  1. I could be wrong, but to me this looks like not only a bit of fun, but also an abstract reference to Daffy Duck, and possibly Tweety Pie (although that one's stretching it)! Or perhaps I'm just too much of an artist! (photo copied from Adventures with J Worlds post earlier in this thread)
  2. I can't really take the credit for that as it's just a fairly random photo I found through a quick Google search. Glad you like it though!
  3. Well, I've finally been on it for the first time in a long time. I found it a pleasant ride and was pleased there are still some enclosed parts. Needs a theme, but I suppose it's probably got as much as it used to have.
  4. New signs in the queue. Well I had to find something to do while I wait! Certainly seems like the canopies have significantly slowed down the loading process!
  5. From some of the negative comments about Arkham Asylum I can only assume some people haven't experienced it with VR. If you haven't, I really can't recommend it highly enough. Makes it a completely different experience. I don't even notice the roughness of the ride as I'm immersed in Gotham City with the Joker!
  6. Agreed. A completely unnecessary and counterproductive solution to a problem that simply doesn't exist! The steel frames and canopies should be removed asap.
  7. Unless it's supposed to be themed to the Flintstones, there's virtually no theme now.
  8. A great idea. Might help with guests leaving the carpark if a lot of the families with young kids leave after the 7.30 show.
  9. Mine started December 2015 and was printed on very thin cardboard. They may have changed it during the following months.
  10. I've been on the one at Butlin's Minehead. Shown in this postcard
  11. So, depending on your point of view on what constitutes a Mad Mouse, there have been potentially 6 Mad Mouse style rides in Australia at one time or another : 1. Adelaide showgrounds 2. Melbourne showgrounds 3. Luna park Sydney 4. Aussie World 5. Eureka Mountain Mine Ride at Dreamworld 6. Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster at Movie World I wouldn't mind betting there's no other countryin the world that's had that many! Having just seen photos of numerous Mad Mouse rides in Britain, I take back my earlier bet on Australia having the most. The UK had loads of them!
  12. Of course! Thanks for that. I just hadn't thought of Eureka as a Wild Mouse, but it makes perfect sense now!
  13. With the recent news that the Wild Mouse ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been demolished, an interesting point has arisen. According to the historic marker shown below, which was next to the ride, there was a similar ride at Dreamworld. Can anyone remember such a ride?
  14. There were actually 4 in Australia. Adelaide showgrounds Melbourne showgrounds Luna park Sydney Aussie World
  15. But much nicer than the Membership card, which just has the Village logo on the front and nothing else.
  16. I have a Platinum pass for Dreamworld which expired 31/12/17. Like all passes it has been extended an extra 6 months, but yesterday it would not work to open the turnstiles. A staff member informed me they had changed to a new style of pass and would print a new one for me. I was expecting another piece of paper which I would have laminated like the previous one. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was handed a plastic card. I now have plastic passes for the Village and Ardent parks. Much more suitable for long term use in my opinion, and whilst the design of both could be more creative, I would say theDreamworld one looks significantly better than the Village one.
  17. According to that link, it was originally the Mad Mouse at the Melbourne showgrounds!
  18. I was also there last night, and thoughtit was significantly better than last year. The food options in my opinion were not up to the standards they were last year, but that was the only exception and they were still quite good. Roving entertainment, like last year, superb. One thing I hadn't seen last year but did this year was a magician going around the plaza doing tricks at different tables for people as they ate. It seemed to me more of the park was open than last year, including some of the animalexhibits, and most of the few remaining rides. The aquacolour show was the highlight without a doubt, and to me it was of similar quality to the Fire Machine show last year at Dreamworld, with the added benefit of water effects, and human performers. All in all, brilliant, and a vastly better experience than my daytime visits to the park in recent years. My only major criticism is it took me about 40 minutes to get out of the carpark. I would suggest traffic controllers for next year.
  19. I suppose all good things come to an end. Until the late 90s there was also a similar mad mouse at the Adelaide showgrounds, which was one of the few rides that was always there, not just when the royal show was on. Whilst I understand that timber wears out over time, I did like this ride and it would be nice if at least that last one could be preserved, even if it had to be completely rebuilt with new timber.
  20. Sorry, I only took a photo of the front page, and the part of the article you can see there. However the rest of it didn't add much further detail.
  21. Village have joined forces with Surfers Paradise Alliance to facilitate frequent promotion of the theme parks in Surfers, and promotions of Surfers Paradise at the theme parks. I am dumb, so I await correction by someone wise!
  22. I'm not disagreeinng with you! Just saying Kevil Hill is a pretty good non-thrill attraction. Well, depending on your definition of thrill I suppose! More definitely needed though. I am dumb, so I await correction by someone wise!
  23. Too many managers, with different opinions but none have the ultimate authority to make decisions. I've worked for an organisation (well, more of a disorganisation) like that. Usually leads to either no decision or very sub-par decisions, which to someone with common sense can seem a bit bizarre! I am dumb, so I await correction by someone wise!
