  1. Yes.. reopening the nocturnal house is definitely a factor in keeping guests disappointed GD is closed happy /s
  2. Leviathan doesn’t have Single Rider, you may be thinking of Trident? WWF and MC.
  3. Leviathan and Trident both are now available on VQ (free, but subject to availability) and Levi is available as a paid One Shot of $45 with Backwards also now available by the app.
  4. Correct, Magic Memories no longer is involved with Ride or Candid photos in park and it is now managed by Kodak. It certainly has some teething issues however. Existing 12M ride photo passholders should have received an email with a new barcode to utilise for the new system with a one month extension for the downtime when they changed systems, old Ride Photo passes have been upgraded to the one ones including candids. Considering previously the longest candid pass you could buy was $50 for 14 days I see it as an upgrade, but I understand why if you are only interested in ride photos its disappointing. Dreamworld to compare offer both for $59.95 or Rides (online only purchase) for $34.95.
  5. Village Key has been added to the main website (and ticketing page ) of note these competitions are mentioned only the One Pass comp has been mentioned previously and on the Village Key site itself, nor are any terms available for the others. https://themeparks.com.au/thevillagekey
  6. It really wasn’t, it ran fairly consistently from 11am until 3:30pm. More uptime than most rides at SW on Sunday. Bingo, it scrapes data from Accesso.
  7. My thoughts are it should have had an unadvertised soft opening period, but VRTP decided on a date and after countless other delays they weren’t willing to budge on it. I think managing expectations is important, knowing it didn’t have a soft opening period and the teething issues I wasn’t disappointed only getting one ride forwards and one backwards on Saturday but certainly many guests were. If you have the signs as shown above realistic expectations are set. It was on the news last night it was open! The park even with Atlantis in my opinion is not operating to the standard of a $129 day ticket (gate price). I want to give credit to the ride ops/on the ground staff however, they have communicated to guests well. I was actually on the train that had issues before the ride went down the rest of the day on Saturday, and on the last train of the day yesterday being evacuated from the break run. I have had a few ride delays/breakdowns before but none that went as smoothly as that did.
  8. Yeah, have been able to create an account but receive an error attempting to add the key to cart. For $25 as a one off I’m happy to experiment and see what it’s like and the benefits on offer. Still no details on the actual in park discounts.
  9. Don’t have any photos but similar to how Dreamworld does theirs for Winterfest. Probably the same external company. It’s located in the Intercity/IT Maze space. Free during day trade, and they have extended it to Jan 29. $15 during White Christmas. It’s great to see some investment in the event and the new floats are even more impressive in person.
  10. I was at the park yesterday, managed to get one ride backwards and one forwards. Was on the train with restraints checked and about to dispatch before it encountered issues and closed for the rest of the day trade, wasn’t due to wind. Did see Trident was running last night, but I’m still honestly not expecting it to be open today I’m extremely impressed with the theming/show elements of Leviathan, have to agree with others that forwards is a better ride experience than backwards.
  11. Bikash’s story has the line going out to the plaza. Listed wait time in the app is currently 45m, it was listed as 5mins earlier. Infrastructure has been built for VQ/FT but it is not yet operating.
  12. Given the last ones I have purchased from Australian parks were on clearance it seems there isn’t the market for them. $10 cheaper than at the gate online, there are some partner offers that include bonus vouchers but other than renewals there is no cheaper offer for the One Pass.
  13. I'm someone that definitely doesn't care about NFT's/web3 elements but as something that will get me discounts in park on F/B and Retail I may signup for $25. Some more info in the email sent on the 24th of Nov.
  14. Leviathan and Trident will be offered with Virtual Que. Sea World also now has One Shot (Fast Track) available ($10 for Storm and $5 for Battle Boats currently).
  15. It contains a fat load of nothing, just reminiscing. GOLD Coast theme park bosses are on the hunt for new rides and attractions. The Bulletin this week revealed in its Future Gold Coast coverage that Village Roadshow theme parks chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa was in the US this week to attend the IAAPA Expo trade show for the attractions industry in Orlando, Florida which showcases the latest in ride technology. While he was looking for new rides, clearing continued at the former site of a well-loved Gold Coast ride of yesteryear. The former Lethal Weapon roller coaster was a major attraction at Warner Bros Movie World in the 1990s and 2000s It’s one of the many thrill rides the Gold Coast has lost over the years. The Lethal Weapon was launched in 1995 at a cost of $16m and then-park boss John Menzies said it was created to bring more tourists in. “We have done a lot of exit surveys over the past couple of years, where we’ve asked visitors to the park what they may have thought could improve it,’’ he said. “The most common response is that the park needs a really exciting new ride. “What we have aimed for here is the ultimate experience in roller coasters.’’ It was rebranded to the Batman-themed Arkham Asylum in the 2010s before shutting down in 2019. It has made way for a giant Wizard of Oz-themed attraction. It was one of a range of thrill rides introduced in the mid-1990s. One of the most popular of that era was Sea World’s Bermuda Triangle which opened in April 1994. It took “travellers on a startling mission aboard Coast Guard research vessels into “the unknown’’ to investigate sudden volcanic activity and strange disappearances at sea.” Its giant fire-spitting fibreglass volcano could be seen from Southport and its bursts of flames from its roof would turn heads. It closed in 2010. Of course, the best-remember thrill ride was also the original – the Thunderbolt. Opened at Dreamworld in early 1982, it was famous for giant double-loop. Prominently used in advertising for the Gold Coast, it stood for two decades before being retired in 2003. Then-Dreamworld boss Tony Braxton-Smith said at the time it was necessary to say goodbye to old rides. “Removing the coaster paves … will herald some exciting developments in this part of the park, including the addition of some of the latest cutting edge thrill rides to be rolled out“
  16. I have always found the Wild West goes hand in hand with massive golden bananas.
  17. Have you considered it’s not planned. I visited the park yesterday from 2-4pm and can confirm I heard it had an issue at opening they were unable to resolve on the day.
  18. Movie World have announced DC Super Heroes & Super-Villains is returning for the peak period of 28 December to 29 Janurary - https://movieworld.com.au/dc-super-heroes-and-super-villains . Unfortunately it appears to be a very lite version of the event with only Riddler and Scarecrow being additions to the day to day lineup, no Penguin and Poison Ivy. The entertainment page lists two parade's (like the recent Tweety 80th Birthday Celebration) and the return of the Good Citizen Awards but otherwise just the usual daily Catwoman and Wonder Woman shows.
  19. Because it’s the current pass that the majority of Locals that visit hold. Just as they offer $50 Animal Adventures/Sea World Resort vouchers for renewals it makes sense to encourage in park spending. They also removed the two previous in park benefits (discounted digital ride photos and discounted unlimited sipper cup).
  20. I 100% expected them to keep it the same price as Rivals and it’s true they have it so high as some people will pay it. I more than likely will on my first visit and I’m sure a lot of those on holiday will too. $30 isn’t much on a $$$$ family holiday, a basic T shirt at the parks costs more. I’m one of those that used to do DCR Backwards most visits at $10 then $15. But can’t justify it at a higher price, did it once at $25 with a friend who never had before and haven’t done it since. I still question the logic of such a high price in offpeak where it does mostly run empty, have off peak pricing or discounts for Locals One Pass holders.
  21. I would guess @DaptoFunlandGuy is on the money. I’m fairly sure there will be an A-Frame in park advertising it on December 2.
  22. They really do need to stop testing updates on a live website..
