Hi guys Sorry to bump an old thread, thought it'd be better than starting a new one. Inspired by the great work JCGoldCoast has done, I've started working on yet another recreation. I think I'm close to right. A couple of things are bugging me, such as JC's problem of having too much track, but I can't seem to figure out where. Also, some of the G's are a little high, but most are pretty right. Please let me know any changes to make to fix up the G's, and the track length. Cheers guys! Edit: Added revised track file and two new pictures MySuperman.zip

I took some friends to Movieworld, and one of them was petrified of rides. We lined up for Superman Escape after throwing our stuff into the all-day lockers. We had to convince her it was perfectly safe and heaps of fun and not scary at all. We got to the end and saw the ride photo, and she decided we had to go again so we could all pose. This from the girl who wasn't game to get on it at all! Definitely a good choice for a first coaster.

Recirculation of water means the water has more time to evaporate, with movement providing greater loss. Any losses need to be topped up from somewhere.

That track is the first one I was working on Gazza. When I saw your track, I then started again with the woody I posted up first
-
Okay, so here's what I first knocked up for that space. When I saw Gazza's entry, I decided to knock up a woody to fit in with the Wild West space. I have no idea how you could theme this one, but I thought I'd post it for comments and such. workingtrack.zip

So I was at Movieworld today, and here's a bit of an update. Loony Tunes (now KidsWB) Loony Tunes River Ride has had a bit of an update. Theres improved animatronics in there, still some bad ones, but the one of Bugs hanging above the crocodiles mouth looks pretty new to me. There is now a kid's style bumper cars equivalent up beside the rocket ride. If it previously existed, my apologies for not knowing about it. The splash down area has reduced in size. The reduction is to make way for the merry-go-round being installed. It appears to be one of the swinging chair types, with canvas cover across the roof, like you would see at a typical carnival or town show. There was a white turban-shaped "attachment" with lights on it. I would guess this fits on top. The concrete was being painted. As I entered the river ride a section was roped off and was being painted green. As I exited the river ride the area was fine to walk on again. New fences are being installed for something. They are brightly coloured and feature curvy rails. Midway Games The new area being created at the corner of the Wild West area is in fact a midway games style area. I saw a barrel toss, the game where you squirt water at a target and your prize runs toward the top and one where you shoot the moving targets. I counted spaces for a total of 6 games of this style Intencity @ MovieWorld is now open. It features the games you would regularly find at an Intencity/TimeZone, however, some were quite obviously second hand equipment. The new dodgems area was behind a black wall, however the queue line and entry gates are visible inside the Intencity building Lethal Weapon All walkways to Lethal Weapon were closed. It made for a long walk from Scooby Doo to Superman (grrr) It appears Lethal Weapon has had a coat of paint. The first ride of Superman I had I noticed a cherry picker up doing work on the chain lift track. Those same cherry pickers were parked inside the walkway sections from what I could see through the gaps before I left Took a couple of photos for you all. No guarantees on quality, it was bright and it's only my 2 megapixel Nokia 6280.

I'm with AlexB. Chav???

I'm in agreement with Gazza that Wild West needs something else. So, like Gazza, I've gone for a wooden coaster. I call this one "Bandit". Edit: Removed Track File Re-Edit: Added Track File Bandit_070919143321000.bmp Bandit.zip

Hi All I'm keen on some sort of competition using NoLimits. Something simple where you get a coaster style and a scenario and you build to suit. Just wondering if anyone else is interested, and if so, who wants to be the competition facilitator? (Set the scenario and coaster, then judge them) Any other ideas are also appreciated! Cheers -Ads

The White Room was changed into the News Room, the Ice Room, the Eviction Room, amongst others. It was last painted green on the outside

I thought Mid-way Games already existed. Behind the bathrooms near the little mound with the graveyard outside of Scooby Doo. Perhaps they're relocating it?

See that 19 sitting at the bottom of your screen? If you click the back arrows until you reach 10, you will see that press release -
My only issue with Superman Escape is that my head seems to press against the seat in the wrong position. Theres a hard piece that seems to stick out a little and my head presses against that. The only other issue I've had with the restraints was when my friends and I decided to "fly" like superman throughout the ride. It hurt our shoulders, but was our own stupid fault. They tell you to hang on for a reason!

I would agree, that our parks really should be providing us with more information sooner. The one notable exception I think is Superman Escape. Look how long 01002 was around for before we found out what it all meant. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't we find out that it meant 0 to 100 in 2 seconds before the ride was finished? As for the ideal time to start advertising a ride? I guess it depends on what the ride is going to be. Superman Escape was a big ride, and so it got big advertising, in advance. Batwing, not so big, not so big advertising... Although, for the new ride, a name would be a good place to start. Maybe let the public know that its a world-first (Dreamworld love pushing world's first or world's-tallest, etc) and that its designed for the whole family. As for the issue of disclosure - you signed a contract with your employer, and that contract would dictate the terms of your non-disclosure with regards to any new attractions. I suggest you all brush up on them. If your employer chose to pursue it, they would only need examine the logs of R-C.com.au, determine what IP address posted your particular post, examine the logs of the ISP that owns that IP address, and get your home address. It's not very difficult to be tracked on the internet, regardless of how anonymous you think your account is. So, if you're allowed to say it, then please do, otherwise for your own sake, drop hints without directly disclosing it (unless thats not allowed either). I would suggest that you're not allowed to say it, but you can tell us when we're wrong...

It's been many years since I rode it, but in 1999 I went to Wonderland as part of a school excursion. The one ride I felt was properly themed was Space Probe 7. We walked down the corridors which made you feel like you were inside a futuristic building. Screens in the wall showing the problem and that evacuation was needed were great. Being only 13 I didn't know what to expect, and finding a shaking floor (I think it was) was strange to me, and I remember stopping before realising and continuing on. Lining up for the individual "escape pods" was good. The thing it lacked, besides the fact the screens inside the bubble weren't working, was a conclusion. You dropped back to earth, and then they just opened the back door and out you go.. I think the conclusion to the story, which if you're going to theme to a story, you really should do, is lacking in almost every ride. Exclusions to this would be Wild West Falls and to a small extent Loony Tunes River Ride

Such lockers do exist. I'm a member of Fitness First gyms, and the locker rooms all contain lockers that have a coin-slot in the back of the door. You place a $2 coin in the top. The lock on the outside will not close without the money in it. You place your stuff in the locker, close the door and turn the key. You take the key with you, and your stuff is secure. When you return and turn the key to open the locker again, the $2 falls down out of the lock into a small coin-return. I was reading in the original forum this thread started in, that somebody felt that Lethal Weapon was the ideal situation for a station. I would agree with this, although to couple the clear view of the station with the ability to unload belongings into lockers/boxes prior to being allowed into the station platform would make things perhaps a little more efficient. If you take Lethal Weapon as an example, have the locker system in the movie theatre preshow building, and have a second entrance to said area from the exit path. With regards to Superman Escape's line-up safety instructions, I think this is a great idea. Although, if you're in a 30 minute queue with it playing every 2-3 minutes, it gets really old really fast. The idea of having the queue line raised above the station platform would actually make a lot of sense with this ride, considering it is said to be based in a subway, which are known to be beneath street level, yet you walk up the ramp....

Superman Escape.. Does it normally break down?
ads086 replied to wakeboardandy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The fact its cold does make a little bit of sense Cold makes metal contract - so the cable would be slightly shorter than normal, and the tension on it would change because of that -
Quick thought on the lasers: If they are systems such as nightclubs and the entertainment industry use, they most likely have internal fans, but these are not enough to cool them completely, and often times will turn themselves off to allow them to cool enough. I've seen this happen in a nightclub where they had 4 lasers across the wall that would spray out over the crowd. Every so often the third would not be working. It turns out it's an auto-cooldown feature in the light. When I last was at Movieworld (26th May), everything appeared to be working properly. Some of the lights in the "eyes" of the cars weren't working properly. They've added an LCD screen to the queue line to make it a little more interesting. Some additional theming was added through the hairpin near the "death" figurine. The fog near the "hidden" drop was working again, although with the red laser it really does it no favours. The green made better sense, as it fitted the theming of the 'jungle' better, and also did better to hide the drop. Congratulations t-bone on the weightloss. I'm a little bigger than the 90kg mark, and I don't have any problems with restraints on any ride at Movieworld, so if you're down to 90 you should be fine!

Spotty, Pretty sure that would be violating Copyright laws.

Many thanks Richard. That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!

Hello All Not sure if this is the right board to post it in, if it's not, please feel free to move it. I'm looking for the music that is played on Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster in the "main" room after the elevator lift. If any of you know where I can find it, what it's official name is, or anything else helpful, could you please post it here. Many thanks!

I agree with Adam on this one. One car cannot move into a section until the car in front is clear of that section. As far as computational logic, its as simple as: IF block is occupied THEN stop car OTHERWISE let car go When you think about it, theres a maximum of 6 cars in the stations at a time (2 load, 2 wait, 2 unload), and the unload cars can't move into the wait area until the wait cars move forward, which doesn't happen until the load is dispatched. 6 cars in station means 12 running around the track. Assuming there are 2 in the lift, thats 10 cars on the track. Theres 4 cars running around the track prior to the lift, that gives 8 cars to run around the main room/exit track. From what I can tell, the turntable is one block, about half way down the hairpins is another block, the underside of the hairpins forms another block, the last drop is another, and theres at least three in the exit track/room. That means that if the station is loading efficiently, then all cars will run smoothly. I imagine alot of the problem would be young children, and guests who don't understand what's going on. I've seen an attendant almost yell at someone to sit down, or to put their bag on the floor before. Just a side note here: I noticed on the dispatch control box, theres a light with a label "Track Cooldown". Has anyone seen it, or seen it turned on? And what happens when it does?

If anybody who went to this has any photos, could you please post them? It would be great to see some of these great additions/changes that Movieworld has undergone just for one night!
-
Sorry I hadn't replied any earlier, I've been away and haven't had a chance to get on here. One thing I failed to mention was the after the first hairpin turn on Scooby Doo after the turntable, there was fog machines working there that either weren't there before or I'd never noticed. The air blast at your ankles is a small tube sticking out of the wall, as you turn a corner before you get to the police car/cab area. I don't know if the whole train feels it or just those sitting on the side closest to the loading doors, but sitting on that side three times I felt it. And just one other thing - a flash of blue light that rushes past the train - like it matters if its done with a moving head or a mirror. You only see it for what.. 1 second?? And if its really bright outside, you often don't see it at all. Just a thought.....
