  1. An employee told me that staff will be able to try it on Boxing Day.
  2. Photos indicating parts of the ride experience being added to the external wall near Green Bean Coffee. Sorry, photos might not be very clear in attachment! Maybe a better shot here. or here!
  3. "Now you can fly", right outside the, errm, barriers! They are however setting up even more temporary (fast to remove) chain barriers, even closer to the building. Very very enticing!
  4. Is there actually any projection mapping in use, or is it just screens? I haven't noticed any projection mapping.
  5. Ok fair enough Richard. That's a section I rarely look at to be honest!
  6. The discussion in this thread about how some members bully others and potential members were put off joining by that has been removed. I can only assume it was deemed inappropriate for a thread called the off-topic topic.
  7. To be fair, the ones in that photo are. Not the best example. What I said above remains true though. I'm sure I saw several of the real Wiggles at Dreamworld about a week ago. I posted photos of them earlier in this thread. By the way, rest assured I wouldn't be excited even if one of them spoke to me personally. Actually, I was on a plane with 3 of the original Wiggles once. They were sat just the other side of the same aisle as me! Chatted with them for a while. Quite interesting. Still not exciting!
  8. Haha! I said I wasn’t a fan of the Wiggles, and I've never heard of those people. I just know they're famous kids characters, and I've seen them on TV enough to know what they look like.
  9. Another word in Dreamworlds favour. Whilst Movie World has frequent appearances by DC Comics and Warner Bros characters, and that's brilliant, none of them are the original actors. They are all just park employees in costumes. Dreamworld on the other hand has frequent appearances by the actual REAL Wiggles! These are kids characters, so I'm not their biggest fan, but they are genuinely famous! I have friends in the UK whose kids watch The Wiggles on TV and love them! Not saying anything bad about Movie World. Just think Dreamworld deserves a bit more support on here!
  10. Pretty sure it won't be open today, but it's certainly looking good!
  11. There's a big billboard sign on the M1 South (I think near Pimpama) saying "Now you can fly" with the SkyVoyager logo. I've seen the same before but with "Soon you can fly". That again implies it's open. However the Dreamworld site home page says it's "Coming this summer", and messages from Dreamworld on their Facebook page yesterday said it will be opening in the next few weeks. Quite confusing. I'll just have to go and see for myself!
  12. Wow! I had no idea about most of that storyline! One thing that could help is if the video shown on the screens in the queue explained the parts of the story in the movie that relate to the above new parts in the ride!
  13. Testing has probably been happening, but operator training is a different matter. Most probably Dreamworld staff haven't been allowed inside until now as it has been a construction site, and they're not authorised to enter a construction site, plus they'd be getting in the builders way. I would assume staff training starts now, so as much as I wish it was opening tomorrow, it probably isn't for a week or two.
  14. It wasn't just the stuff with the smoke. They were also taking photos of groups of builders outside the entry. Really seemed like they were celebrating the end of the work (or to put it another way, their boss was telling them "Thanks for all your work. Your jobs are now going up in smoke"! (Joke) I'd imagine Dreamworld staff need some time to be trained to operate the ride though now before letting guests on.
  15. Ok now there's a bit! Group of construction workers standing outside main entrance to SkyVoyager taking photos, and just did some sort of short ceremony involving a small smoke machine of some sort. I suppose their cultural way of "blessing" the ride / building maybe?
  16. There's nothing else new to see externally.
  17. Dreamworld lake looks so much better now. I can actually see water in it!
  18. The above scenario sounds very familiar! Exactly what happened where I used to work.
  19. The temporary construction fencing is now coming down, replaced by even more short-term low barriers. Windows being cleaned too. This all gives me more reason to think they are still aiming to open Boxing Day!
  20. The projection mapping at Australian Outback Spectacular is incredibly good! I was hoping for something of that quality.
  21. I very much doubt even Disney, Merlin, or Universal would remove all of Dreamworlds old attractions at once. It has to be bit by bit. The most important thing is there should be a long term masterplan to work towards. I'd like to think Ardent has one for Dreamworld, but I must admit I'm not sure what it is or whether I'd like it if I was. I just hope!
