We hear you, Sea World! I hope they get some new attractions soon. It certainly makes watching nostalgic videos of SW depressing.

Could be seats and/or harnesses wrapped up - just inside the fence line - bottom left and right of the photo. -

No, just this spot and out the front. Feel free to post your pics. -

Closer view of Mi3. Does this mean Abyss is finally getting aircon in its queue line?! -
Universal Studios Singapore June 2017 Trip
iwerks replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I usually enjoy how quiet USS is to USJ, although I think it's still school holiday time in Singapore. Can't say enough nice things about the place , especially with it being only 5 hours from Perth. Plan to travel there again soon. Nice trip report. -

I'm sure it will happen some time in the next month to get people excited about new memberships. -

@Tim Dasco - you just got trolled! @Mark Shaw - any idea if AW has any plans to refurbish their restaurant? It would be so cool if they had character breakfasts or a sit down restaurant. It would be good if they could make it into something like Rick's at MW. -

^Not quite sure what you're trying to draw there... Someone commented on a Facebook post that it was in the Bermuda Triangle of positions - nestled amongst the other scary thrill rides. Is it too soon to have another Bermuda Triangle ride? Otherwise - wood facade - something to do with the guardian's forest? -

There's some brightly coloured stuff over by the grass car park area. Didn't take any photos of it - just noticed it as I drove by. -

And from the street... -
Gotcha, I thought Mickey D meant the season pass photo not the souvenir one. Sure, if you're not in a happy place or just despise the grubbiness of being forced to have a souvenir photo, just keep walking. I hate how they slow the queue down.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
iwerks replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Totally buy the Eurofighter concept, even if it was only partly indoors. In fact, I'd rather they buy the remains of the old wild mouse from Aussie World than restart Andrew H's track. Plus the old Eureka ride did actually use mine carts that were very small. -
Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
iwerks replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Wild mice are jolty, but they do seem to last forever. Plenty of carnie rides have survived in worse locations. The wild mouse at the PRS went on to have another life at Aussie World, so if you get rid of 'asbestos' mountain and build a new show building/shed you'd probably be able to get it going again. Having said that, I agree with @Skeeta, the ride is poo. -

Shaw, why not? The new park looks great, by the way. -

It doesn't match the description of what Mark had said about riding it on 3 different continents. I'd prefer to think of it as the upper stage of something much bigger. It's clearly not the base of a large tower ride as it's only about three feet across and it's not the base of an A frame swing ride as it's not on an angle. -

The support certainly eliminates certain rides, if it's a part of the main structure. -
Hollywood Dream at USJ had some trains going backwards for a while. That would give you some idea of what it would be like to ride DC Rivals backwards.

To Everyone: Let's Make Our Own Theme Park

Ironically, @pushbutton, your version of SW would have more rides than the current one. If someone recreates DW, they could use the Disneyland CD for the soundtrack of Main Street. 😜 -

Here's what I would do with $100 000. Buy a copy of RCT for $20 or whatever it retails for nowadays. Want to own a theme park? Buy shares in Ardent or VRTP. The prices are so depressed, surely they will only go up when someone tries to take them over or the GP works out they're building a really cool rollercoaster. Finally, get the dividend from your shares and fly to USS once a year. Problem solved - you get to experience theme parks without the financial worry. -
Backwards row - DC Rivals HyperCoaster

Has anyone actually ridden a coaster backwards? I even find the Tree Top Flyer at USS nauseating when going backwards. I don't begrudge the fact that there'll be rear wards facing seats; I just hope they won't have to be cleaning them every couple of turns. -

And as @ABYSS has pointed out it will have to be a bigger version of that. -

You ever see that episode of South Park where Cartman gets his own theme park? It would kinda be like that. It would be a really easy way to lose money. I think insurance would be the impossible hurdle here. -
Why should a wrap cost as much as a burger? Can't you make them up at the start of the day? I sure hope that $8 bottle of water is a big one. Many places have machine dispensed bottles of water that are a lot cheaper than that. And there are those water fountains that also have the bottle refilling taps. Just out of interest, is water or soda water an option at the post mix stations? I do think it's cool when parks and resorts have those refillable souvenir mugs. I also think that many people see a day out in the parks as a novelty and thus would be more than happy to have some fast food. Sometimes, it could be that they're just after high energy food, having the need to replenish their stocks after an energy sapping morning running around the parks. I definitely think food and eating options play an important aspect in how we judge a successful park. If there isn't a great range of food or places to go, or if a park loses a dine-in option, you tend to not like the park as much.

My 'go to' meal at Adventure World is Mark's famous Caesar Salad. I think a lot of parents can't believe how healthy some of the options are. The prices are very reasonable compared to the east coast parks, but even better after the 25% member discount.
