  1. How many racing themed coasters does one park need? I hope they don't advertise it as an all new coaster.
  2. Great job Mark, looking forward to the new season. 30000 season passes is an awesome amount. Any platinum passes left?
  3. Adventure World really pluses their rides now. I'm not surprised it cost double. $12 million for a euro fighter was a good deal considering how much Saw cost.
  4. http://tmarque.com.au/browse/reputation_management/trademarks-owned-by-adventure+world+(wa)+pty+ltd/ http://tmarque.com.au/browse/reputation_management/trademarks-number-1679919/kraken-trademark-owned-by-adventure-world-wa-pty-ltd On the other hand, it looks like the Free Fall Trademark has lapsed. It would be cool, if unlikely, that they would retheme it.
  5. No, been busy at work. If I had the chance to do it online I probably would have by now.
  6. Or turning up to the service entrance and producing photo ID. Is that a photograph or a licence? Too many questions.
  7. Anyone thinking they should release an App with their electronic suite upgrade?
  8. Hope he knows that. I trust he's going to a better place. I understand why they have to do it. I think it's going to be really rough on him in the meantime. Good luck, Henry.
  9. Worst case of hogging I heard of was in a review for Outback Splash. Apparently, people had been going down the water slides and taking the mats with them. That's just plain mean!
  10. Yeah, I tend to avoid Adventure World during those days or just have a chilled one, lazing by the pool in the afternoon. The Fast Pass would probably be best value on the go-karts or the slides as they get a big queue really quickly. You don't really need it on Abyss or Freefall, especially if you ride in the first hour. I used to ride Abyss two or three times. Go up the hill to Freefall and then chill out on the chairlift if it had opened up by then. It will be interesting to see how the new ride affects traffic patterns. Will people swim first, then do dry rides?
  11. ^Funny, but true. There's a bit of reaction on AW's Facebook Page. People are doing the maths. I think the original Early Bird Season Pass is tough to beat. I appreciate that Adventure World doesn't want its Fast Pass system overloaded. The Platinum souvenirs are almost like an exclusive club thing. They're also getting a bit of feedback with regards to people walking up the hill. It certainly will limit repeat rides for some people. There was an interesting comment about not doing enough to attract the seniors. I still think they're giving away the gate here. That's why rides like Thunder River Rapids at DW do so well (when they're open). It appeals to everyone. Even activities at Adventure World like feeding the Koi and Kangaroos could be made easier if they lowered the fence a little.
  12. Yeah, it adds up. Then you've got to front up to Adventure World. You never know, you might bump into Mark.
  13. All members from what I've seen. It would be interesting to see what extra benefits you get for paying the extra hundred dollars or so.
  14. This is interesting. Here are the platinum pass details. It looks like you have to be one of the first 600 to make it to the service entrance of Adventure World. The sale starts Thursday. From Adventure World's Facebook Page: More details about the Platinum pass. Apparently the Fastpass is for one visit only. This isn't really apparent from the Facebook Page. Mark, you might want to make that clear.
  15. Sometimes the attendants would need to be there to make sure that people follow their instructions. With regards to the thread title - I think plenty of visitors who have theme park-loving family members grin and bear it. I love those ones who sit down at a cafe and read a good book.
  16. According to King Carnival's Facebook page they are installing a 35 foot drop tower. I imagine it's probably similar to the Coney Drop at LPM. Probably a good use of space at such a small park that pretty much has Tweens as its target market.
  17. There is a lift hill for the tubes, just not one for people.
  18. These shots are from AW's Facebook Page today - everything else is miniscule by comparison.
  19. Like with backwards facing seats or reverse direction? I can't stomach backwards facing rides. Which would leave how many forward facing coasters at Dreamworld?
  20. ^ Not forgetting that they used to have a bunch of really good stage shows. Could you be a little more specific? Why wouldn't they put on less staff if they were trying to save money? They let you into the park. They might limit the hours some things are operating, but they're still living up to their side of the bargain. Or are you saying, like Big Kev, that it's only at places like Movie World where they haven't kept their classic attractions and now there's not enough to do? Or is it the fact that the management don't know what they're doing and don't care about service and has nothing to do with money?
  21. I think a lot of complaints about GC parks stem from this. People complain about long queues or not enough staff operating attractions. They should really offer a Universal Express type option for those willing to pay more.
  22. Yeah, I think if you got rid of the Grand Prix raceway at Adventure World you'd have a nice piece of flat land for a coaster.
  23. Great news, Mark. We're all looking forward to the new ride and seeing what's different around the park. I hope Alpine Mountain's being renamed. Can't wait.
