Sydney used the large ones akin to DW cinema and the Roxy. Large and polarised. Meanwhile when i visited the Melbourne one, it was the same smaller Active Shutter that's used at places like Reading Cinemas or on 3D tv's manufactured by anyone but LG. Polarised Vs Active Shutter

Its easier to design a working interdimensional portal than it is to keep teenagers doing thing for shits and gigs. -
Dreamworld - 2017 Log Ride reopening

I'm intrigued. Please, do tell. -
I would love to see a massive IMAX Dome. Considering the immersiveness and whatnot, if a film can be built around that it would be nothing short of amazing. Even the significantly smaller Star Wars Battle Pod arcade game that uses a dome screen does a damn good job of throwing you into your environment whether it be Endor or Takodana. My only quip with laser projection IMAX is the change of glasses. Instead of the massive polarised glasses where you could sit at the front and still watch the entire film without moving your head, you now have smaller lens Active Shutter which is a different kettle of fish. But instead of the minimal movement i had in Fury Road and Age of Extinction (both of which were front row at Sydney), i was having to move my head to actually look around the screen to see things during Force Awakens (5 rows back).

Driving ranges and golf in general is normally seen as a boring old persons sport. Think of it like in high school, the person who would have done Scouts or whatever "social" game was popular at the time whether it be a card game like Magic or Pokemon, or a tabletop like Warhammer or D&D. They would have copped alot of shit for those. In my HS one of the Friday afternoon sports we offered was golf. Only 1 person signed up for that and he copped alot of shit for it too, but the moment the school announced 6 months later that people with X amount of merit point things were going to Aqua Golf out at Penrith, people payed attention. While it may only be across young people and those in the lower socio-economic bracket, there is definitely a stigma.

I think people just "don't get it" because of the stigma around golf and driving ranges. But tell them its a driving range into water, add the tag line "Aqua Golf" and you have a winner.

Considering the amount of things they want to put into the the ribbon when it reopens, including 2 IMAX screens and offices and whatnot, id think its a safe bet to say no, it wont be the same size.

Is this one of those cases where, it's a country where no matter what goes wrong its instantly the tourists fault no exceptions? ala Bali and Thailand? And if you count it, World Expo's going to be just down the road too of the other side of the airport.

Wild West Scooby Justice League Driving School (kind of ironic to install that in QLD) Storm Wipeout I considered SE, but only half is some degree of themed. At least Scooby has something during the rollercoaster section. Same being said for Storm.

Parkz News Ardent Leisure CEO Simon Kelly resigns after six months

I'd just say the entire concept of a shareholder driven company is a bad move. While it's only a tv show, Silicon Valley I've found is the best way to show why its bad. Nothing good has come from the decisions Pied Piper have made running a shareholder driven company. Let alone Hooli or any of the others. -
People generalise. People use Dubai when talking about the UAE, Perth covers anything within a 2-10 hour radius, Sydney covers everything up to Bathurst, Melbourne covers anything down to the peninsula etc.

Christ no, that's one of the worst series incarnations.

Theme Park Maintenance Schedules 2017

"Old Days" When i was a wee lad all we had were Virginia Reels, Scenic Railways and Side Friction rollercoasters. I still remember Luna Park at Glenelg... -
It's a surprise then that they didn't just contract a couple of modellers/sculptors for a few months to do it then. Would have been perfect for the down time between set building for Pacific Rim and Aquaman.
-
That's why i'm somewhat surprised they can get away with the likes of Wonder Woman. Although i also think with Dubai being the tourist hotspot it is, they're a little more relaxed.

Theme Park Maintenance Schedules 2017
jjuttp replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
About 3 times a day. -
Wait, are you implying there's a decent ride at Motiongate?
-
I think theres also the question of "How do you theme a waterpark?" And i think "Like Dubai" is a good way to answer that.
-
Think about the relocation package though. Plus i would love to see another WB park based around the other titles in their arsonel. As a massive fan of the studio itself, i feel ours to be a tad lacking in the movie department.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
jjuttp replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
And how many people saw the ride vs how many just saw mountain theming? -
I think Australians tend to not care about theming because we never get any of it anyway. I'd say we have 6 well themed rides and 4 of them are in the same park when it comes to the GC. If we had more cohesive and immersive theming, then maybe people would care more.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion

It could also be condensed to combine the areas of the Cinema and Eureka for a ride/Simulator. -
People don't go "I want a boost, ill just go down to Dreamworld. $90 is a good price to pay for a $6 drink.". Apart from rent, DW would get no profit from it unless its in the contract.
