  1. Dominos was replaced by in-house pizza outlets a couple of years ago.
  2. I also found that from the lower level at the right side (number 3) the picture was a bit distorted (towers in Surfers Paradise appeared leaning) and I could see ridges on the screen itself. These issues were not visible to me (or at least not noticeable) from a more central and higher position (number 4). Still just minor criticisms!
  3. I had the same thought myself. Dunno for certain, those were only my first impressions. I'll see if I notice the top edge next time I'm on the upper level. Anyway, doesn't matter really. It's just a minor point, not overly obvious. It's certainly not another Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Next Gen stuff-up!
  4. Yes maybe, but it completely misses the whole point of the show, which is that it's a train robbery!
  5. I'm sorry to say that even though the train is back up and running, for some reason they're still attempting to do the Bawd Brothers show at Central Station. Absolutely pathetic!
  6. I've now been on aircraft number 4 (upstairs) and 3 (downstairs). They're both almost as good as each other, but I found upstairs slightly better as downstairs (from number 3) I could easily see the top edge of the screen.
  7. It's what guests have been looking for (Dreamworlds words not mine).
  8. There it is (1st two photos), the shaded seating area looking pretty much complete, albeit relocated to Whitewater World. Yet a few people thought I was only joking!
  9. I have to agree that the actual ride experience (sort of hand-gliding I think) doesn't sync well with the style of the building or the other themeing (flying in an aircraft). Even in the pre-show staff announcements, there's one part where they mention "watching a movie" when every other part had prepared you for a "flying experience".
  10. Depends. If it's wooden seating rather than plastic, I think it needs some varnish very soon after it's installed. You're right though, not just yet.
  11. It's not exactly a big park or a long way to walk to other rides. I could understand if it was somewhere like Disneyland or Alton Towers, but Movie World is quite small.
  12. Having never been on a similar ride I had no specific expectations, but I can now say Sky Voyager is my favourite ride in Australia! I won't spoil it by giving away too many details (I'll leave that for others), but yes it was well and truly worth the extensive wait!
  13. Todays Bulletin describes "the installation of multi coloured natural lighting effects". Sounds like the shade cloth has been purchased from Bunnings and is on its way! No mention of the seating at this point, but the report does say this is stage one, so it's probably fair to assume the seating will be installed in stage 2.
  14. Which are in the process of being repainted, which means they're not faded.
  15. White, with just the very faintest hint of yellow that only people with red hair, between the ages of 17 and 19 might be able to see on days when the temperature is 26 - 27 degrees, and it's cloudy and very low humidity.
  16. Why should it be themed to gold rush? That was just the name of one of the old areas in Dreamworld, but there's plenty of other themes.
  17. How could the designer possibly have made such an obvious error, especially when the ride's in Germany?
  18. I had an Acorn Electron computer in 1987 that was probably just about capable of performing the calculations relevant to that. It's not beyond the capabilities of todays technology.
  19. Well I'm sorry if you're all offended, but when I have friends at the other side of the world planning a very expensive holiday on the basis of information I've given them, I do not want to have to tell them I was wrong. However, I do also realise all of your opinions are extremely important, and all of you are far superior to me, so how dare I be so arrogant as to make a joke.
  20. PLEASE don't say they've cancelled the shaded seating area! It's the reason I renewed my pass this year, and I've got some friends in the UK who've promised their young kids a holiday to Australia when the shaded seating area opens. I'd hate for the kids to be disappointed.
  21. That's an awesome idea! I reckon it'd be even more exciting if it had some shade as well.
  22. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll open in 4 months and 6 days from now. Just some numbers that came to mind.
  23. I'm repeating what I've said quite recently in another thread, but first priority in my opinion is to upgrade the changing rooms. They stink! Improve the plumbing and ventilation so they don't stink, and so the floor in the changing room stays dry. It's not hard. Dreamworld has had much better changing rooms for a long time! Other than that, one or two low price but good quality cafes where you can sit in comfort and have an enjoyable meal or snack. It may sound like a cliche, but on hot days when you're walking around with bare feet, shade (and yes, seating too) really are needed! I have little knowledge of new waterslides that could be added, but I'm sure there are some!
  24. I don't know how practical this is but maybe the part of the building where junior driving school is that's currently used for storage could be made into a Looney Tunes theatre, and feature shows several times daily with the LT characters basically doing something like a live version of a typical cartoon (obviously with appropriate scenery and props. The scenery could actually be from LT cartoons. Wouldn't be very expensive to create and would be a shaded seating area with entertainment, making it potentially even better than Dreamworlds.
