Well that all depends on where the coaster would come from. I imagine it would be incredibly costly if it came from Europe (since these type of things need to be shipped). This is just wild ballpark figure but probably 100-200k to move?

^ Tbh if it's going to be off schedule, it'll be after. I can't see this getting down in LESS than 2 months. Dont forget testing usually takes a couple of weeks as well.

^ Aussie World would have a bigger attendance rate than MM though and it definitely has the potential for a lot higher. If they're going to put in new attractions, they should veer away from lower capacity rides as it impedes on future growth possibilities.

Alpine coaster would be an AMAZING replacement for the Luge. Only thing though its very low capacity. (probably around 100 ppl an hour) so they'd probably have to make it upcharge. But I could deal with that.

I don't think a theme park on a ship would be commercially viable, that's probably why they never did it.

^ They used to have a Toboggan type ride call The Luge. You sat in carts and went down the hill raceway. Was a LOT of fun and used to be the main reason people went to Aussie World at all. But I think it was quite dangerous and had insurance issues. If you rode the chair swing/ferris wheel you would've seen the track up to the back of the park. I don't think Go Karts are a good idea though since the Big Kart Track down the road would be too hard to beat (I love that place )

I have always thought waterslides (similar to The Beach at Wonderland) would do wonders for that park. A beach/surfboard theme would fit in well too since that's quite Aussie/ Go when the flume opens though in Dec, just imo. PS How much would it cost for 4 slides (say they were 2nd hand and repainted) + a beach area similar to Wonderland? It couldnt be above 3 million surely? Or am I being optimistic?

I agree with you. What I love about AW is that you can go there without taking out a mortgage and no have to wait in any lines. I do agree though, they need to head more in the direction of thrill rides. They've got plenty of kids rides + now with the flume (another family ride), they need to continue aiming toward the teenage/young adult market. That way you have a whole family day out.

I don't know you guys, imo they have enough of these type of rides, they need attractions that are going to bring people to the park. Unique stuff now. Instead of spending more money on flats you can visit at the Nambour show, they need uniqueness (flume and redback are steps in the right direction). But then again there is no "right" answer, there is only opinion. And I hope I don't come across as abraissive, if so sorry

^ That would give the park an incredibly cheap feel imo and not the route they should go in. Sure, maybe the building isn't right for a Ghost Train BUT a well themed ghost train would be a far bigger hit than R&R which doesnt really bring anyone to the park and wouldn't be a loss at all if it was replaced with a better dark themed ride.

We had a similar day, but we did LW + HWSD since WWF was down for maintenance. It felt like an incomplete day (probably because it was) but we still enjoyed it somewhat. Still, it paled in comparison to my first couple of trips there as a kid. I'm glad we decided to get the vip pass though since I wanna go back and try Green Lantern

^ You're right but Aussie World needs to do things on a very thin budget since it's a tiny park. A 6-7 million single investment just won't happen in the foreseeable future I'm afraid (wishful thinking). 2-3 million could basically set up a decent ghost train if they were smart about it. They could 2nd hand tracking + carts but make it so it looks new + put in good theming. The thing with ghost trains is you don't have to have the BEST thrills or shiny new track, it just needs to be themed well. So if you get the track on the cheap (let's say 1 mill for just a standard 2 storey 2nd hand ghost train + carts, then you can spend 1 mil making it look amazing).

I've seen a lot of "what song did you just listen to" type of threads on a lot of forums so for here you cay say what was the last park you went to + give a mini review of the time you had. And each time you go to a park you can come to this thread + post your new review!

I'm going to link the managers to this thread so they'll see it so come up with some good (albeit sensible) ideas Let's say they were to invest another $2-$3 million in the next 5 years, what would you buy the park? Imo, sell off the rock n roll rebel, build another story on top of the building where the rock + roll rebel was make a Scooby Doo-esque Ghost Train. Rock + Roll Rebel, while decent, isn't a drawcard. If you get a decent themed ghost train in there, then that also gives them a lucrative oppurtunity to do Fright Nights at Halloween and will really give them a good attractive dark themed ride that people WILL go to the park to ride time and time again as it will be unique.

OMG they have an admission charge? That is outrageous since the only "amenities" they have is a total and a few tables + chairs. And yeah, AW is amazing value in comparison. Tbh I dont think many people go to Thrill Hill. TH + The Big Pineapple were doomed when the Nambour bypass when in in the early 90's.

^ You have NO idea how much I used to love Thrill Hill. My dad and I used to go there a lot when I was younger and the slide IS a lot of fun. It's far better than the Mach 5's at W&W simply because its on a natural slope and you have room to move. But I heard the place has changed owners a lot and yeah it's gotten pretty expensive. I'm surprised to hear it's still open actually. Thought it went the way of the Pineapple.

^ Agree. I think they do have some quality attractions though - Dodgems are far better than Movie World's, Octopus ride is fun, Swing ride is nifty, Rock & Rebel has some cool effects + of course the Wild Mouse and now the Redback. Oh and you get a good view from the ferris wheel. I think in the next 3 years though they should add something like the wipeout (dreamworld) /rampage (Adventure world) or some type of air thrill ride. If they want to continue to grow then it's imperative they keep putting the profits back into the business. Maybe in the next 5 years they could have a few water slides too up the back there. Sunny Coast has NO slides. It's an oppurtunity.

^ Yeah that's what I meant - the brand didn't appeal to kids. I mean you can slap lipstick on a pig but it's still going to be a pig, if you catch my drift. That's why it didn't appeal to kiddies.

^ IKR. It's sad what happened to the place, the owners who bought it in the mid 90's just did absolutely nothing to it and they didn't even spent money on maintenance. Anything that broke they just left it in disrepair (like the sad fate of Tomorrow's Harvest). I hope that ride gets revamp for the reopening!
