that we went to the showbags. I was prepared to get my ancles scraped off by ladies with prams, but its wasnt like that at all. The crowds in the showbag halls wernt to bad at all. We got what we needed and hired a locker to stash all our goodies in.(the lockers do come in handy) We just walked and walked and walked till about 5:50 when we got in que to get our Xscream wristbands. The first ride we went on was the Haunted Manion Ride. I totally do not like Haunted Houses!!!!! They sorta freak me out a bit. I think its cause of the darkness and people grabing you in the face. After that I went on my first Spinning Wildmouse. It definately made it on the top five of Fav. coasters. Unlike its old uncle the wooden wildmouse. I think this one creates more of a "off the edge feeling, goin around corners". After that we went on the dodgems. Same as everywhere nothing exciting about that. Yeah tonight was my first Rainbow Experience!! Its a pretty good ride. Great airtime and side to side falling on your friends lap motion . Just one bad thing about it.... Its way to short Afterwards we ventured on to the Megadrop. About the same as Space Prode. Nothing to geet excited about. The countdown down the bottom keeps you in suspence though. Its sorta the same as Space Probe''s except it starts over randomly but drops at Zero. Next was, The Claw. As allways this ride is my Fav. flat ride. Great speed and force as always . Just hoping someone could help me.Who is the manufacturer of the Claw?? After that we went on this ride called Megamix. For those who dont know its a flat disk open top ride that spins round and round. After a while the whole thing flips and you spin upside down. The restraints are terrible and the disk doesnt go fast enough to keep you stuck in your seat. The bruises on my shoulder will clarify that. We then went on cliffhanger. This ride so soooo Lame (with a capital L) its slow and very boring. Its only good if you have a fat couple in the car infront of you, so you can laugh at their fat arse cheeks! Next up was the Taipan Roller Coaster. Its a fairly good coaster. Has some good speed and helixes in it. Next up was the WORST Ride I'v ever been on (and thats WORST in capitals!!). The ride was called The Ranger. You all should know the twin pirateship i'm talkin about. Coming downwards after being upside down is SOOOOOOOOOOOO PAINFull!!!! I'v never felt anything like that in my life! It was so bad! Why does that ride pull so many G's?? Well after that we just went on the same and walked around mostly. Yay its my first trip report!!! I'm off to bed i'm sooo tired Screammachine
  4. I will probably be checkin out the park this weekend. Most likely be Saturday night. Going to the show tomorow. I'l be taking my digital camera with so i will be taking heaps of photo's. Screammachine
  5. Well when I was a Dreamworld the Guy Operating Wipeout said, that the Gravitron and Wipeout runs on the same power source and therefore they have to wait to each ride to start up first before the other one could go. I could see how these can affect each other though. As for the Tower Of Terror, I dont really care how high up it goes or at what speed it does it! As long as I dont stand in que for too long and get my ride on it. I mean there has to be something better to do than argue about a ride and its speed! Its like little kids sayin my daddies car goes faster than yours do! It doesnt get anywhere! Screammachine Oh yeah; Welcome Obstructure
  6. Agreed!! And If you are 27M in the air; you do actually wear a harness and you secure the "casualty" with a safety harness before you remove them. (thanks to the guys from SES! ) Oh yeah and as for the Made In Korea Tag! It all explains itself! Screammachine
  7. Oh you beat me to it!! Yeah I was watchin the Channel 10 news this arvo around five, and I saw the thing on TV. I think it happened at Lotteworld. It looks pretty freaky! I feel sorry for the people. The thing was apparently stuck for about 2.5 hours and then as they were lifting people off the ride the thing just dropped! If you saw you could could see people falling off the ride! It was pretty scary!! But things like that dont happen to often. If you think about it there is more car Accidents a day than what there would be accidents in a themepark within a few months! Richard do you have any idea on what happend to the ride? Screammachine
  8. Well I think it looks pretty cool to me!!! How much do these things sell for? Screammachine
  9. Wow thats a pretty good Collection of ride photo's you have there Huss. I used to have well and truly over 1000 photo's of RollerCoasters & some Flat Rides, but to my luck my computer decided not to wake up one morning. And was asleep for about a month till I got my new one. My hard drive got damaged with the old computer so I couldnt get all of my old photo's back onto my new PC!! Total Amount of photo's I have now would be about 200. On a better note, I finally got my digital Camera fixed so I will be able to take some nice photo's at the EasterShow! I just recenetly got 2 new memory cards aswell one 128mb and one 64mb! So prepare yourself for a well and truly jam packed review!! Screammachine
  10. The Olympic Park area wouldnt be to bad acrtually. You guys would not believe how much the prices has dropped to get people to hire venues over there! It was popular during the Olympics but not anymore. It wouldnt be a bad area to have one either. It would be easier to get to for me if it was there. On that same note i'v heard the same rumour GoBoi is talkin about. I heard about three years ago that Six Flags had looked into building at the site, but who knows what happend to that idea. With the ideas concering space... Try coming up to the northern suburbs. There is a fair amount of space over here. Its mainly a bit inland but it should do! But here is to wishfull Thinkin!!! Screammachine
  11. Well firstly I didnt see anything wrong with his opening line. Secondly the $85 cover charge is a fair bit, but if you are into performing arts it would be the ideal package. Not only are you there on opening night, but you get to see all these great artists doing their thing! Me personally, am not going. Its not my type of thing. I'l prob be goin later in the month though.. Screammachine
  12. My first visit was January 2001. That was when HB Land was still around. My first ride at Wonderland was On The Beastie. After that I cant remember. But the Spaceprobe did give me quite the kick! lol Screammachine
  13. Just a quicky. Maybe you guys shouldnt be so harsh on Shifty. The odd joke is ok but dont hammer it in. Anywayz.... In a way I could back up that story of the que lines. I went there last year at the start of the summer, and you would not believe how many people were in the park. The Bounty's Revenge and a que under the whole roof area and almost out to the entrance of the ride. The demon was about a 30min wait. And the Space Probe had the whole tunnel full of people and coming out into the entrance ramp area. As for The BushBeast the line was packed out and the same goes for River Rampage. I think this was pretty good attendance for Wonderland back then. Screammachine
  14. Good one Wonderbus Couldn't have said it any better! Ok dude you dont give a flying %$#@ either way if Sunway is any good or not. That goes the same for Wonderland. You need to change your attitude otherwise you wont be liked in here. The people on here dont have time for immature comments. As you would have read in some of our other post. Other than that Welcome Screammachine
  15. Hey Belgian. Does that mean Six Flags Holland is back to Wallibi Flevo again??? Or does it fall under the name of Wallibi Flevo? Screammachine
  16. This is all really, really sad. I would not say Wonderland will be leaving in a "Big Bang". I'm seeing this from a event organiser's point of view. Firstly Wonderland does not a budget to work this on. And secondly there is not enough time to organise this. And to have celebrity's appear you have to assure them a fat pay cheque months in advance. But to be honest with you all, I am truly sad Wonderland is closing!! I was looking at my photo's last night and it was hard not to feel sad looking at the photo's. It was like someone close to you is dying, and there is nothing you can do about it. And on another note. Sydney is a really, really big city. And it wont go too long without a ThemePark. Who knows; there might be development plans for a new park somewher! But who knows. I would hope to think so. And I think most of you would agree with me... Thats all for now. Screammachine
  17. Hey DJk. I remember everyone now. Well at least we had one thing in common we were all really wet. Me and my friends wanted to have a go at the basketball game. When out of nowhere he appears and starts giving us tips. We were like "ok....We'll be goin this way". And we all ran in fear!! But you get that though. I'v had an even wierder expierence at WBMW Madrid. We were in the Superhero area just lookin around takin it easy. And this old lady that looked like a bum came up to me and started hassling me (she spoke spanish) so I had no idea what she was on about. And then this security guard came out of nowhere and took het away. Now that was pretty random. Maybe the park is built near a loony house and somehow they escaped in MBMW. Now thats a scary thought... Screammachine Screammachine
  18. Well Dan.. One of my mny friends to be exact... lol Volunteers just stand around and help out people who are lost, work with the showbags, animal shows etc... They tried to get us all in my Tafe class to volunteer. No way from me.... I'd rather prefer to have fun. I do enough work as it is.... Screammachine PS*: Lova ya humour Dan, keep it up mate!
  19. Aaawww.... Johno you beat me to it!!! No worries. My one friend is gonna be a volunteer at this years eastershow and she told me what the new rides were gonna be! Can't wait till then Screammachine
  20. Well I am all set and ready to go for my Sydney Royal Eastershow 2004!!! I have my ticket in my backpocket and my Showbag list in hand!!!! Thats right with less than a month away the Showgrounds will be packed with thousands of people per day, ramblin on gettin showbags and goin on rides (or looking at the animals, Yeah Right?). Lucky for me my mum works for a big corporate company and she got me my ticket for half price!! Good on Ya Mum! So far these are the ones that are a must have on my list.... 2day FM Showbag World of Wonka Showbag The Mega Showbag The Greatest Showbag On Earth But there are many, many more too choose from. OH yeah and I'm gettin the $30 Exxstream thingy.. Screammachine
  21. Last of topic post!! To answer Andy's Question.... My first language is Afrikaans. Which is spoken by most whites from South Africa. Its a mix of Dutch, German and whatnot! Screammachine
  22. What? English is my SECOND language thankyou very much! But no reason for bad spelling. By saying, "I'm Go..". Means up i'm for whatever.... You a english teacher are ya? Or should I say you?
  23. I sorta think cliffhanger would be some sort of Inverted Pirateship. I was there about 2 years ago, and it was called HangOver. But I could be wrong. Mega drop would have to be some freefall sorta thing. Maybe we could arrange a meet if possible. I'm go.. Screammachine
  24. Hahahaha. Band Camp. Hopefully Not!! I hope they place me in a good camp; Eg. Watersports, Sports... And hopefully not some run down camp where I have to live with freaks in the middle of nowhere for 3 months... Screammachine
  25. Oh yeah. How good was the free coffee!!! Except the cups all had this mouldy thing down the bottom. I pulled down like ten cups and stacked them on top of each other till I found a clean cup.. The lady was like. "Excuse me what are you doin?", and I'm like "looking for a clean cup!". She looked at me funny and walked away. Screammachine PS**; Cant wait for the Eastershow. I already have my wishlist of showbags!!! Booya!! PS2*; Maybe just as a sugestion. Maybe us locals or other people should meet up at the Eastershow aswell. Me myself will be goin to the Tuesday. Where I can pay 30bucks for unlimitted rides! Go the CLaw!!!
