  1. That sounds really great, Mark. I think he's still in transit and you will see him tomorrow. It will only be 32 degrees then.
  2. ^I like how you think of that. Not long until you'll be on the ride.
  3. I think the cool whistle guy's name is Matt. He makes quite the impression.
  4. Yeah, season pass holders only! 7am ERT on the Abyss would be an interesting experience. I don't suppose they would allow gold class camping in the cabanas..?
  5. Big USS update from Dejiki. Latest shots of both coasters. It looks to be getting pretty serious with BSG. They've increased the amount of netting under the coaster too. Looks like they might just be waiting for re-certification and the remodelling of the Galactica PX shop. http://dejiki.com/2015/02/uss-update-2015feb/
  6. Yes, thanks Mark for listening. In the article, it mentions a lottery/ballot system. If people had to apply you would at least have a pretty good record of who was there. You could also allocate a percentage of tickets and camping areas strictly for families.
  7. I think we're starting a queue for tickets now.. Here's the original TPR article about Cedar Point: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1474513#p1474513 Yarli's Safari could end up looking like this...?
  8. Puss N Boots is testing - there's video up on @ Luke and the Temple of Fun. It certainly makes some interesting moves. http://lukeandthetempleoffun.blogspot.com.au/
  9. ^You could always rent a space on the Bungee West tower. I think a campover, like some of the smaller American theme parks have, would totally suit AW. Plenty of grass to pitch a tent. Rock your Adventure-side, anyone?
  10. Hopefully the slide will be this year, just next season.
  11. Some people are very vague with their definition of water park. Here's a development at Elizabeth Quay in Perth where they've described a collection of water fountains as a water park. It looks like a good idea. Perhaps they'll project images against the water like they do in Singapore or Disneyland. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-01-27/perth-foreshore-gets-10m-funding-boost/6048662?section=wa
  12. There's also change in tone and theme. I would be hard pressed to say that Affinity has a 'new storyline'. A couple of shacks, beach radio and some different facts and figures does not really equate to a new show. However, Imagine IMO was one of the best dolphin shows in the world. You wouldn't want to tweak it much more than they already have. A new show to me is like when the dolphin show on Sentosa went from the lagoon to Underwater World - there was a huge difference.
  13. Saw a nice big billboard for AW coming back from Perth's International Terminal today. Great to see AW thinking big like that. Often when I go to BNE I see the ads for the GC parks and wonder why it doesn't happen here.
  14. HK Disneyland is really miniscule, but very pretty. It has a lot of the scaled down charm of the original. I suppose an Australian Disney property would be even smaller still.
  15. It seems to be testing fairly frequently, but apparently no one in the park is willing to put a date on it. Fingers crossed for March.
  16. Pictures of the Puss n Boots train. http://lukeandthetempleoffun.blogspot.sg/2013/08/new-family-attraction-in-uss.html
  17. Lots of bouncy fun. I had no problems with the lap bars - isn't there more leg room in tie very first seat? Are you very tall?
  18. Yeah, Dreamworld's earlier opening time is excellent. The park was really empty at that hour when I went. I managed to get onto Thunder River Rapids in about 5 minutes and the same with the log ride - unheard of! SeaWorld really messed us around with no rides starting until 10am. Movie World was okay, with rides starting at 9.30am as well. No one seemed to know about Dreamworld's earlier starting time and they processed people entering much more quickly.
  19. There's no excusing that kind of behaviour. All the crew members I saw were excellent and greeted us with a smile.
  20. I just visited the GC parks - they weren't that busy - I was expecting much worse. He's visiting in February, after school goes back. I'm having trouble thinking of any bad service I had in the parks. On the whole, they were pretty enthusiastic.
  21. AOS certainly has a higher percentage of new content than the new dolphin show at SW. Some of the technology is very cool. There's a tribute to red dog. The yellow hats have been replaced with blue ones too.
  22. Yeah, I know there's not a lot you can do for an old coaster in two months. Yeah, I found the last half of the ride a little jarring, especially the two inline twists. I thought the AA train was interesting, as it didn't knock your head from side to side like the LW one. AA's not the Thunderbolt, but it's not as smooth as it used to be. With regards to WWF, I suppose it's unlikely they're going to bring the smoke effects back. Does that population sign still break?
  23. Looks like Outback Splash is closed again today. The fires to the north of the city are still blazing. This shot was from their property on the weekend.
