Here is the sign that Kevin putnup just on the wall of the Demon Manor after you exit the Demon. This man is an absolute champion. Since the park opened he has come every SINGLE day since Deceber 7th 1985. Kevin was disabled and Wonderland was his life. The place made him so happy just like many other locals, he knew all the staff and it was the sadest thing to see him in tears yesterday afternoon whilst walking out the exit gate. Every morning on my mums way to work exactly at 8:45 he would be walking along the side of the road where Wonderland stands. He walks all the way from Rooty Hill Station. Today Kevin will wake up and have no Wonderland to make him happy. I think Daniel, Bussy ir Scared of Jack can elaborate more on Kevin. I think this was such a sad thing that his pride and joy closed. I was in tears when i had one last look back into the park yesterday at 6pm. I went there practically every weekend, sure it's going to be a massive hole left in my life but kevin's life.......... Anyway here is the sign he posted up..

Hey Coasterfreak, i was on the last ride to! Me and my brother were the ones who were behind you and wanted the last ride and kept letting people in front. You seememd suspicious though that we were taking photos and videos of everything. Well now i can say i've met you.
-
Got the last ride on the probe, did the old if anyone comes, were waiting for someone so you can go in front.
-
Im only going to say one thing, not in the mood at the moment to type a final farwell though Wonderland Farwell and Goodbye I will miss you :-(

The free tickets wouldn't have affected the crouds at night, i went with my friends last night and they tried to use a free ticket and the rules are that they arn't accepted on Saturday Night trading. Though the reason it was croweded is because it's closing and its cheap cheap cheap! Btw- went to Luna park today and the wild mouse should be open in a little under 2 weeks. The park is getting everything in order now, my 4th visit!

Yeah, man, i was at Wonderland aswell last night saw Ya Liam. I have never in my whole life seen those sort of crowds at a theme park! The place was built not even to hold half of what they got. The Demon was 2 hours for me, Bushe Beast- 1 and a half even thought there was two train operation, and Space probe didn't even worry about lining up because of the line stretching all the way back up the hill close to Zodiac! It was crazy and there would have been at least 20mill made yesterday, with food, (half hour wait to get a hamburger), sideshows and entry. This shows one thing, Sydney really does love Wonderland, they just didn't show it when it was needed.

Tottaly agree with ya there GoBoi. We could possibly put Sunway in a bit of dificulty just like they have done to us by closing Australia's largest and Sydney's only major theme park. I will tell you now, i've done a fair bit by writing letters and what-not, i know the park will probably never come back but i intent to let Sunway accept responsibilty for what they have done. If i was to set-up a petition would you Richard put links on the home page, and i will put a link on my site, and get alot of other Australia toursit attraction sites to get it around. It will make us all feel alot better if we let Sunway know how we feel, and the BCC rather than just sit back, and let them make their money and kill what we were proud of.
-
No, there wont be anything, it will just be like a normal day mate at the park, it will close at 5pm but there will be a staff reunion party at 6pm and they will probably get them out of there by about 8pm. If your down in Sydney, take a last trip out, its no hassle or anything and think that you will never set foot in the park again.

Daniel, unfortunately all Steven Galbraith and Zoe Schobrival (or how ever you say it) care about is their big pay packet in April 27th for shutting the park down well and getting big numbers through the gates. The way that the management has run the park the past 8 weeks has been more or less, saddening. They dont care about anyone, but getting large numbers through the gates. All shows have been cancelled, rides closed etc.... The last thing is, what about us Wonderpass holders. We were there when the park was nothing more than a craphole and we dont even get a decent go in the dying stages of the park. We have to go with every other Sydney-sider and battle the huge crouds. Steven or Zoe, if your listening, it would have been nice to have a Wonderpass only day, but just like Anzac day you dont give a **** (sorry about the language Rich). Wonderland- You'll always remember the bad management!

I am proud to live in Penrith (Penriff for the local guys Wonderbus??) We have the best football team, low level of crime, heaps of attractions, biggest club in Australia and much more. Not all of Western Sydney is bad......
-
Yeah the one in Adventure World GoBoi is called 'Rampage' i think its exactly the same bar the theming.....
-
Daniel your spot on from wat i've heard. Most of the beach slides and snowy boats is what i was told, can't tell you who, but i will say if this was true this person would know. Aswell as beach slides apparently some theming was being looked at a.k.a beach huts and shelters......

I've heard a little something from some guys down Jamberoo way... Keep an eye on the place

Whilst not as busy as Saturday night the weekends still draw in good crowds not unbearable, but enough to go home and say it was packed. Though you will get all the majors and some flats in throughout the day, You see on Saturday night, people go in the day, some stay the night and then you have everyone coming in at 5pm for only $16.50 so why wouldn't you go for that price, especially when it's closing.
-
Yer bud,$16.50 for everyone, though if you go say at 10am you can still stay in the park till 10 but if you come in after 5pm you only pay the $16.50 for 5 hours. Mate, watch out for the crowds though, i suggest if you want to head to Wonderland for the last time go from 10am and if you want to see what it's like at night stay a bit longer. You jut dont wanna get caught in the mamoth lines on Saturday night. Ask Liam he will tell you the terror of confronting the Demon at 7pm! And every ride is open except the Snowy River rampage closes at 8pm because of the lack of lighting. This saturday night they opened the Bush Beast for the whole time so mate, just snowy is closed from 8pm onwards. And the show dubbed the Saturday Session wont be seen anymore, it was cancelled last week, because there is no point in having bands there when there is no prize money to give them!
-
The wheels, i will be getting one off the train from Dreamworld, I contacted them two weeks ago and i pay $5.50 for postage and packing and i get a wheel and certificate of authenticity.

Luna Park Sydney Opening Week Events!
Jaggie replied to Nightshifter's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'll second that Buddy, my pop knows the people who first run the place, and now with the new owners- Metro-Edgeley they couldn't give a rats about some stupid t-shirt and free entry. They want to start fresh. -
Well I've spoken to the girl on the phone so has my mum and she told me that it will intrest me alot, if i like theme parks and rides, alot more interactive type of work experience than other attractions have offered. We will see how it goes, it's only a 4 day period. Most people at school are just going to shops, and car places etc.... At least i will have that nice harbour view and smell all day in the sun......

I will be going to Luna Park Sydney towards the end of the year for Work Experience at my school. Should be some fun.
-
Thanks Liam, i will tell you that a staff member that works in the other departments apart from rides, got into a conversation with me about the amount of people there, they then went on to say that there would be around 11,000 here today. I will not mention the staff members name as they might be a bit embaraseed if wonderbus and daniel get to them, but i believe that it was an extremely big crowd anyway, 8,000 shall we say. Dont knock Shifsta, he was only estimating as we all know they have covered up the counters in the turnstyles ages ago.

April 2, but the official opening will be on April 3 which is Saturday night.
-
Sounds great, go Wonderland for one last time, how exciting yet sad.........
-
He he the guy ur talkin about, he is a regular weekends only and flirts with space probe ride-ops and game attendents. I think his name is Nic, Interestin you say about the curly haird guy Dan, i see him all the time on dodgems and he walks round like he owns the place, pitty he didn't it wouldn't be closing then..............

Wonderland's Demon Coming To Dreamworld
Jaggie replied to Nightshifter's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Ok lets say for arguements sake that Shifty was right.... He said that it was "great news confirmed". How is it great news that our beloved Space Probe is going to the theme park, which the owners killed wonderland. Is it just me or does that make you even madder, i mean to see on the Sunway Lagoon website 'Drop By' or 'Drop Tower' opening soon, that would just be terrible. I would much prefer to see it demolished if no theme park in Australia wanted it. But hey, it could be funny, people have informed me that there are massive problems with the space probe. Sunway lagoon might have to spend a bit more than they bargained for. That will be a big effort from Sunway, spending money but i suppose it's "Maylasia's largest theme park" we are talking about here not "Australia's largest theme park"
